Hello Darlings, I’ve been blessed with a career that is always taking me to new places. Every day I count my blessings and wake up feeling like the luckiest girl in the world because of it. With constant travels comes a lifestyle of living out of a suitcase and spending many hours alone and away from home and at the hotels. While I adore traveling, the experience greatly depends on the quality of my stay at the hotel. Since most of my travels are work related, I spend a large part of my free time in my room catching up with work. So from hotel restaurants, work desk comfort and gym facility all make a huge difference. When traveling a lot it is the small and thoughtful details that make you feel welcome and comfortable.

Last weekend, I spent a few days back in a city I called home for a year – Montreal. With bittersweet memories, it is a city that will forever hold a special place in my heart. For this stay I was kindly welcomed to the chic Loews Hôtel Vogue in downtown Montreal. Located just 25 minutes away from Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport, the hotel is at the foot of Mount Royal on stylish rue De La Montagne. It is centrally located with a wide range of restaurants, shopping and attractions within walking distance.

The Little Tweed Jacket That is Not From Chanel

Hello Darlings, When the kaiser of fashion speaks, you listen! When Karl Lagerfeld says that the only three wardrobe staples that will never go out of style are “a pair of jeans, white shirt, and a Chanel jacket.” Well, you guessed it — you listen! The three items make a perfect sense and therefore without an argument should be in every woman’s wardrobe with one exception. The takeaway from that statement should not be that you need to invest in a Chanel tweed jacket. As romantic of a notion as it may be , it is going to cost you a pretty penny and to be exact about two thousand or so.

That iconic Chanel jacket is not only the subject of numerous coffee table books but also an internationally acclaimed exhibition, The Little Black Jacket. So like the classic 2.55 purse, it is one of the items that every woman adores and wants. The history and craftsmanship behind both are immaculate and surely worth the appreciate, however just because that little jacket is not within your budget does not mean that you have compromise on your likes.

Back to Basics: Who Do You Dress For?

Hello Darlings, As a woman gets ready for the day, she is dressing with someone in mind. When getting ready for a meeting, we dress for our co-workers wanting to portray a certain image. When in love or lust, we dress with a man in mind and what he might like best. When going out for cocktails, we dress in a way that other woman would appreciate our effort. It seems that the only time that we dress for ourselves is when we least care.

I dress for myself when I am out running errands, going to the gym or just hanging out at home. It seems that most effort that I make is usually somehow related to other people. If looking good is a form of politeness then in fact our exterior appearance is often time dedicated to others. We dress every morning with a certain image that we want to portray to others!
