Hello Darlings,

By a request of a lovely reader, this is my updated Skin Care and Make Up routine. When it comes to my skin care and make up, my rule is simple - LESS IS MORE. I hate using too much make up or too many skin products. I have Combination to Oil skin type.

Skin Care

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
use it every morning and night
use it every morning and night and whenever my skin needs refreshing
use it every morning and night
use it every morning and night. very moisturizing and light
use whenever I don’t get my beauty rest
use it every week before scrubbing
use it every week after the mask.
removed black heads perfectly and skin always looks fresh and radiant

Make Up

Use on days when I need more coverage. I’ve been using it forever and love it
Use it everyday, gives perfect matte look without the cake-y look
gives a perfect gentle sun-kissed look without the orange tint
Best mascara out there, AMAZING
adds that perfectly rosy effect to the cheeks
base shadow, or just for inner eye and under the brow
For days when I feel like wearing eye-make up,lol. Light and fresh
For days that I feel girly, lol.
Simple, can’t live without it!

Need to get: ( Are they any good?)

What are your must-haves?

Comes on ladies and gents spill your secrets to staying fabulous?

With Love…
Marta

Thank you for posting about this. I’ve been looking for a new moisturizer and have been leaning towards Philosophy’s Hope in a Jar, but was also exploring Kiehl’s.

  2. FJ says:

Hope in a jar is great. I run out so fast though, so in between I find that Dove sensitive skin facial lotion works great as well. My must haves are Diorshow mascara, and a good eye pencil in black.

  3. TeamKeiling says:

I’m not gonna lie- I use the Proactiv skin care system and I love it! It makes you skin so clear and fresh, and I love how when you use the face wash and toner it feels CLEAN and then you use the lotion after and it’s so soothing.
And on a nerdy level- I think I really enjoy the whole “system” aspect of it. I like to feel like when I use all three together I am somehow getting a superior advantage :)

Love makeup posts. I must tell you since you live in Canada, if you have a shoppers drugmart the absolute best foundation powder is the quo brand. They have some fab products!! I have heard alot about the cetaphil cleanser, i have alot of breakout recently and just wanted to know do you find that works well??

  5. Mrs. Lovers Knot says:

I’ll have to look into the St. Ives scrub….sounds promising. Nars blush is the best! I also har the Orgasm multiple which is the “stick” that can be used on cheeks, lips, and eyes. I have used the Kiehl’s PCA Sodium free mosturizer and it works well. I don’t use it any more bc I now use the Murad line for my oily skin.

  6. Wanderlusting says:

Nars Orgasm is awesome, though quite subtle I think. Really nice with a tan too but again, I find I have to pile it on to really pop. Nars makes a richer version of Orgasm but the abundace of gold flecks turned me off.

That St Ives scrub is awesome, I use it every day almost. And good to know about Kiehls, does it help puffiness? I use Patricia Wexler de-puff and it’s all right but not a miracle worker. I’ve also tried every under eye circle cream in the book and non work. Looks like I might have to get restalyne injections to fix these bad boys!

  7. M says:

I personally didn’t like the Sodium PCA moisturizer from Kiehl’s. It didn’t do much for my skin and left it pretty dry in the summer (i have combination skin too).
The moisturizer I LOVE and am telling everyone to get is La Roche-Posay’s Hydraphase Legere. It smells great, leaves your skin hydrated without feeling sticky or really oily.

I love NARS blush not in Orgasm, which I think has too much shimmer, but in Gilda which is about the same shade without the extra glitter.

Hi,thanks for the suggestion I will definitely take a looksie. I am allergic to make skin care product and make up, so I try not too test too much…lol

As for Cetaphil,It is wonderful but if you have break outs and your skin is not dry try Cetaphil for acne and oil skin…I find it to be better and control acne.

  9. Tina { Luphia Loves... } says:

thanks for sharing your beauty secrets!! i love beauty posts :) the one product i can't live without is origins modern friction, it is one of the few product i buy over & over again (since i'm such a beauty junkie & there are so many products still to try!)

    :)

  10. Megan Cassidy says:

Mine is DiorShow Mascara in Black Out! Cannot live without! Also MAC makes GREAT lipgloss! I think I am going to have to try that eyecream!

  11. Anthea says:

I have been inspired by your and Ashley’s skin care tips! I am trying to use less and use a night creme and day creme. I have been using body shop a lot just cause I know and trust it and I am not sure about all of these Japanese labels! AIIE! Great feature though…thanks for sharing! TO in 7 months!

  12. seriouslyright? says:

anything nars is amazing. Their blush and bronzer is pretty incredible :)

  13. Emz says:

    I love that first picture!!

  14. kj says:

I’m in love with that YSL gloss, the pink is so pretty!

Just a suggestion…I work in a spa and every facialist will tell you to use a scrub first and then the mask…the mask penetrates better that way. But your skin is gorgeous so I guess stick with what works for you!

Thanks so much for posting it even though you are busy with school:)

  20. hikari says:

The YSL Pure gloss is slightly sheer but due to it being sparkle free I really prefer it to the Glossimer if you want to wear it to class:) Also I have the No.3 in coral but all of the colors looked really pretty to me except the plumish one which I felt was too dark for a day to day basis. Bobbi Brown also has some great blushes along with Nars if you are interested in her brand. And ’bout the chanel’s quad- how is the lasting power of the shades? Do they flake? Thanks.

  21. black vanilla rose says:

Some great products there… I swear by Rosebud salve and won’t leave home without it. I’ve been looking for a new makeup compact so may have to try Chanel out next xx

  22. Janica says:

Nars blush is the best.. For skincare, i’ve been using Dermalogica like ages.. It’s the best for me! For foundation i love Dior the most. Best mascara definitely goes to Lancome. Eyeshadow, I heart Nars too..and bronzer I prefer M.A.C. Lip Color definitely Nars. Before Foundation, I have Laura Mercier Foundation Premier or Benefit Dr.Feel Good.. Btw, i love St.Ives scrub too.. :)

Would love to try out Chanel foundation soon..

    xoxo
