Post-Impressionist Boredom ….

Hello Darlings, It's been a long week and a longer weekend bombarded with school work .... even right this moment, I am reviewing my Post - Impressionist notes.... kill me now,lol.... As my stress levels rise so do my spending, and here's my theory
STRESS + SHOPPING = MORE STRESS
and this is why, shopping gives me lots of joy but realizing that you spent around a grand this month is when you feel even more stresses out and realize that this is a never ending circle .... oooh well... Although I realize that most of the people out there love to shop, but to what extent? Is it just a for fun or is it really an addiction? I decided to do a little research and check out some of the facts that I found:
Lets get the facts straight
  • Compulsive buying can be though of as a chronic tendency to purchase products far in excess of a person's needs and resources.
  • Part of the problem, experts say, is that compulsive shopping is often viewed favorably rather than being treated as a problem.
  • An average of nearly 6% of the U.S. population fits the compulsive-buyer build.
  • The spending problem afflicts men and women at the about the same rate.
  • Like other addictions, shopping fills some kind of a void. In the past research, marketing professor Edwards found that compulsive buyers all had certain personality types, such as low self-esteem, a tendency towards fantasizing and to be vulnerable to depression and high anxiety.
I think that a little shopping here and there as a "pick me up" is a sign of a developing addiction...but I still like to believe that I can control myself and still shop with reason/logic.
So here's my question to you:
  • DO YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE A SHOPAHOLIC?
  • IF SO, DO YOU HAVE WAYS/METHODS TO CONTROL YOUR SPENDING?
  • IF YOU'RE NOT A SHOP-ADDICT THEN WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND TO THOSE WHO ARE?
FEEDING MY " NASTY LITTLE HABIT"
Now on a more positive note.... My goodies have arrived in the mail and I also picked up a few things in between, including a beautiful pair of Juicy boots .... here's a little peak, on a side note... these were planned purchases....Justified? Maybe , lol

The hockey season finally began and I got a chance to catch one of the first games this Friday: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Pittsburg Penguins....I love going to the hockey games....the game, the spirit, the cheering ,and the booze...lol always lots of fun :)

I tried to keep it really casual but cute. I really didn't want to be that girl wearing stilettos to a hockey game...which is very common, not sure why... WOULD YOU WEAR STILETTOS TO A SPORTS EVENT?
Earlier that day I had a meeting with couple of profs. and decided to sometimes more professional by pairing a pair of wide leg trousers...I definately love that this cardigan is very versatile. I adore it

Girly girl in a man’s man world …. :P

Hey Everyone, I had a really exciting and action packed weekend.... so, on Friday ( as I've mentioned) I went to a football game and even though my team lost I had a blast. Although I was surrounded by about 85% men ( and I am not complaining) I felt so comfortable ... just drinking beer with pop cork (I know, it's a weird combination).... After the game, we ended up going to the game's after party and the rest is a history :P .... But I will admit that I do prefer going to hockey games ... and I am eagerly awaiting for the new season to start.
I know, I'm a girly girl type but I do love watching sports and even used to play baseball on school team...SO, here my question : CAN A GIRLY GIRL BE A TOMBOY AT HEART? I hope you all had a wonderful weekend :)
As for my outfit... nothing special, just a simple pair of J brand jeans with a Gap Sweater and favorite flats :) VERY EXCITING : Johnny Dale who is an author of The Darling Budds , mentioned my post about scarves in his totally awesome blog ( click to check it out) .... Thank you so much :)

My Passion in Hayden Cashmere

Hello Darlings,

This blog is very personal and truly does represent who I am. So today I thought to write about my studies in fine art and architecture at the University of Toronto (with a few style photos interspersed of my new Hayden Cashmere sweater - since this is a fashion blog after all).

Here's a bit of info about my life as a student .... :P
I am going into my third year at the University of Toronto doing a specialist in Fine Art and Architecture. I am also learning German and doing research with four different professors, and it is my hope that one day I can share my passion by educating and further researching in this field... maybe doing my PhD or becoming a professor myself, following in the footsteps of my family.... who always inspire and support me (Дуже дякую за вашу підтримку) Therefore, I have decided to include the occasional Fine Art and Architecture posts... I hope that you enjoy them and if there is anything that you would like to suggest, please do so my leaving me a comment or e-mailing me :D

Running Errands :)

Hey Everyone, Today was an another relaxing and fun day for me... I was just running errands around the downtown Toronto... and ...Although my day was mostly spent in the car, I did menage to get some awesome snapshots :P .... So here's a peek into my daily life and my outfit choice :) I started my day with a very slloooooowwwww drive to downtown( a 5 minute drive turned into 35) ..... But no worries, I entertained myself by taking pictures of the stunning view from the highway. ( Please don't try this at home,:P) ... I swear that usually, I'm a very careful driver :)
I kept my distance :) Bored at the red lights :)
After the long drive and finally finding a parking spot... I dropped by my office( well, my profs. office). Here's the deal, I have an awesome job - as a research assistant to one of my architecture profs. ( who is incredible and inspiring woman) - which allows me to work from home and from the office. Wicked, I know? It also means that I have no schedule :) Well, here it is ....

After the office fun, I headed for some real fun ... the spa to get a routine facial and some girly things ... and finished of my day, playing Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360 with my "better-half" for about 5 hours...I ended up heading home, high on coffee, at 12:30am and here I am .... BLOGGING :D
I know ... I'm a neard :) Here's quick look at a boring life of an ordinary girl. AND NOW, ON TO THE SERIOUS STUFF,

Today's look is just as simple as every other one ... I mean what a girl to do when, comfort is essential ( for such a long day) .... of course, TURN TO THE FLATS which I paired with my "parachute" top (well, that's what I like to call it) and a trusty pair of dark- wash skinnies.

I'm a flat lover, they are perfect for running around downtown all day long while trying to look cute when it is 30 degrees outfit. So, here's my question:
CAN A MODERN DAY WOMAN WEAR HEELS EVERY DAY?
For me, the answer is NO.
As a student it is impossible for me to spend an entire day on heels, especially when my university is located all over downtown ( I'm not joking)... sometimes it takes me 15 minutes to get from one lecture to another by foot. And try crossing an entire park on heels ... IMPOSSIBLE. So my solution is flats.... cute, comfy, and still give an outfit that dressed up feeling. What was once reserved for casual Fridays is now also for stately affairs.The look appeals to all fashion lovers, from the first lady of France to style setter Kate Moss.
SO, WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON FLATS?
