Hello Darlings,

Although I avoid the topic of family, friends and relationships, those are the most important parts of my life. I feel very blessed with my family and the people that I have in my life. I am especially reminded of this during the holidays.

Being an immigrant, I am separated from my close family by an ocean and thousands of kilometers. Despite this, I remain incredibly close to them…this would explain why Ukraine is always my number one destination when I have free time to travel.Although I did not have all of the family members present, the traditions that we carry on in Canada really do bring everyone together. Being a practicing Greek-Catholic, I do attend church regularly and value my traditions. Keeping up with beliefs and values that have been around in my family for generations is one of the greatest blessings, therefore, the holiday seasons are filled with traditions, family and lots of food.

Therefore, with Easter weekend upon us; I was fully prepared for all of the festivities. And no, I am not referring to preparing the Easter basket that we traditionally bless at the church. I am referring to my wardrobe choices, naturally!

Often, I reserve black for wearing to church, but with such beautiful weather outside I wouldn’t help but bring out my favorite LWD. I think the opportunity to wear a little white dress (LWD) was an ideal way to celebrate the arrival of spring and give my black attire some rest. Along with my white Robert Rodriguez dress was my first pair of Jimmy Choo sling backs. I thought the delicate details of the dress went perfectly with a feminine shoe.

To finish off the look I debuted my new pair of 3.1. Phillip Lim cat-eye sunnies. I’ve been searching for a pair of cat-eye shades for years now but it was not until this pair that I found what I’d been searching for. I felt that this pair in particular was very modern and subtle. The color perfectly contrasted with my red hair and the metal detail on the top added some interest. To say that I am quite happy with this look is an understatement, as I did feel quite proud of pulling it together. Do you know that feeling of pride when you wear one of those closet favorites in a completely new way? Well, this was exactly it.

I am wearing:
♥ Robert Rodriguez Chiffon White Dress
♥ Marc by Marc Jacobs Coat in Sandshell Khaki Trench
♥ 3.1 Phillip Lim Simon Sunnies
♥ Michael Kors Watch
♥ Z Spoke by Zac Posen Leather Tote
♥ Jimmy Choo Izzy Shoes

I feel that this time of the year is perfect for bringing out your girlie side, and to show off a feminine and classic style. Why not bring out that sheath dress, mary janes, and those beautiful pearls? But most importantly, make sure that your footsies are ready to make their grand entrance in an open shoe. Hint hint: get a pedi!!! There’s nothing more disappointing to me then a woman with poorly kept feet and nails. I am not saying that you have to splurge on fancy spa appointments. Take few hours out of your Sunday and get on with it. You can even play a fun movie to keep you company. If you have the extra penny, take yourself out for a mani/ pedi. One way or another, you’ve deserved to spend that much needed time on yourself!

P.S. Ladies, spring has sprung and it is time for warm weather fashion…and of course, I am ready with the summer trend report and my personal must-have coming up next!

If you go to a religious institution what do you prefer to wear???

With Love…

Marta

That is a gorgeous dress Marta! And it looks perfect with those shoes. I love cat-eye sunnies too.
In my part of the world, we wear traditional clothing (salwar kameezes mostly) to go to religious institutions. I am not very religious, but I still take my grandmother to pray 4-5 times a week - it gives me a chance to catch up with her in the car :) . I find it interesting that you wear black to church - for us, black is considered a ‘depressing’ color and we never wear it to any temples or mosques - we normally wear bright colors, and if someone passes away, we wear white (although of course you can wear white at other times as well).

I know you don’t like to talk much about your personal life but it’s fun to hear about your traditions and beliefs!

    Христос Воскрес!

I also avoid personal topics like this on the blog, but for such a wonderful holiday as this I made a little exception too. It’s nice to see that traditions are still being valued too. We don’t have much choice when we’re separated by miles from home.

I also prefer to wear black when going to church, as it’s a neutral color that doesn’t distract people. U really look bright and festive, as it should for Easter!

What a lovely outfit! The perfect LWD to go with those beautiful Jimmy Choo shoes. And most of all I love your red hair: gorgeous! When I go to church I like to wear something simple and classic, in neutral colours, this is in fact my style. Hope you had a lovely Easter and you’re off to a great new week! :) Ada
