Gala of Light

Hello Darlings,

March 29th, I had the pleasure to attend the Gala of Light in downtown Toronto — an evening to benefit Street Haven and hosted by television personalities Sarah Taylor and Cabbie Richards.

The event took place at the upscale Easy & The Fifth with entertainment from DJ’s Lissa Monet & Johnny Hockin, and an impressive violin performance by Yosvani Castenada. Aside from wonderful entertainment and delightful cocktails, the event also featured a silent auction.

Miami Downtown: The Year of Black Dragon

Hello Darlings,

The year of 2012 is especially significant in the Chinese zodiac. Combinations of animal signs create a cycle where the Year of the Black Dragon occurs only once every 60 years, which symbolizes water and the colour black.¹ Of personal note, Dragon is my zodiac sign.

To ring in my own new year, I enjoyed a lovely dinner with a delightful bottle of Oregon wine and delicious lobster tail.Instead of staying in South Beach and taking part in one of the night club parties, I wanted an urban atmosphere of restaurants and tall buildings :P Everyone knows that a city girl can be taken out of a city but the city can never be taken out of her.

With Love… Wraps On a Sour Note:TIFF

Hello Darlings,

Every September, the eyes of celebrity and fashion reporters are focused on the now famous Toronto International Film Festival. The likes of George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Madonna grace the city and downtown is a spectacle of star-watchers and media scrums. The city buzzes with energy and parties. Today is the last day of TIFF, which ran from September 8th-18th.

Despite having to have had a full agenda with many films, events and parties; it was following an unexpected and unfortunate medical emergency that my TIFF experience was spoiled! Despite giving it my best effort and trying to get back into flow of things, the recovery is taking longer than first anticipated. I do however have a few of images to share as I really did enjoy dressing up and adored by outfits :)

Celebrating My 23rd Birthday at The Spoke Club

Hello Darlings,
As one of my favorite fashion icons—Audrey Hepburn—said:
" The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows and the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years."

With her words in mind, I embrace yet another year passing birthday. As I was laying in my large comfy bed in a hotel room with 1 hour before the clock fit 12 am, I could not help but feel blessed and slightly overwhelmed. With the best parents, caring family, amazing friends, loving boyfriend and readers as wonderful as you...I feel truly blessed and thankful! Therefore, I would like to thank everyone for making me smile everyday, for making me feel as loved as I do and for making me want to be the best person that I can. I can't express enough gratitude and send out enough thanks!
