Hello Darlings,

Today was quite beautiful and relaxing.I’ve been spending lots of time with my parents and just trying to take it one day at a time. Thank you so much for the beautiful e-mails and messages, they have truly warmed my heart and placed a smile on my face. I wish I could say that I am fine, but in reality I am quite dazed. However, I am always an optimist. I think that life truly is beautiful and joyful, if you take the time to see it. Therefore, I will be taking the time to focus on myself as this has been a very difficult year.

On a happier note, I am proud to say that today was quite active.

In the morning, my mom and I stopped by a farm to pick up some fresh strawberries and sweet peas. I totally burned my back :P Following out little country adventure,I took the time to get ready and do my hair which made me a feel a whole lot better.

Speaking of hair, I actually henna-ed it few days ago and love the results. Since I am crazy in love with red hair, I decided to try a natural way of dying it by using henna. The process is messy and difficult, but the results are totally worth it. This is my second time and I think that I will definitely be resorting to this method more often. The hair is only this bright in the sun :P I was actually thinking of doing a post about henna for hair, what do you think?

The other day, I indulged in a little bit of shopping therapy…I took the time to stop by Holts and finally pick up a Chanel’s 505 lacquer.Chanel made this color a part of their permanent collection. YAY! I am crazy about and it took me months to get my hands on. Naturally, I made sure to repaint my nails the moment I got home. I am a huge fan of Chanel’s Spring 2010 beauty collection. In March, I picked up their the eyeshadow quad and fell in love. And now the nail polish is the perfect addiction.I have a feeling that I am going to have a hard time getting over this collection, as it is perfection :) And to farther pamper my hands, I picked up the cutest Marc by Marc Jacobs House of Cards ring set….can’t wait to show it to you! A little shopping therapy and cupcake overindulgence were definitely comforting!

As for the outfit, this is a little something that I wore to go shopping and then for a walk with Johnny (my Cocker Spaniel) and parents. I was not in a particularly dressy mood, so I settled on comfy.

I am wearing:
Marc by Marc Jacobs ” You Set Me on Fire” Top—from Shopbop.com
Talula Shorts— from Aritzia, Sherway
Talula Army Jacket— from Aritzia, Sherway
Ash UFO Wedges— from Holt Renfrew Last Call
Coach Swingpack— a gift
Michael Kors Watch—a gift
Chanel Sunglasses—a gift

Well, I am off to relax and read a book….once again, thank you so much for all of the support! I will taking the time this Sunday to respond back to all of the wonderful messages and e-mails :)

Wishing Everyone a Lovely Friday!!!

With Love…

Marta

I’m glad that you’ve been able to spend time with your family and recuperate even a little bit - it takes a long time, though, as I know well.

p.s. your red hair looks lovely!

  6. You look beautiful darling. I use henna on my hair all the time, but because it is very dark, it hardly shows up. This color really suits you! And I love your comfy chic look. I have to say, I was not a fan of the wedges when I first saw them but seeing the way you style them, they look great :) and Johnny is a cutie!!

Oh I have that henna dye from lush.. I haven’t tried it yet. I would love if you would do a post on the actual process.

  8. Aww, I hope that great things come your way—you are such a positive person despite all :)
Love the red hair—I am a redhead too, and laugh when I think of hating it so much as a child,
but now? Adore it! Enjoy this weekend and time with your parents, lovely lady!

I am sorry about your grandpa :( Faith and trust will get you through this.
I love your hair! I’ve been thinking about henna in that color too! But I’m not sure it’ll look good on my pale skin so I’ll stay blonde for now :)

I read this post earlier and saw you wearing that Wilfred army jacket, and I thought, “If someone like Marta who is so elegant and feminine can pull that off then maybe I can too”. Got the jacket on sale at Aritzia and I’ve had lots of compliments on it :) You provide great inspiration, whether through diverse clothing styles or in coping with loss.

    Enjoy Canada Day!
