Hello Darlings,

Despite the beautiful fall weather, I am feeling quite under the weather with sniffles and the whole shazam :P But I am back with a quick outfit post from this Friday. Despite a fun weekend of shopping, dinners, lunches, and birthdays with my girlies… I had zero luck in the shopping department. After a Saturday afternoon of shopping, I came home with only a book :S. However, I was quite excited to get my hands on the new Nina Garcia book, Look Book: What to Wear for Every Occasion. Which is quite informative and always super fun to read!

Another great piece of information that I wanted to share was this awesome list of stores and services in Toronto that are recommended by Jeanne Beker. For those who are not familiar, Jeanne Beker is a host of Fashion Television and is one of the most iconic and influential women in the fashion industry in Canada and around the world. It’s definitely worth checking out :) Click on the image below.

As for me, well…I’ve been living in flats. In all honestly, I can’t remember the last time that I wore heels. I just love wearing riding and ankle boots…something about them is so empowering and easy! Although heels will always dominate my closet, I do think that flats can be just as fabulous. What do you think…it’s always a dilemma for me!

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

I think that in a wrong situation, heels can ruin an outfit. There are times when heels look forced and out of place. However, when it comes to a pair of beautiful riding boots or stunning ballerinas, I think that those can work for just about any situation. Although, of course… I love heels! I do think that flats can have an exact effect as heels if worn in a right setting. To me, a pair of beautiful ballerinas can look very refreshing in an unexpected situation such as a cocktail party. But at the end of the day, it’s all about the woman and her attitude that will make a statement and no shoe can have the same effect. What’s your take….I am dying to find out. My opinion changes daily on this topic, so today I am favoring flats :P What about you???

I am wearing:
Talula Babaton Shirt—from Aritzia
Marc by Marc Jacobs Coat in Sandshell Khaki—from Holt Renfrew
Rich & Skinny Legacy Crop— from Holt Renfrew
Marc by Marc Jacobs ” House of Cards Court Harem” ring set— from shopbop.com
Michael Kors Watch—a gift
Kors by Michael Kors Eagle Boots—from Winners
Gustto “Cokera” Purse—from revolveclothing.com

For the rest of the look, I went make-up free with just a touch of lip gloss and my favorite trench.I feel that no matter how disheveled you feel and how little time you have, a trench always makes one look pulled together. This was exactly my case on Friday, when I slept in and had a test . Quick shower, followed by the easiest possible outfit, I was ready take on Canadian art. Although this is not the most glamorous or fashion forward outfit…I do think that it’s important that I share honest outfits that I actually do wear everyday, rather than choreographing a “shoot”. In all honestly, I hate the idea of creating looks that are meant specifically for the blog, I feel like it’s lying to the readers.

Well, I am off to finishing my assignment… look forward to some exciting posts coming up :)

Wishing Everyone a Beautiful Monday!!!

With Love…

Marta

  4. Those boots are awesome! I love the details on them. I definitely think flats can be as fab as heels!

Thanks for sharing Jeanne Beker’s top 100! This is an example of why I love finding other Canadian (especially Torontonian) bloggers. Exchange links?

  5. Overall, I prefer heels, although I too have my fair share of flats. Flats can be equally elegant als heels, they just have to fit my mood, outfit and the occasion :)

  6. Hope you feel better soon, Marta! I couldn’t agree more, it’s definitely the attitude that has a big impact on an outfit:) I think flats could definitely have the same effect as heels;) Love that you also showcase outfits you wear on a daily basis! Have a great week, Marta!

I love flats for comfort but prefer heels for the way they look :) I think it’s a good idea to post outfits that you actually wear, I never wear outfits just for the blog. I snap them before I am about to go out somewhere :)

Mmh AND beyond this “Fetish debate” I must say that I can’t help to see in your flaming mane such a (striking) Fall’s Allegory Dear Marta !!!
ps: I think that a feet finery’s “Trendy appeal” kindly is a question of context, stays in (versatile) stylish associations too . . .

It’s Toronto Fashion Week! I thought we’d definitely see some posts of what shows you’d go see and how excited you are for it!

    • Hi Hailey,
I was planning on attending a few events but ended up getting sick, however I did have an opportunity to attend a fashion show at a private event that featured the works of Alexander Wang, Diane von Furstenberg, and Elizabeth and James this week. Unfortunately, I will not be covering Toronto Fashion Week but I hope that you had an opportunity to attend a few :)
