Out With The Cold: FCUK Spring Summer 2012

Hello Darlings,

Continuing with the orange theme, let’s peek into the glorious spring and summer seasons with the new FCUK Spring Summer 2012 collection from French Connection. As I have learned, fashion neither waits nor plays catch-up; we do!

As Milan’s fashion houses parade their FW’12 collections on January 16th, let’s first look at some spring goodies while wearing what will then be considered last season’s fashion. Regardless of the constant play of catch up, don’t we all just love to anticipate what comes next! Isn’t this the reason why fortune tellers exist? To foretell the future; but if only they could predict what Lagerfeld is cooking up right now…

Despite the guessing game, it is this vicious cycle that we love to hate and live to experience: the excitement of seeing that first spring arrival while our cars are stuck in a snowbank. It is in this spirit, that I bundled up in my new Mackage Gloria coat only to be faced by spring and sunshine of FCUK’s showroom.

The spring/summer FCUK is looking bright with orange, as the company brought out countless variations of this somewhat intimidating colour. With the summer colour-block dresses embellishing the hangers, I could feel that green monster rise up in me. I was oh-so-jealous of those living in the southern hemisphere and enjoying the sunshine! As I played around with a brigh orange jumper, I could just envision some lucky lady dancing the night away by the ocean, under the stars.

Great, I am seeing things Maybe it’s for a Caribbean getaway….

of course, not forgetting to bring that fabulous jumper!
