Formula that always works…

Hello Darlings,

Some things just need to stay simple. When I am overwhelmed with school, the last thing I need is extra worrying about what to wear. Although it would be a miracle if I could wake up and know exactly what to wear instead of walking into my closet...making a complete mess, sort out a million things on my bed and always end up late, in a rush and somewhat dissatisfied with what I wore. I always have a feeling that I know exactly what I want to wear but as soon as I step into that closet... I am overwhelmed! With a walk-in full of clothes ... It feels like I don't have anything to wear?!!!???? It drives me nuts!!!!

I know ladies that many of you feel this way in the mornings as well....so what is your secret or that perfect thing that you always reach for in such cases??? You know, the formula that always work????

I am wearing:Club Monaco tee (underneath); Soia&Kyo Charlie Jacket; Corpus Skinnies; Ed Hardy Scarf; Pedro Garcia Mary Janes; Gap Leather Purse; Pearl Earrings; Diamond Ring courtesy Ice.com Jewelers; Chanel Sunglasses.

For me that formula is simple.... skinny jeans, simple tee, cute jacket, scarf, heel/flats., sunglasses.It is always a variety of the sameness. To a certain degree awesome, since I know it works but at the same time I feel bored... knowing that I can always resort to my safe bet. Plus, these new babies are becoming my absolutely favorites and I don't seem to be willing to take them off... they are soooooo comfortable it still amazes me :)

However, I have a plan of action:
- Re-organize my closet..and make a post on it( yup, I will have a post coming up talking about different ways I organize my walk-in as a few of you have requested) - Draw some inspiration from my favorite Fall 09 fashion shows and random sources. - Settle down with school work and prevent it from overwhelming me. First weeks are the hardest, always. - Go shopping with mommy! - Remember: Breeze and Relax!!!
Well, I am off to read....

dVb Jeans and finding the perfect pair…

I am more in love with these Victoria Beckham dVb jeans than expected. Beckham really seems to understand the female body and how to create flattering jeans, that make a woman feel feminine as they hug every curve and minimize any flaw. So I decided to revisit her book "That Extra Half an Inch" and share her suggestions to finding a perfect pair, fit, wash and style.

  ♥ Check the Waist Band ♥ Waist band should not be thick or heavy or it will dig painfully into hips. Think and heavy waist bands also can can give the muffin-top look. Check the waist band doesn't gape at the back, to avoid a weird wind-tunnel effect. Buy jeans cut higher at the back to avoid gaping and builder's bottom when you sit. ♥ No Bagging ♥ Jeans that bag around the knees or bottom are a fashion disaster. Buy jeans with some stretch, and narrow around the leg to give shape at the bottom.   ♥ Get The Length Right ♥ Wearing heels, the bottom of your jeans should just skim your toes. This will give the illusion that your legs are a couple of inches longer! With flats, jeans should end at the tip of the shoe, just grazing the ground.   ♥ Color Me Beautiful ♥ White looks fresh for summer. Be wary as white jeans can make things look larger than they are. Subtle powder blue and pale gray look best in skinny drainpipe or high-waisted styles. Black jeans are great but choose cut-slim styles. Skinny black is sexy rock'n'roll; baggy black is "roadie" and unflattering.   ♥ Sizing ♥ Always try jeans before buying to make sure they fit. And always buy the right size regardless of the number.   ♥ From High Street to High Fashion ♥ I recommend buying one pair of straight-leg or boot-cut jeans and one pair of skinnies. ♥ Suggestions of What to Buy ♥ 1. ... after a day of shopping. I felt amazing wearing them. Although the jean does have a flare to it, I love how long it makes my legs look.The jeans are the focus of attention in this simple outfit, as they added an interesting twist. I also really love the little stars on the behind pockets... :)

Shorts = Complicated… Wilfred Shorts

Hello Darlings,

Shorts = Complicated. Finding the perfect shorts was a never ending mission until I came upon these Wilfred shorts. In my search, I tried cute classic cuts that look prim and proper, the distressed über short shorts that hardly covered my bottom and looks grunge, the boyfriend shorts that looked laid back, and countless other styles.

 

None of them worked for me!!! They looked alright but they were simply not me. I will only buy an item when I feel like it fits my style. And this pair WAS ME!!! YAYAY... mission impossible, made possible.

Finding these silk Wilfred's yesterday was a blessing, and much thanks to my mom for picking them out. They are breezy, silky, neutral colored and an ideal addition to my summer wardrobe.A unique take on a summer classic. Easy to dress up and easy to dress down. My summer wardrobe is all about effortless simplicity. Plus they were on sale from $60 to $50... not a huge difference but better than nothing.

Today I also discovered a beautiful botanical garden just 5 minutes from my home. I wish I had known such beauty exists so close by... I would have spent all of those hours reading Vanity Fair there. I am down 650 pages about 50 more to go :)

Pretty Ballerina Flats

Hello Darlings,

It's a very hot day in Toronto, and I have a busy day ahead with a mixed agenda including a morning appointment at the hairdresser's, an afternoon at the art gallery and professor's office, and then dinner and drinks at the chic Yorkville neighborhood. It makes no sense coming home to change between appointments, so choosing a fitting wardrobe for all this is a dilemma.

I am wearing:

Armani Exchange Silk Blouse

Talula Shorts

Pretty Ballerina Flats

Juicy Couture Laptop Bag

Diamond Ring courtesy Ice.com Jewelers

What I came up with was comfortable, simple and hopefully cute. A pair of Talula shorts that are comfortable to wear but do not look sloppy, Pretty Ballerina flats for all of the running around and to add a pop of color, and a silk blouse from Armani Exchange to make it more chic and pulled together. And as a final touch, my trusty Juicy Couture laptop bag for computer and all the papers needed today.

This is my so called work station.:P I started to make a re-do, finished the painting, got my bathroom re-done and the walk it closet. But I have NOOO idea what to do with my work station - so frustrating.

Anyways, I'm off to do some research... I responsible for an upcoming exhibit catalog, which is a lot of work but interesting.
