It feels like things are never going to slow down...I always feel like I am running a marathon. From one place to another, from one text to the next. Honestly, keeping up with exams and a social life is EXHAUSTING, but in a positive way!

What an amazing weekend including a super fun birthday and a masquerade soiree night full of arts, and of course some shopping. I was wearing my new velvet dress from H&M and was dying to debut it... especially, since it was my first time wearing velvet.

I am enjoying the beauty of autumn... nothing compares to how magical this season is in Canada! Cooler temperatures call for cold weather wardrobe which is my favorite :) Colder weather offers a great opportunity to experiment with your clothes and layering. But most important, boots are back! and boy, do I love boots!
I received a fabulous request about finding a perfect pair of flat boots! Flat boots are an essential for winter. Living in Canada has taught one thing, that well-made footwear and outwear are essential. Also, touches of warm wool and cashmere will take you through a nasty winter with a feeling of coziness and chic-ness.
I recommend thick leather boots with a durable sole, and recommend against suede for winter. After spending $500 on Michael Kors suede boots, they were ruined by salt and moisture within 2 months. Even suede protective spray wasn't helpful. So my suggestion, is to save wearing suede for spring and autumn when the weather is more dry. For snowy days, wear leather or patent leather... Actually, I really love my patent leather 80%20 boots for very snowy days, snow just slides off. In my opinion, if you take a good care of leather it will last for couple of seasons so finding a good pair is worth while!

My new pair of flat boots are by Michael Kors. As for the rest of my outfit which I wore to grad school seminar and then a day of fun... I kept it simple and cozy. Friday, was a cold day and this outfit kept me warm! I think that autumn is also a perfect time to accessories... so have fun with hats, gloves, scarves, stockings, knee socks....

Las Vegas was amazing! The perfect way to celebrate my 21st birthday. With so much to see and do, deciding what to wear every day and night was a little overwhelming.
We stayed at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel right on the main street Las Vegas Boulevard and directly across from the amazing fountains of The Bellagio. There is a miniature Eiffel Tower in front of the hotel...
My birthday consisted of a romantic dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, which has a beautiful view overlooking the Bellagio fountains, followed by dancing at VooDoo Lounge and XS nightclub (thanks to those who recommend it, it was perfect!!!)
I settled for a simple outfit that made me feel like a ballerina, nothing too over exposing but just perfect for me!!!

On the first day that we arrived, it was all about exploring and shopping. We also had a chance to check out "Warhol and friends" exhibit at the Bellagio and although it was small the pieces were well selected to represent his period.
In terms of shopping, I mostly stayed away except stopping by the Chanel store to pick up some make up and to buy myself a floppy hat at some random hat store (I'll show it in the second part of my Vegas posts).
As for the outfit, I stayed comfortable with a classic black and white combination... I mostly stayed away from looking too casual.
Road Trip to Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam!
My favorite part of the Las Vegas trip was sightseeing at the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. It is definitely worth the drive from Las Vegas, especially the Grand Canyon.
Andrew and I rented a highlander and ventured out on a 5 hour drive down the deserts of Nevada and Arizona... the drive was so beautiful. I've never enjoyed being in a car as much as this, it was breathtaking. It even rained in the desert which was probably one of the coolest experiences ever!
If I could recommend one thing to do - this would be it, or travel to the Grand Canyon as a separate vacation... which I am hoping to do sometime ( go hiking, camping and rock climbing in the canyon)!
As for the outfit, I wore a loose long sleeve top, mainly so that my shoulders wouldn't burn. Denim shorts and my oxfords... simple and easy! I also chose to tie my hair back, it is impossible to have your hair looking great in such an environment without fixing it every hour or so and who needs that on a road trip. So for me it was a pony with a bow headband!

More pictures are coming... But first, I couldn't believe my luggage was rummaged through by United States Transportation Security Administration. Apparently my hair straightener and curler were suspicious :P (according to the letter found in my luggage). The locks were cut off and everything was a mess including my make-up kit... Who could have thought shoes and beauty supplies are a security threat? Did you hear that Chanel, Michael Kors and Conair... your products are dangerous!
