This is not a typical post but one that is very personal and dear to me 
Last weekend, Andrew, couple of close friends and I attended a Ukrainian event that celebrated our culture. Part of the dress code was having to wear a Ukrainian traditional shirt called Vyshyvanka (Вишивaнка) which contains Ukrainian ethnic embroidery. The event was a fun-filled party with traditional dancing and music, which in one word was AWESOME!
However the end of the night was a total disappointment…..
That evening I decided to add some fun to the look by wearing my favorite Free People tutu and a pair of my new Michael Kors “Jennings” Sandals. Since it was a party, the look was perfect. The fun skirt perfectly balanced out the peasant-like Vyshyvanka and made the outfit party ready. However, the shoes were a huge NO NO!!! I’ve been wearing Michael Kors shoes since I was 17 and never in a million years would I say, “I really HATE this pair”. After owning over 20 pairs and labeling him as the most comfortable shoe designer, I am totally heartbroken over this pair!
Finding a pair of sandals for this summer was a difficult task. However, “Jennings” were the perfect fit. At the first try, they felt the same way as Kors shoes always feel: comfortable! I loved the irregular nature of the heel and the statement zipper. But with a pleasant start came a horrible disappointment.
After spending few hours wearing them, I could barely walk. When I finally took off the shoes, my feet were bleeding and were covered with blisters and one of the toes was completely numb! Although a week has passed, my toe is still numb (I am seeing a doctor next week) and my feet are still sore. Imagine my shock!!!! Never in a million of years, would I expect Kors shoes to do that to my feet. The amount of damage that I received in 3 hours of wearing these shoes, does not even come close to the pain that I experienced after dancing the night and morning away at Las Vegas on heels.
After complete disappointment, I decided to visit Kors store to get rid of a pair that totally broke my heart and made me doubt the comfort of Michael Kors shoes.I am still sooo disappointed and surprised! Maybe it was my feet that the shoes were not appropriate for, but fashion is never worth crippling my feet over. Luckily, the manager was nice enough to offer a different pair. Although I really loved “Jennings“, I ended up picking up a pair of “Violet” in nude color. And from the times that I have worn them, they are super comfy! I felt responsible to share with you this truly heartbreaking story! Some of you who have been reading this blog for some time, will know how much I adored his shoes and swore by them as being most comfortable! To some this response might seem a bit exaggerated, but I am truly upset.
What are your thought on Michael Kors shoes? Love/hate them?

Hey Marta, I can’t say this comes as a complete shock to me. I bought a pair of his ‘Annabel’ pumps last year after reading your high reviews, and the first day that I wore them to an outing in Victoria, the back of my heel bled (I sized up so that wouldn’t happen), and my toes were rubbed and bleeding. It was so bad I had to buy a pair of ballerina flats at a shoe store as soon as we hit the mall, and without any regret, I tossed his shoes into the rubbish bin in the food court. I couldn’t donate them since my blood was on them, and I was rather annoyed at how ‘poor’ the comfort was. I’m sorry that happened to you too

I love your outfit. Umm I think Michael Kors shoes are comfy, but then again it depends on the type of shoe. I mean I’m sure even a pair of Jimmy Choo’s could hurt. It’s all about finding the right shoe for your foot.

Well, things like this could happen. They’re not fairies out there, there’s also no guarantee for the shoes being comfortable. You’ve been so lucky all these past years, so one disappointment shouldn’t rule your whole opinion on Kors shoes.
I’m surprised they took them back after you actually wore them… At least they have a great service.

I’m Ukrainian, live in Ukraine and love to wear vyshyvankas a lot - with jeans, skirts, shorts, anything. It’s a great base for a unique street style outfit. I’ve come across this post and I just have to tell you - your way of styling vyshyvanka is great! I love the skirt and the jacket, and, especially, this shoes (to bad your legs had suffered, I understand your dissapointment - the look amazing).
