What is it with women and rain boots…?

Today was rainy and it seemed as if every girl age 2 to 92 wore rubber rain boots. WHY? I just don't understand why people wear rubber rain boots as a fashion statement... even when it's not raining. It's as if rain boots are the new Uggs, even worn in winter. What is it about rain boots that women love so much?

 

Seen today "casual shopping" were three women arguing over a pair of $150 Juicy Couture rain boots.... Why would 20 year old women argue over rubber rain boots? It's not as if they are Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo. If this wasn't a "loud" enough indication how much women love rain boots, the price tag designers charge is... Why does rubber cost $150? Just because of the designer name?...

 
 

SO WHAT IS IT WITH WOMEN AND RAIN BOOTS????

Not to pass undue judgment... Wet feet suck, but there are options other than wearing rubber boots. Sure if you live in the country and it's often muddy, rain boots are practical. But it's rare to find muddy side walks in the city... Plus, do you wear your rain boots indoors, lets say in an office building, in Starbucks, in a restaurant, or a shopping mall???

The role for rain boots in my life are :

♥ Walking my dog when it is pouring and muddy. ♥ Walk in the country if mud is unavoidable. ♥ At the cottage and out for a walk during or after rain.
 
Then again I don't understand why people love Uggs. My rain boots are Michael Kors duck boots... Nothing cute or pretty, but "uniquely ugly", water-proof, warm and comfortable.

Urban Escape ….

Hello Darlings,
During hot summer days, it is nearly impossible to stay at home...all you want to do is be outside.
The weather was beautiful... well a bit hot, +30c to be exact.. and I was in the best mood ( but then again I always am). Perfect time to run some errands, do mani/pedi, grab some gelato with mommy, grab some Chinese food for dinner and go for a lovely walk in the park once the sun went down.Living in a large city that never sleeps it is nice to get away into a park for some down time...
During weather like this it is nearly impossible to wear dark skinnies (which I love sooo dearly), so I've turned to my newly favorite Wang khakis. And once again, I am combining feminine and masculine. I'm not quite sure why I love these opposites? But I do!!!

Well, Off I go to read Vaniy Fair... this book is loooong read.Also, I have yet to find French grammar book, so I'm still looking. Ugh, another language to learn.

Wilfred with Michael Kors Heels

Hello Darlings,

I love summer and hot weather, but it's the most dreaded season to decide what to wear as if I subconsciously HATE bright colors. I find them distracting and loud - and they just don't suit me. I prefer nudes and basics but in different shades and hues. Basically, Colors that are subdued.

Today I went shopping with my mother. Shopping on Monday is a magical experience - it is an awesome way to start a week, and because the malls are nearly empty. First, we went to Godiva to buy some Dark Chocolate Decadence and candy, then to Chanel make-up counter and then wandered through many more stores.

NO COLORS

Am I the only one struggling with this? Do you feel like you HAVE to wear colors in the summer?

  Two things that I have embraced this summer are my naturally wavy hair, and wearing practically no make up. OOOH yea. I also rekindled my love with Michael Kors heels :) My new obsession is this Wilfred Sweater from Aritzia. Cuddly and soft, it goes with everything and is perfect to throw on during a chilly summer night.

Nervous Wreck…

Hello Darlings,

I was a nervous wreck trying to figure out what to wear. When you're a student/ young professional and getting ready to go to an art gallery: WHAT DO YOU WEAR?

I wanted to wear something that was professional, but still me. Something cute but serious. Something appropriate, but not boring. Fashionable but not flashy; subtle and classic but with a twist. So here's what I came up with...
I am wearing:
Wilfred Linen Trench
Armani Exchange Silk Sheer Blouse with Donna Karan Silk Cam
Juicy Couture Mary Jane's
H&M Bow Headband

Not too office-y or grown up, but girl-y and appropriate. Personally, getting dressed for meetings is most difficult. Trying to stay true to your personal style and not looking like everyone else does in business-casual attire is a challenge.
