Sans Make-up…
Hello Darlings,
There are times when I just don’t feel like dressing up or wearing make-up and today is the day. This is one of those days when you just want to go au naturale and kick back with those I love most. Today was my casual day sans make-up and just relaxing in comfortable clothing while spending sometime in the park over a cup of coffee.
Although this is not the look I would normally post as there is nothing chic about it! However, I felt the need to share a look that is as much a part of me as sky scraper stilettos or a mini. Sure posting images of yourself with no makeup and wearing all comfortable is nerve wreaking….but what the hell, it feels awesome: P
In my previous post, I was just really hoping to encourage even one woman to embrace herself, even if it is for a mere moment. I want women to love themselves and enjoy how beautiful we all are! Although easier said than done, it is a lesson that I am willing to learn every day. It’s probably my stubborn side, or as Andrew would say my feminist inside, but I am not the one to give into any of that tradition woman stuff where a woman is supposed to be all perfect and look like a doll every day. Yes, we should look lovely for ourselves but that does not mean that we need to look like dolls. Really, Hollywood ladies are not the best role models
At least not in my eyes!
So, today’s mission was to go about with my day wearing no make-up, proudly! Of course, I’ve stepped outside with no make-up but always hiding behind my sunnies or with my head tilted down. But today, I was going to force myself to be proud of looking the way I do. I was very uncomfortable at first but felt quite amazing once I got used to the idea. Your mind will follow if you set yourself up to believe in something! Believe in beauty and it will shine through, believe in ugly and that will show. I did feel quite insecure and “not-pretty” at some points but that was just my worst critic crawling up on me. You have the power to control at how negatively you perceive yourself but you also have the power to fall in love with the person that you are.
The “trick” to wearing no makeup and feeling a-okay is all in the hair. As one of my close friends said, if your hair look flawless it doesn’t really matter how much make up you’re wearing. You will feel fab! I agree, when your hair looks pretty, not wearing make-up feels fine
I think that if you were to roll out of the bed and just hit the street, it would look a tad too disheveled but with well-done hair you will look neat and confident. Not wearing makeup does exude confidence and that is something I do admire!
Of course, I am not going to make it a regular occurrence of not wearing makeup but knowing that I am comfortable enough to just be is a very comforting thought. I do enjoy dolling up and adding that touch of mascara, blush and lip gloss…but I don’t have the need to hide behind a mask. Personally, I don’t find myself to be conventionally pretty but I like do the person that I am. At the end of the day I can say that I am comfortable in my own skin….after years and years of battling between love and hate, I’ve accepted what I look like. Therefore, this look is me being comfortable in my own skin and feeling comfortable enough to wear whatever it is that I feet. Not having to worry if I look pretty or appealing is very liberating!

But before I leave I must know:
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
Well, I am off to pick up a mother’s day gift! Be back soon
Wishing Everyone a Beautiful day!!!
With Love…
Marta

Darling, you look amazing even without make-up! I completely agree about the hair, though - a good haircut or style immediately makes you look better. As for me, if I am spending the day at home I don’t doll myself up, but I do like to add a touch of concealer, blush and eyeliner if I am going out. But I do leave the house au naturale when I am going jogging - even that was hard for me at first, but I got used to it and I’m glad! We really do need to embrace our natural beauty
Hello Marta ! With or without “maquillage” or sweats-like pants, you’re really a perfect “chic” girl ! Even if stilettos and mini would make you a perfect pretty woman !

Looking lovely as always, even if casual and without makeup! You definitely can pull it off! I am not brave enough to attempt the no makeup route, unless I’m out running or at the gym, in which case I never wear it. I may just have to give it a try now that I’ve read your lovely post.
Shut your face! You are conventionally pretty! I laughed when you mentioned that sometimes when you go out without makeup on you tilt your head down. I soooo do the same thing. Love your hair and I’ve been obsessed with those shoes ever since you posted them! (:
I myself never wear makeup (I have only put on mascara 7 times in my life, and lipstick twice), so I do not personally know how nerve-wracking it can be, but I can imagine!! No girl needs a mask. We’re all princesses.
It’s so true about having neat hair being the trick to feeling gorgeous when you’re ‘au naturel’. My mom always said that, and I’ve really found it to be so… (Which is probably why I ‘invest’ in an all organic shampoo. What’s good for the environment is good for you too!!)
I dont wear makeup unless its a very special event that requires for me to look different. And for night.. maybe use some liner and chapstick… lol…
people that use it all the time don’t look different or surprise me when I meet them at an event cause they are wearing the same makeup the had in the morning.. so yeah! haha
You look great without makeup. You totally pull it off =)
Love your hair-your friend’s theory may be right (for people other than yourself who do need makeup
Seriously, it’s so pretty!
you already have great skin so you look amazing with nothing! I have some pigmentation that I need to cover with concealer and also I need to fill my brows in bc years ago I went plucking happy
lol
you look gorgeous and perfectly chic to me! you wear it with confidence, and that’s all that counts
You still look just as pretty as you do with makeup on! And seriously, your hair looks so gorgeous, I love your hair colour! I never wear makeup, but I’m always fascinated by it and end up buying a lot of it to just look at! I think that’s a habit I should break by either wearing it or just not buying it in the first place!
A friend of mine is never wearing make-up, she’s just a natural beauty. But when she does she looks extra beautiful
so that is also good! I’m a bit jealous :p
I wear make-up almost every day but most of the time it’s just brown mascara and sometimes with a light pink lipstick so that is more ‘natural’. My eyelashes are blonde but I have dyed my hair dark so if I don’t wear make-up it looks as if I’m sick or something
And going out not wearing make-up is more a feeling than that other people will notice you’re not wearing it. I think you look beautiful and if you didn’t tell I wouldn’t have seen it either I guess
Hey lovely!
No need for make up, you are beautiful as you are!
xx
great post and I get your point of view! For me wearing makeup is not because I am trying to “hide” or anything of the sort…its like with fashion/clothes…I like to get artistic…I appreciate the features that I have and am comfortable in my skin…but ultimately I put it on for me.,…because its fun! and because I like it….J actually prefers we without makeup …
You can say the same thing about clothes I guess…and what we choose to wear …
you look gorgeous and I LOVE your hair in this post! It is so beautiful…I wish I could do this withmy own hair
xox
i love that though you are wearing something casual you still look stylish and i love the silver shoes .
You look beautiful without makeup Marta, to be honest I couldn’t even tell that you didn’t have anything on!
Kisses,
Stephanie
Marta, you don’t even need makeup! You look gorgeous with or without! I have always wished that
I could pull of this au naturel look…but sadly, with my blonde eyelashes, light eyebrows and fair skin,
I cannot…well, maybe if I had a few things tinted! Lovely look…still dying over those fantastic shoes
xo
Hi Marta, I personally think that you should feel as comfortable wearing make up as when you don’t. I usually do have some make up but sometimes I just don’t feel like having even mascara. Years ago, I felt terrible when I didn’t have shadows, mascara, etc. Now, I just feel ok. And, yes, it is about the hair. Moreover, I think we should use the appropriate comsetics, so that the skin looks fabulous on it’s own. Personally, I am sporty, and I spent a lot of time in the park with my dog and my beloved - at that time I don’t wear make-up. And even further it seems funny to me to have make up when u r for a dog walk.
Hi Maria,
I also get really grossed out when women come to my yoga class wearing full-on make up and then sweat…it just scary knowing that’s happening to their pores
As for cosmetics, I do believe that it’s important to be careful with the products ones uses, personally I am very sensitive and have terrible allergies which really sucks
I will definitely agree that there are numerous occasions that do not call for make up aka spending time in the park
Yeah, I know what u mean when talking about allergies, it’s awful. I am full of special cosmetics which is no use at all. Anyways, I love your style and I am thinking now of making my own blog. I think it is just a matter of time to figure out how to coordinate it.
