In With The Boot…

Also between the study time, family and friends, and millions of errands…I have taken up cooking and learning finance 101

That’s right, when it comes to cooking I am clueless…so I’ve purchased my first cooking book,Cooking Light Way to Cook, and intensively reading all 496 pages of it.Between my art history books, I am also squeezing in some time to read a finance book, Financially Stupid People Are Everywhere: Don’t Be One of Them. When it comes to life, think that besides looking flawless and being intelligent every woman needs to master a skill of cooking and taking care of her own finances. Therefore, I’ve taken up the challenge and will definitely update you on the progress! Yes, be expecting a finance 101 post… If I manage to make some sense on how to be smart with money.

Now moving on to my outfit, I wore this to run errands and then do a little bit of shopping. I was very eager to wear my new handmade Candela “Robin” booties, which just arrived yesterday After purchasing a pair of Candela “Tokyo” Brogues, I fell in love with the quality of leather and craftsmanship that this brand offered. This pair exceeded my every expectation, the quality is exceptional! Super excited I’ve always wanted a pair of Frye Harness Boots, not only because of their historic past but the effortless look as well. The story behind them is:

In the 60′s women began to wear Frye boots in clear and bold defiance of restrictive 1950s femininity.They were a boot that meant strength and power, which women were intent on claiming at the time… Every woman seemed to have a pair, and they were such an iconic part of the decade that when the Smithsonian Institute was searching for items to represent 1960s America, they chose a pair of Fryes.”( Garcia, The One Hundred, pg.94)

However due to their wide fit, I could not find a pair that would fit my narrow foot. As a result, I decided to search out a boot that embodied the spirit and style of Fryes and as a result decided on this pair.

As for the rest of the look, I’ve been obsessed with khaki color palette and especially the way it looks with my cooper/red hair. This might sounds silly but I have been looking for items that beautifully compliment my hair color At least, that is what I had in mind when I picked up this olive semi-sheer top which I love wearing with my neutral lace D&G bra that you can catch a glace on when in direct sun light.

Well, I am off to catch a Maple Leafs game…
