Hello Darlings,

Just in time for Mother’s Day, I am excited to give away a pretty DAVIDsTEA bouquet. After all, what could be a better way to show your mother your love than with a handful of pretty flowers…

… and perhaps, a tea cup full of floral delight. Enjoy a PERFECT glass mug of Chrysanthemum Flowers, Mother’s Little Helper, or Mamma Mia with your mom on Mother’s Day. The gift will include a DAVIDsTEA perfect glass mug with a tin of the three floral teas.

For a Chance to Win

Please leave a comment below saying what you did last year for Mother’s Day

Chrysanthemum Flowers

Looking for a new way to say it with flowers? Popular in China since the Song Dynasty, chrysanthemum tea is a time-honoured drink that tastes just as beautiful as it looks. And unlike a traditional bouquet, these little gems actually get better the longer they stay in water. They make for a refreshing tisane that’s delicately floral with a hint of honey. Try it hot or iced with a drop of agave to bring out their natural sweetness.

Mother’s Little Helper

Need a little relaxation? Try running for the shelter of this mother’s little helper. It’s got organic valerian (aka “nature’s Valium”) to take the edge off your 24/7 reality. Plus there’s chamomile, peppermint and lemongrass for an added dose of tranquility. And pretty blue cornflowers just to make you happy. One sip and you’ll feel like you’ve spent the day at a spa.

Mamma Mia

This bright, rosy-pink tea has everything you need to feel loved. There’s calming hibiscus, warming cinnamon and reassuring rooibos. Sweet pineapple, papaya and peaches. Comforting rosehips, apples, elderberries and raisins. Uplifting mallow blossoms. Supportive orange peel. Caring pieces of coconut and almond. It’s a jumble of love and support and happiness. Word to your mamma. Caffeine-free.

* Note: Contest is open to North American addresses only, and closes at 3:00 pm Eastern Time on May 4, 2012. A winner will be chosen by a random number generator.

With Love…

Marta

    Hhmmm… i don’t remember - let’s make this mother’s day special, shall we ? :)

  3. Jillian says:

Last year I took my mom for a mani pedi and she loved it! Every time I go home to visit, we have delicious tea together. I would love to give her the flowers and tea from David’s Tea!

  4. Mandyk says:

I would love to win this:)

  5. Colleen C says:

My mother has celiac disease, which means that she isn’t able to have Afternoon Tea anymore - which is a shame, as it was always one of her favourite treats. So last year, I contacted the Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara on the Lake and arrange for my mom to have a gluten free afternoon tea! Mom, Dad, my husband and I enjoyed an afternoon of sweet treats, terrific tea and great conversation. Mom loved it!

    • Julie says:

I used to live in Niagara-on-the-Lake when I was a little girl and when I left, it was becoming a town of snobs who could care less about people. That was sixteen years ago. In recent years, I have found that Niagara-on-the-Lake is a pleasant, friendly town once again and are very accommodating. I am very glad that the Prince of Wales Hotel was so kind and accommodating to you and your family. I am proud once again to say that I used to live in Niagara-on-the-Lake :)

    • Thanks for the comment Colleen (but sorry to hear of your mother’s health issue). How was the Prince of Wales Hotel? I looked into doing my own Niagara on the Lake weekend getaway just a few days ago!

      • Colleen C says:

Thanks Marta! Mom does fine as a celiac. She was diagnosed about 6-7 years ago, so the learning curve is behind us now. :-)

The Prince of Wales is beautiful and I would highly recommend tea there if you are spending a weekend in NOTL. If you are looking for places to stay, you might also want to look at the Queens Landing. It’s so pretty. Or White Oaks, which is farther out, but has awesome amenities, or possibly even Jordan which is really nice.

May is the Wine and Herb month in Niagara, so get a passport and tour the wineries while you are in the area. Oh, and if you are going for tea, book well in advance. It is impossible to book on the day of.

If you like afternoon tea, the very best we have found in the Central Ontario area is at the Millcroft Inn in Orangeville. It’s fabulous. And if you are looking for a weekend away… ;-) its really nice!

  6. troy coughlin says:

lat year we made breakfast in bed for mom. lots of fun making breakfast with a two year old. this year should be a lot better.

  7. Alanna says:

I moved to Toronto 2 years ago, so unfortunately I was unable to be with my Mom last Mothers Day, I did however, send her a bouquet of carnations, and daisies, and a handwritten letter. We also talked on the phone for about 2 hours. :) <3

  8. Rose Holloway says:

Last year my mothers day was spent with my Mom at my house and my grown children.
They cook for us while we garden :D

  9. Nicole says:

Last Mother’s Day I got my Mum a big bouquet of black eyed susans

  10. Megan says:

Last year my mum and I went on a nature hike through a lovely piece of woodland, watched The Lord of the Rings (which is her favourite film), and I made her dinner.

  11. Gillian says:

Unfortunetly I couldn’t be with my mom on Mother’s Day last year, so I bombarded her with texts, emails and facebook notes about how much I appreciated her, and what she means to me. I also sent a card with lottery tickets and scratch tickets in the mail in hopes that when she won, I’d get 10% :) She won $2 and sent me 2 pennies in the mail for me lol. My mom is my greatest inspiration, rock and influence in my life. I have an amazing relationship with both my parents, but my mom is the one I go to every time there’s a ripple in my pond.

  12. Misty says:

Last year, for mothers day, I surprised my mom by going down for a visit (I live a 6.5 hour bus ride away)
I showed up with a bunch of flowers (my mom loves flowers!) and some tasty cupcakes, and I thought my mom was going to cry she was so surprised!
I’m not going to be able to do that this year, so I know she would absolutely adore a beautiful bouquet from you :)

  13. Katie says:

I was away at University last mothers day I sent my mon a card. I would like to do something great this year !! :)

  14. Lysianne says:

I rarely see my mother, who lives over an hour away (which is a lot with my student/beginner teacher schedule!) Last year, I took my mom to her favorite brunch restaurant and we spent the day shopping, like when I was a teenager (I wasn’t the rebelious type as you can see!)
I had some rough time with my mother as I grew up. She made some huge step towards being a better person and mother. I am now all grown up (as some might say. Not sure if I agree) and as I’m not getting ready to be a mother myself, I’m looking foward to learn from, maybe not the best mom in the world, but certainly the best one for me. I don’t have the perfect mother, but I only have one and I love her. I certainly don’t tell her enough though…

(Sorry if I made mistakes. English is not my first language)

  15. Julie says:

For the 4th year in a row my mum will be away for Mother’s Day! We always celebrate when she comes home with a meal together and some flowers. My mum loves flowers! I think even more than the flowers themselves, she loves arranging them in a vase. :)

  16. Ashley says:

The whole family came over, she got
Loads of flowers! Than we went on a family
    Hike in the beautiful mountains!

  17. Erin McCluskey says:

Okay, so last year I celebrated Mother’s Day reflecting on my mother. Although she is gone(but never forgotten) it was a special day. My husband and children bought me the Mamma Mia tea. It was a perfect day sitting, drinking and reflecting. It’s funny how a cuppa will do that. After having my time with my mother, we then proceeded to celebrate me, where my children had surprised me with a “we’ll take care of dinner Mom” (hehe). Well that was my day.

  18. Ian Erickson says:

Last year for Mother’s Day we made my mom a lovely breakfast in bed and watched “her” movies all day (it was rainy)!

  19. lara says:

My mom’s birthday is May 8 — right around Mother’s Day every year. She’s always so sad she doesn’t get two separate celebrations, but this would be such a beautiful gift for me to give her to celebrate her motherhood!!

  20. Karleena says:

Last year I surprised my mom with a colourful bouquet of her favourite flowers, and then we drove to see some ice bergs, and then to get ice cream.

  21. Florence says:

Last year, I took my mother and mother-in-law out to lunch and brought them both flowers.

  22. Laura says:

Last year for Mother’s day my mom and I had brunch, went flower shopping for her garden and then visited my Grandmother’s grave together :)

  23. Megan says:

Last year, my sister and I made a pork tenderlion roast for dinner and enjoyed a day on the lake. Relaxing to the max!

  24. Chrissy says:

Last year, I bought my mom a pound of tea: 8oz Assam (her favorite), 4oz Darjeeling, and 4oz Ancient Forests (to try something new).
Mother’s Day fell right in the middle of my final exams, and I had an exam on Saturday morning, so she came to visit me for lunch on Saturday. We went to this great Indian restaurant, and then went back to my dorm. I presented her with the tea and we sat and shared a cup of tea before I had to get back to the library.

  25. njm says:

Last year my mom and I went out for a lovely brunch and shopping. Then dinner with my 92-year-old nonna!

  26. Desiree says:

My sister and I got my mom a necklace and some mint chocolates :) We put the necklace in a really small box and put that box in a bigger box, and that one in a bigger box, and so on and so fourth. She had a pretty fun time unwrapping it :)

  27. Chantal says:

My sister and I gave our mom a basket filled with all the tools and ingredients necessary to make sushi rolls. Then we gave her a hands-on sushi making class In her kitchen after which we tasted our confections. Accompanied by a cup of green Sencha, naturally!

  28. Angela says:

Last year I brought my mom some gorgeous tulips and a bunch of at home spa things for her to pamper herself with and had a girl’s day. :)

  29. Sarah says:

  30. Mélanie Chartier says:

  33. jessica bolychuk says:

I was away studying last year in France and my mom happened to be visiting during mothers day. I had saved up for severa months and I surprised her with a trip to Paris. I toured her around the city and we laughed and took pictures the whole day. It was the best bonding experience we’ve ever had!

  34. Jenn says:

I woke to my girls bringing me breakfast in bed and then had a lazy Sunday withy my family.

  35. emilia says:

My Mom lives overseas, so as always for Mothers Day (which is later on in May, different date than here) I called her on the phone and we had a long chat about everything and anything…
Being a Mom myself I could not ask for a better gift as it has been given to me last year - it was the day of my daughterst First Holy Communion… we had a family gathering and celebrated all the mothers in our family. :)

  36. Karen says:

Last year I was shleping sandbags, trying to save our cabin from flooding. This year has got to be better than that!

  37. Tiffany says:

Last Mother’s Day, my sister and I made a waffle breakfast with all the toppings. Afterwards, we decided to take a leisurely stroll in the ravine for some quality family time!

  38. I love DavidsTea! The flower teas sound so good!
My daughter is born in early May, so we had her first birthday party on Mother’s Day! It was great for the whole family (and both grandmas!) to come together and celebrate Delilah’s first birthday, and spend time with all us Moms! This year, D’s birthday party is on Mother’s Day again, and I have a feeling it will become a tradition to celebrate her birthday on Mother’s Day. I look forward to future parties/brunches with D, my mom, my MIL, and I.
    Thanks for the giveaway!
    -holly

  39. Kristi says:

My Mum lives in England so I don’t often see her on mothers day. Last year I found out I was pregnant with our first just before mothers day. I sent my Mum a book called ‘all about Mom’ where she could fill out all kinds of things about herself - what her favorite food is, where she met my dad, what she wanted to be when she grew up, etc. I told her it would be a great way to teach her future grandchild all about herself as he got older :)
She will be here this mothers day and I’d love to gift her this yummy sounding tea. Thanks for the chance.

  40. Jackie Van Brunschot says:

Last year I was unfortunately in school for Mother’s day, so I couldnt do anything special for my mom. But a couple of years ago, I gave her a spa day at home-massage and facial (with cucumber slices and everything) and a bag full of beauty products!

  41. Nikki says:

  44. Bernadette says:

Last year was spent gardening while my husband tended to
the household chores. It’s always a day celebrated with lobster, fresh rolls from a local bakery and homemade salads. My favorite traditions!!! Of course my two gals always wait on my hand and foot! My favorite day of the year!

  45. Marie says:

Last year we went out for high tea! It was quite lovely!

  46. Holly says:

Ooh what a lovely giveaway! My Mom adores DavidsTea and I know she’s had her eyes on these new ones!

Last year for Mother’s day we had a nice dinner together & my Nana joined us, too! Maybe this year we should watch some old home videos together with a mug of tea!

  47. Erin says:

Last year for Mother’s day my mom was in Mexico, so I couldn’t spend time with her. I sent her an e-card though, and when she came back I bought her a tin of Sencha green tea (one of her favorites!). My boyfriend and I went out for breakfast with his mother and the family, so I did still get to celebrate with A mom, even if it wasn’t MY mom.

  48. kristine says:

My brother, sister and I did the same thing we have done every mother’s day that I can possibly remember … we made her breakfast in bed! (With at least one flower, and her gifts of course) & then proceed to sit on top of her covers & eat it with her.

My brother and I were still living with my mom, but even since my sister moved out she’ll spend the night before.

This year we’ll all be too far apart and in too many different houses to do that though :(

  49. Lydia says:

Last year for mothers day, we went out for dinner at the usual restaurant, Red Lobster. This year my sister and I are both graduating from university and we want to do something very special for our mother, this would be a great first step!

  50. Shelley says:

Instead of paying an inflated price for a Mother’s Day brunch, I held my own! We invited our two closest friends and shared a gorgeous brunch on a glorious sunny day. Everyone brought a delicious dish. We sat and ate and soaked up the sun while the kids ran around and played in the yard. Then the moms and kids went to a nearby nursery and we treated ourselves to some bedding plants. We then finished the day off by meeting the men at a park where the kids played and we all had ice cream. A perfect day shared with my closest mom friends, our loving husbands and beautiful children. It’s going to be an annual event!

  51. Amy W says:

I was away in Muskoka working last Mother’s Day. My sisters and I brought my parents up to the resort I was working at, got them a room, flowers and dinner so they could have a peaceful Mother’s Day weekend.

  52. Marie-Eve says:

Last year on mother’s day, I baked my mom cupcakes !

  53. Brooke P says:

Last year I swooped my mother and sister away for a relaxing day at the spa (with no men or kids to ruin it!). We had 1 hour massages, 1 hour facials then the 3 of us spent an hour in a room together getting pedicures! It was the one time of the year without any worries, stress or people to ruin it!! They were very grateful.

  54. WandaB says:

Last year my birthday was on Mother’s Day. I was actually born on Mother’s Day!! To celebrate, my family took my mom and I out for dinner at our favourite restaurant and gave us some breathtaking bouquets, too!!. It was a very special day for all of us … especially since my mom was 84 years old last year and by the time my birthday falls on Mother’s Day again, she may not be around. I hope so, but you have to celebrate when you can if you want the memories!!

  55. Cathie says:

Last year was a difficult time for my mum as my dad passed away in May. We sadly didn’t get to celebrate, but this year, my siblings and I are planning on getting a few special somethings for her.

  56. Kate says:

My mum and I often celebrate mother’s day and my birthday at the same time. Llast year I didn’t see her on the day so I sent flowers. This year she is coming to visit :)

  57. Jacquelyn says:

    Mother’s Day brunch. Om-nom-nom-nom.

  58. Bridget says:

I can’t for the life of me remember what we did last year for Mother’s Day. I have been trying to think of something to do this year and this is such a sweet idea. I’ve never been to Davids Tea before but my mom adores tea so maybe I should check it out!

    • Hi Bridget,

If you can’t make it to a store, DAVIDsTEA has a great online store and you can get great gifts shipped for $30 so it’s worth checking out. Maybe even better to surprise your Mom with a package received by mail…

Hope you have a great time with your mom this year!

      Marta

  59. Tegan says:

Our mothers day traditions: Fancy Brunch!

  60. Elizabeth Ezekiel says:

Last year for Mother’s Day, I spent the day with my 2 year old daughter and my husband. We don’t get much family time because my husband works a lot, and when he’s home, he’s doing work on the house. It was nice just to have a relaxing time, with just the 3 of us!

  61. Thai says:

Last year I hubby and my kids (then 8mos and 3 years) took me out for brunch. Home, the when my son went down for a nap, my brother and I took our Mom out for coffee and dessert. Love spending time with my Mom…we talk every day, at least once ;)

  62. We had just moved into our new house and my parents came to visit and help us set up. Hubby got me a set of glass mugs with tea infusers and a canister of David’s tea Read my lips.

Then we got sushi for supper because it’s what my mom and I really like and the boys got steaks.

Low-key, but nice enough for us!

  63. Jessica says:

Each year on Mother’s Day, my siblings and I cook for my mother and I make her a card. She loves it :)

Bought her a yummy cake and pampered her for the day at home!

  65. Jasmine says:

Started the day by making my mum breakfast in bed and then spent the rest of the day shopping at her favourite waterfront town :)

  66. Amanda says:

For Mother’s Day last year I invited my Mom and Dad over for a full 3 course meal that I made from scratch. I broke out my beautiful wedding china, stemware and silverware, and had the table decorated with all her favourite pastel colors with a beautiful floral centrepiece. She loved everything, and all the work was worth it to see the smile on her face :)

    • Sounds very sweet Amanda. What did you make??

And better yet, plans for this year??

      • Amanda says:

I did Portabello “skins” (Like potato skins, but done with portabello mushroom caps, SO delicious!!), Spicy Chicken Curry and then finished it all with mini strawberry cheesecakes :) It was all Weight-Watchers friendly too!
This year I’m planning a tea party with my Mom and a family friend who can’t travel to be with her kids. I can’t wait to break out the fancy teacups lol

  67. Hello, last year I took my mother to Afternoon Tea at the Windsor Arms Hotel. We sat in a lovely room and indulged. The tea was wonderful, I had one called Black Velvet which I’m still savouring since last year! Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful, hard-working and loving moms~ you deserve it! :)

  69. Savannah Kiez says:

Last year for Mother’s Day the whole family went to Canmore, which is a charming little town in the Rocky Mountains.

  70. Kathleen T says:

#MothersDay tradition; mum always gets the first icecream cake of the year, she is just that special to us! We always get a goofy character on it that has nothing to do with mothers day :) Last year we got her one with a unicorn on it that said have a magical mothers day!

  71. Emily says:

Last year for Mother’s Day I gave my mom a sewn (by me!) zippered pouch made from music note fabric. On it I hand stitched a felt heart. She’s a musician and she loves my sewing.

  72. Janelle K says:

I honestly don’t remember what we did for Mother’s Day last year. I think my husband and I took our boys over to visit at my parents’ place, and had a low key kind of day. I’d love to win this for my mom. She’s the one who introduced me to DavidsTea, and I think she’d love this!

  73. Jeannelle says:

  79. SweetKaro says:

I study abroad (I’m not originally from the US), so I could not be with my mom last year to celebrate how amazing she is. I had however organized a flower and cake delivery on Mother’s Day with her favorite flowers (daisies) and her favorite cake (French vanilla), and we video chatted for a couple of hours. It is hard being away from her, but I appreciate her encouragement and support.

  80. maria says:

I got my mom a gc to her fave store!

  81. Maria C. says:

My husband and I try to give equal time time to both of our mothers but it’s hard since we all live in different cities- and in opposing directions to each other! We usually take turns each year on the actual day and the other mom gets a special visit and lunch out the week before or after Mother’s day. One year we tried to visit both moms in one day and it nearly killed us- lesson learned!

  82. Masheed Salehomoum says:

Last year for Mother’s day, my sister and I took our mom to brunch at Granville Island, gave my mom a hadpainted mug we made at Bella Ceramica and three wonderful teas from David’s :)

  83. Lilly says:

Took my mom out to her fave restaurant, Red Lobster, for some good old family time!

  86. Julie says:

Last year I had just lost my job, but I still spent some money on my mother. We went out for lunch after my dad did his church service and then to Chapters where I picked up a lovely pale blue shawl (my mother will often accompany my dad to the weddings he does and if they are outside, she often gets cold so I thought that was perfect for her), a box of little butterfly shaped cookies to enjoy with tea, and a butterfly card. My parents live 45 minutes outside of the city where I live and my dad worked, and my boyfriend was away to surprise his mother (who lives four hours away from us) so I decided to go home with them. It was a lovely day and the cookies were delicious with our afternoon tea at my parents’ home.

    • You sound like you are such a sweet family Julie.

Sorry to hear about your job, but a year later I hope things are going well for you!

      • Julie says:

Not so much, still no job :( But I still have a home and food with my boyfriend so my life is pretty good that way :)

I will still be spending Mother’s Day with my mom, I’ll be heading home for the weekend most likely and then I will probably bake something that she loves! Oh and I’ll be telling her how much I love her and how grateful I am for having her!

  87. Katya says:

Last year I took my mom out for a nice dinner and got her a bottle of her favourite perfume (J’adore Dior). Unfortunately this year I will be out of town for mother’s day, but I would like to make sure that she has a very special day! :)

  88. Stephanie says:

My sister and I brought my mum breakfast in bed. We also made her favourite cake in cupcake form. My mum doesn’t like things to be extravagant, so it is the small things that make her happy.

  89. sarah-anne says:

last year we spent Mother’s Day cuddling with my newborn: 3 generations and lot’s of love :)

  90. Desi says:

I live a 6 hour flight away from my mom, so we don’t spend many mother’s days together. Last year I sent her a card and a bouquet of flowers and donated to a women’s shelter in her name. I am going to become a mother soon, and it makes me miss my mom 10x more than I already did!

  91. Caitlin says:

Last year was a bit of a disaster. We took my mom to a restaurant we had heard a lot about. We made it a surprise because we’ve never taken her out to dinner on Mother’s Day before. The food was TERRIBLE. We might as well have been eating Chef Boyardee. To make matters worse, I was starting to get the flu so everyone was a little nervous for me and to be around me. lol We made the best of it, but I think I owe mom a little extra this year!

    • Oh no sorry to hear this Caitlin. Where do you live? Maybe I can send some suggestions, and surely some good karma!

      • Caitlin says:

lol, thanks! We’re taking her to a restaurant we frequently visit and have never been disappointed by to make up for last year. We’re in the Niagara area though so if you have any suggestions we certainly welcome them!

        • I went to the Keg Restaurant overlooking Niagara Falls a couple of times last winter, which has a terrific view. The food and service was good as well.

Can’t remember any of the other restaurants we went to… I’ve been working on organizing a weekend getaway to Niagara Falls just for this purpose of being able to provide recommendations…

          • Caitlin says:

Oh well I’m looking forward to that information! I haven’t been to that Keg but I’ve had good experiences at other locations. Thanks for the input :)

  92. Jennifer K. says:

Last year my mother and I took a trip to the cottage, ordered pizza and watched scary movies all night with a bottle of wine!

  93. Amanda says:

Manis and Pedis! Will probably be doing it again this year :)

Last year for Mother’s day, I brought her a book, I set up the bathroom with 100 tea light candles, rose petals all around the bath tub and made a pot of my Mother’s favourtie tea (Forever Nuts from DavidsTea). After my Mother’s bath, I made her French toast and we looked at old picture albums! It was one of my favourtie days of the year. I’m also very thankful for my mother.

  95. Daphne says:

Last year I baked my mom a cake. Then we went shopping and had a girl’s day out!

  96. Jess says:

Last year I actually won a gift basket from the Cactus Club restaurant, I had to get the most likes on a comment on their page, and I rallied everyone to go to the comment and like it. It had a great book, wine, a gift card for dinner and other things, so I got to take my mom out for a great dinner at a great restaurant, which was fantastic as I’m a broke music student and wouldn’t have otherwise been able to do that for her.

Last year my mom had to work on Mothers’ Day, so while she was at work, I cleaned up the house, did some laundry, and cooked her a nice dinner (all with my brother), so she could come home and relax (and not have to think about all the house chores).

Last year, was my first mothers day. That day my daughter slept in and extra 2 hours which was the best gift of all. I spent the rest of the day going for a walk with my little bundle of joy while my husband made me dinner. I couldnt have asked for a better day.

  99. Jennifer Healey says:

Every year for Mothers Day for the past 11 years, at 9am my brother Kevin, and I bring a lovely bouquet of flowers into our mothers bedroom, along with a tray of blueberry waffles, syrup and a mug of tea :)

  100. Paige Savard says:

Last mother’s day my brother and I took my mum out for dinner and then came home and watched movies (her choices) with our tea, of course <3
    love mum <3

  101. Catherine Kelly says:

My adult children and I made plans to have a family barbecue. That allowed all the mothers (2 grandmothers and 2 mothers) to be celebrated with what they wanted most - good food, good laughs and good time with all of the children.

  102. Last year my sisters and I took my mom for lunch at our favorite Italian Restaurant, Olive Garden. After which I finally gave her the canary yellow china tea set she used to peer through the window of her local tea to admire and say… “One Day”. That day came and she was so very happy. Not sure how’ll top that this year. I know once again we will be taking my mom to Olive Garden. I think for a give I will give her some of my handmade soap she loves so much and the handcrafted teas I blend. There is something a little more special when you make it yourself don’t you think? :)

    Happy Mother’s Day! - Early

    • Hi Rachel
Sounds like a nice tradition you are developing. Yes I agree it’s nice when you make things as opposed to buying, but I think the most important thing of all is just spending QUALITY girl’s time together
      Best wishes

Last mothers day I started a pandora charm bracelet for my mom. Myself, my mom, and my grandma all buy each other charms for special occasions. This year I’ve bought my mom a charm, but I have moved away for the summer and can’t spend mother’s day with her. In order to make the day extra special I bought her a really nice charm, and I’m having it sent home with some nice flowers and a card. I hope this will make her day extra special, as I know she is missing me a lot.

  104. Last Mother’s Day my brother & I took her out for Dim Sum

  105. Noelle says:

Last Mothers’ Day my Mom was out of town, so I spent the day with my 9 yr old son. We made pancakes and went for a walk in the park!

  106. Celine says:

My mother isn’t usually the one for the usual big mother day’s gifts - we always tend to make celebrations like these, father’s days, birthdays included - more like a family occasion. Our tradition has been to wake her up with a brunch and take her out for dinner :) with movie marathons in between :) .

  107. Rebecca says:

Last year, like this year, my Mom is in Europe for Mother’s Day, but we talk on the phone and miss each other. Fortunately, she comes back soon after :)

  108. Dilara says:

Every year, my two younger sisters and I wake up super early on Mother’s Day to make our mom breakfast and treat her to breakfast in bed. We change the menu but it always involves eggs, some sort of fruit salad & tea. We then spend all morning in bed catching up and gossiping. That’s usually followed by a trip to a spa or mall. We cap the day off by watching a girly movie.

  109. Michelle says:

My mom lives 4 provinces away, so I haven’t been able to celebrate a Mother’s day with her in about 5 years. This year she’ll be visiting a few days prior to the big day, so I’m planning something we can do together - maybe brunch and a manicure :)

  110. Carla says:

It would be nice to do something with my mom on Mothers’ Day, but we don’t live in the same city - but I always send her a little present and she waits until I phone on Sunday morning, so we can open it together.

  111. Stephanie says:

Last year I sent my mother flowers through the local public radio station (it’s one of their big fundraising events). But I also came down from Boston (my parents live in NJ) to celebrate the weekend with her!
