Hello Darlings,

The past month has been a whirlpool of unexpected life changing events. Although I was really hoping to avoid the topic, I realize that it is best to just mention it and leave it at that. I know that some of you have figured it out…

… Andrew and I did break up some time ago. People change and grow apart, but Andrew and I will continue to stay friends. With respect to Andrew, I will not be answering questions in regards to this, but thanks everyone for all of the support during this difficult time. However, I must add that I am content and happy in my current position :)

Everything happens for a reason and a person must continue to enjoy beauty of life even in difficult times. This also explains the lack of posts recently, but I am back and excited to continue sharing my love for all that is cute and pretty :) Since the elephant is out of the bag… I would like to share today’s outfit :)

I am wearing:
Marc by Marc Jacobs “Bleecker Street” Tee—from Marc by Marc Jacobs store on Bleecker Street, NYC
Rich & Skinny Cardo Pants in Putty—from revolveclothing.com
♥ Talula Army Jacket— from Aritzia
Candace Ang Large Bow Zipper Headband — from Holt Renfrew Last Call
Barba Rihl Purse—from Holt Renfrew Last Call
Juicy Couture “Rose” in natural snake—from Neiman Marcus
Michael Kors Watch—a gift

Today was filled with bunch of errands from taking Johnny (my Cocker Spaniel) to the veterinarian, a million of doctor appointments and a quick stop at the mall. I wish I could say that my shopping trip was all enjoyable, but at one point it was quite opposite! I don’t think that I’ve ever exited Michael Kors store feel sooo angry and frustrates in my entire life.

In all honesty, I’ve been facing some serious bad luck in the Michael Kors shoe department! First it was my painful disaster with “Jennings” and now my favorite pair of nude “Violet” is ruined due to poor craftsmanship. I love the shoes but after attending friends backyard birthday bash… my entire gold finishing on the heels came off! I am not sure how it is possible that the varnish came off the shoe :S But basically, I walked away with plastic exposed heels! Yikes! I tried to get them fixed but no one is willing to touch them, claiming that the shoes must have a defect :S And Michael Kors store is “investigating”. Not only did I lose my favorite summer shoe but also my favorite shoe designer. I am not sure what it is but lately I’ve been incredibly disappointed with the quality of Kors shoes!!!! Can I say heartbreaking! I am really hoping that Michael Kors can resolve the problem, because in all honesty…I walked out of the store feeling blamed for wear and tear of shoes! Despite a fact that I have worn them only twice! Advice: if you own Violet shoes stay away from grass…you might end up with plastic-exposed-heels!!!

How terrible is this???? *tear tear*

On a more positive note, I have added a few cuties to my wardrobe and purse!!!! Couldn’t wait to share with you!!! Let’s just say that I’ve been going a bit too much of retail therapy :)

Coach “new Julia” medium Wallet—from Coach

- I’ve finally decided to splurge on a wallet and pick up one at Coach in a very bold red color. I love the pink interior :)

See by Chloe Bow Bloomer Shorts—from Aritzia

- I’ve wanted these babies for a while but the hefty price tag always turned me away, well that is until I found them on sale for $110 at Aritzia. Can’t wait to wear them out!

Charlotte Ronson Dietrich Sandals—from shopbop.com

- I love them, so casual and cute. Can’t wait for them to arrive!

P.S. I will be getting back to the e-mail and comment throughout these days! Once again, thank you for the support!!!!

Wishing Everyone a Lovely Day!!!

With Love…

Marta

  4. Lauren says:

I love the casual outfit. The pants are amazing, I want a pair myself now. How do Rich and Skinny jeans wear? I have always wanted to get a pair but I am very picky with jeans as I have bought too many bad ones in the past and have wasted so much money :(

  5. Sherin says:

I’m so sorry to hear that you 2 broke up.

  6. Sorry to hear that! You still look lovely, though!

I am sooooo annoyed with Kors these days too! I recently picked up a pair of flats which I wore during my week stay in Toronto. Seriously… I wore them maybe 3 times throughout the week and the front of the shoe is completely ruined! I wouldn’t be surprised if my toe poked through the next time I wear them.
I brought them back to browns and they said it was “my fault”!! It’s not like I was running a marathon in them!
    So disappointed…
Anyway, I love the outfit. You look great as usual!

I’m so sorry to hear that Marta! I hope that you’re doing well (:
I’ve been having a bit of problems with Kors shoes for a while, they just don’t make them as comfortable as they used to. I thought it was just me, but I guess its a problem for a lot of people. I hope the people at Michael Kors figures this out asap. I love the bright, cheery wallet you got, its so cute!

Marta, i have to say i’m truly in awe of you for being so strong during such a difficult time. Not going into details, my boyfriend (who was also my bestfriend) and i broke up recently too and at first i was in a complete state of mess and devastation but then i realized, life goes on. As cheesy as it may sound, i think i’m starting to believe in the saying that “good things fall apart so better things can fall together”. And with every obstacle that we meet and overcome in life, we become that much stronger of a person.

    Keep that head up! :)

You are right…people change and grow apart… the awesome thing is that you hopefully grow/learn from it … AND you are both confident/big enough ..whatever you want to call it… to remain good friends! I absolutely LOVE your blog so regardless of how often you post, or if you need time away,..I will always be checking back every now and then :p … and to end off with something “fashion related”… I am loving all your recent purchases and just style in general! It has changed/evolved so much…. =)

I too am a big believer that everything happens for a reason, all you have to do is follow your heart and everything will be as it should.
Hope you have a lovely week darling x

  13. Cordelia says:

    Dear Marta,

I haven’t been reading your blog in a long while, but I will always be back. :)

I am truly sorry to hear of all the tumultuous things that you have been going through lately… wishing nothing but true happiness for you all your life, even though there may be the occasional rain-cloud. I lost both my grandmothers last year, and it was a very saddening moment indeed.
On one last note on this subject, I’m glad to read that you are keeping your chin up. :)

That is terrible about those shoes.. it’s nice to know that Michael Kors spray-paints plastic and charges a hefty amount for his shoes… I am not impressed, and I hope that his customer representatives resolve your dilemma fairly… :(

Also, I love-love-love that headband!! I covet it for my own! ;)

  14. Tina says:

I’m sorry you’re going through such a difficult time Marta, yet, you still manage to stay positive and I admire your strength. I know what you mean about people changing and growing apart - I agree that things do happen for a reason sometimes and well, we just have to cope with it and keep our heads up. I’m happy that you and Andrew are still very close though, and I wish you luck on the rest:)
About the outfit, I’m loving the casual chicness of it; you’re always so put together and the cargos are adorable. Also your new shoes are really cute - I’m usually not a fan of cork heels but I love them.
Sorry to hear about the shoes! I’m surprised as the poor manufacturing as well. It seems like they forgot to put sealant on the gold varnish or something :S

    Tina

  15. chiara says:

I so admire you for such a positive attitude in sucha a difficult time!
I would be outraged by what happened to your shoes. It’s almost as id the water in the grass solubilized the gold polish? I cannot believe at Michael Korrs’ they haven’t sugegsted to offer you a replacement yet!

  16. Magdalena says:

I’m sorry to hear about you and Andrew. But it’s wonderful to see that you are being so positive about it. You are right everything happens for some reason. Enjoy your summer girl! Hugs!

  17. Roxanne says:

Just to say you I love your blog. You’re wonderful and your page is .. perfect !
(sorry for my mistakes - I from Montpellier (france)).

    Congratulation !!

    je t’embrasse ! bisou bisou !

  18. Holly says:

the heels have an ombre look to them, embrace it.

  19. Erick says:

Hi ! we are all with you ! Regards.

  20. Sasha says:

Break-ups suck and there’s no way around it. Don’t feel sorry for yourself or the situation. Everything happens for the best. Remember that you always have yourself, and from what I can tell, you’re a wonderful, fabulous, intelligent woman.

On a lighter note, I love that Marc Jacobs tee. I like the dressed-down look on you ; )

  21. Marta, dear, I hope that much joy will come your way… you are such a beautiful person, and deserve so much! I love the items you recently picked up, and about the MK shoe disaster, the same thing happened to my Mom! Last year, she purchased the heeled gladiators in cream, and the same thing happened! She bought them at a boutique store, not a MK store, but never brought them back… I wonder why the heels were so poorly done? I adore his shoes, too, but wonder now :/

Wishing you a great week, with maybe a little surprise or two thrown in :)

    xoxo,
    Sarah

  22. Becca says:

I am sorry to hear that - I hope you’re doing okay! Have to say, retail therapy is generally my solution as well, and you have some great picks here. I LOVE the see by chloe shorts - amazing!

  23. Jules says:

    Hey Marta,
I admire your strength throughout this whirlwind of a difficult period.
Know that, like you said, everything happens for a reason, and that every relationship is a learning experience. Life is a lifelong learning journey!! :)
PS. love the coach wallet, i need to be getting my own! :)

  24. Jen says:

So sorry to hear about the separation… break ups are so hard. I feel ya, girl. Keep your head up and it’s great that you two have decided to remain friends.

Onto the MK shoes- that is totally unacceptable! I would probably have been a lot worse than you in the store if it had happened to me! You should not feel blamed under any circumstances… the staff there do not seem to be very professional.

Anyway, cute new purchases, especially those See by Chloe shorts. So adorable!

  25. That is too bad Marta but you know what, you are handling it perfectly. Everything DOES happen for a reason (I know this well). As long as you are happy and content, that is all that matters.

Sucks about your shoes there… designer aren’t always best (My CL’s fell apart, Holt did nothing about it). Ah well….

  26. Anna says:

I’m really sorry for what you have been through but you must know you’re not alone. I mean, which girl in this world hasn’t had her heart broken? I hope from now there is much light in your life…
On the other hand… I love love love your new sandals! I hope they don’t end up as bad as the Michael Kors ones.
    xx

  27. Michelle says:

I’m sorry to hear about the recent events but bad luck can only last for so long. Hopefully everything will turn around shortly. You are dealing with everything extremely well! I’m sorry to hear about the shoes, that would be extremely frusterating hopefully they figure it out at their end!

  28. [...] not so bright of a note, I received a phone call this morning from Michael Kors telling me that the ruined shoes are my fault! Apparently some chemicals ruined them. The bizarre part it that the grass was organic [...]
