Hello Darlings,
With gusting winds and the indoor/outdoor temperature changes, our skin and hair take the worst of it. With winter peeking through it is important not only to toughen up your wardrobe but also your skin and hair treatment plan.

During the cold season, I find that the basics of skin and hair care must be enriched with a few more products. With sensitive skin and long hair, winter really takes it’s toll. However, over time I have found a few “cold busters” that when used regularly, keep my skin glowing and my hair shiny.
- Micro-Exfoliating Treatment Kit
This two-step peel rejuvenates sun-damaged and hyperpigmented skin. It is the best at-home exfoliating treatment that I have yet to have come across. For times when my skin is drier, I use it every two weeks as opposed to once a week.
- Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Mask
This mask is ideal for dehydrated skin. Typically, I use it twice per week and always after The Microdelivery Peel. I adore how fresh and radiant my complexion looks without the added oiliness.
- Rosebud Mocha Rose Salve Lip Balm
I’ve been a long-time user of Rosebud Salve but this one is my latest obsession. It is infused with the coffee shop flavours of mocha, chocolate and vanilla; making it impossible not to want to reapply. It keeps my lips super soft all winter long plus I adore the natural sheen.
- Redken All Soft Heavy Cream
This softening mask is for dry and brittle hair. I use it once a week to maintain manageability and shine.
- Exit Salon Custom Treatment
For those times when my hair is lacking in shine and does not feel healthy, I visit Rob and Exit Salon for a customized treatment. It is amazing the difference it makes, it is the best $35-40 “investment” and extends the lifespan of your color.
Now that you know my favourite go-to “cold busters”, I would like to find out your secret weapon to staying gorgeous during freezing winter months?
I AM WEARING:
Wilfred Little Moon Chiffon Blouse
Diane Von Furstenberg Roccoco Armour Jacket
Burberry Flare Leg in Dark Indigo Wash
YSL Arty Ring
Z Spoke by Zac Posen Leather Tote
As for the images, they were taken during Dermalogica’s anti-aging seminar at the International Derma Institute. Not only did I learn about skin’s aging process, but also had my make-up done by Flare Magazine’s favourite, Diana Carreira.
With Love…
Marta

Hello Marta,
I think it is very important to have some good weapons against cold. My “cold busters” to have healthy shine hair and smooth skin are:
1)I love Juicy Shampoo from Lush…fruity and keeps my hair shiny and smooth.
2)Neutrogena hand cream…best hand cream for me…light, fast absorbing and non-greasy.
3)Lipstick…this winter obsession is from YSL Belle de Rose nr 8
4) Bath and Body Works lotions…love them all

Hi Marta,
I am dying to get the rose bud salve mocha!
I live in Montreal, but i don’t think its available here yet. Any suggestions on where I could purchase it online within Canada?
Thank a bunch.
Dear Eleni,
The lip gloss is divine. I picked it up a set of three in the Anthropology Store in Toronto, but you can order online here:
