Hello Darlings,

Summer is all about wearing as little clothing as possible, which mean wardrobe choices can be limited. Getting bored with my current summer choices and feeling uninspired… I decided to do something drastic, buying a cropped tank at American Apparel. I loved it so much that I wore it out of the store.

After today’s shopping rendezvous, I am issuing myself a “stay away from the malls” note that I am going to hang up my door…. :P All that I see is SALE SALE SALE.. how can you not go in? Will power you might say….well, I don’t have any :(

After my shopping date with my mom, I made a stop at Godiva to pick up some chocolate… and then we had a walk in a beautiful park in Toronto. I have spent a lot of time with my parents lately, and I cherish every moment with her…

(Eating Godiva chocolate… my favorite with raspberry filling. yum!)

Back to the outfit, it was so hot today… so I didn’t mind being more naked than usual. The new tee and Abercrombie shorts were life savers, plus they are going to come in handy in Vegas (can’t wait, I am counting down the days!).

While shopping today, I realized my 21st Birthday is just few weeks again…. and I panicked. Does this age officially make me a grown-up? My thoughts were overwhelming, so I realized if ever I can wear a cropped tee and tiny shorts this is the time… surely not 10 years from now!

I am wearing:

American Apparel Unisex Tri-Blend Scrimmage Tee in Athletic Grey

Abercrombie & Fitch Cleo Shorts

Tungsten Rings courtesy Superior Weeding Rings Jewelers

A.V. Max Cuff; Candela Tokyo Oxfords

Lovelies, honest thoughts…. what do you think of cropped tee’s???? Yay or Nay???

Oh my, I am so envious of your figure. I think you look great!

I love summer for the same reasons that you hate it - so simple to get dressed! In winter, I hate battling with layers and layers of clothes, I feel frumpy and it takes so long to get dressed! Haha :)

I cherish my family too, and my parents are my best friends as well! I think you are right that family is so precious and you must spend lots of time with them while you can!

Oh, and I turn 21 tomorrow… I am so scared of being a 'grown up' as well!

I absolutly love your blog!! I'm so addicted now! I just recently discovered your blog and literally spent the whole day viewing it goint back to your oldest post!!

  5. Little Rus says:

I love summer, but hate hot weather, too. The clothes you picked really suit you and you look adorable in your hot summer outfit. x

  6. Fashion Moment says:

    Wow, you look so great!
    Fantastic shoots, darling.
    Have a wonderful day,

  7. Frickys says:

Yes, you do look different than usual but hooray for experimenting with clothes. You have a great body and pull it off so well so doesn't matter. I am turning 27 next month but still want to wear my slashed leggings and rock with my outfits :)

Anyway, the cropped tee is amazing and can be combined in many ways!

  8. S.Elisabeth says:

I love this outfit! I don't believe I could quite pull if off (don't have the same waist as you!) but you pull it off wonderfully!
It reminds me of Daisy Duke if she were in the 21st century and not in the south.

Not a fan of the crop shirt at all! After the age of 12 this is so inappropriate. Also kinda inappropriate to post pics with no bra. Very obvious hun!

  10. stilettostetico says:

Wooooow Wooooow Woooooow AND I truly adore the (Scorching) "BOMBnextDoor-esque" vibrancy of (notably) your first picture . . . which perfectly reflects the weather's HOTness (What A BODY, Frankly, What a "Beads of sweat-issime" BODY) !!!!

I definitely think the cropped tee is a bold statement. It looks so great on you! That being said.. I think It's imperative to have a good figure for it. That cut could do all the wrong things for a bit of a tummy. :P

P.S: I just got the same Late Night Mini from AA! So bold!

  12. The Little Fashion Treasury says:

    Mon Dieu, MADAME!!! ;)
Did you get this perfect slim figure while swimming 40 laps? I´m jealous!!!!;)))

Also the dVb skinny jeans looks so awesome on you! The color, the cut… simply everything!!!

Have a beautiful day with hopefully not too much heat at all!!!!

  13. Lip Gloss and Mane Toss says:

Cute cut-offs. I wear my American Apparel shiny late night mini with black tights, chunky boots and a tee. I like your picks!

  15. Sarah Klassen says:

Marta, you look fabulous! Honestly, not too many people could carry off that top and shorts as well as you do. I hope you win!

I just turned 24 on the 7th and I feel, too, if I want to wear something cropped, short, etc, I better do it now!

As for being close to your parents, that's awesome! My Mom and I are inseparable and we are a very tight family - which is rare - enjoy time with your family. I agree that they are so very important :)

Have a fabulous day, lovely lady, and enjoy your chocolate~

  16. Wanderlusting says:

You're lucky you can pull this look off, not many people can. But you're so thin and perfect that no wonder. If I wore that, people would vomit. No kidding.

You hate heat? But you live in Toronto lol. Come to Vancouver, it's mild now (which is sad for me cuz I love heat :P )

  17. sherin says:

Ooo, you look like a perfect ad for Diet coke, lol.

You are lucky you're getting some summer though. London has been kind of murkey lately. But I'm definitely a bigger fan of cold as well.

Its so hard to control yourself with all those sale signs everywhere. I have no will power, so I just keep spendon, hehe.

Ooo, 21. I just turned 21 as well. And I'm scared of being a grown up.

Hello there - I've been an anonymous follower of yours for months now and figured it's time I comment!

I have NEVER seen someone pull off a crop top and denim shorts as well as you did - it's certainly a departure from your regular wardrobe! I think it's wonderful to experiment with wilder pieces, especially when you're young and have a freakin' AMAZING figure. However, in all honesty I prefer your signature style of mixing classics with modern pieces. I can't wait to see how you mix that AA skirt - perhaps a feminine blouse and flats for day/heels for night? Can't WAIT to see what you do with that :)

Keep up the great posts and wonderful looks,

    Sarah

  19. Ashleigh says:

Love that you are experimenting with new looks! I agree with your mom…completely =)

P.s. My friends are voting for you ;) So am I …. I will send in as many voes for you as I can …you totally deserve to win Marta!

I would have to agree with Anonymous… the absence of a bra was a little obvious. As for cropped tees itself, it is not something I would choose for myself.. but everyone is definitely free to make their own choices. The look suits you. :)

Want to send some of those abs my way? You look fabulous of course!

  23. Jessica says:

    LOVE this look!
It's fun to experiment, and dress outside of the usual comfort zone, isn't it?!
What's the point of dressing if we can't have some fun with it?

You have the PERFECT figure for this look, and pull it off perfectly, while also putting your own spin on it.

  24. chantelle says:

Marta… I'm pretty sure we have the same parents but mine are portuguese. Are you an only child as well?! lol!

p.s. my mother practically makes me pull off my jeans and put on short skirts. Even in the winter. I have to wear a pair of leggings, and then two pairs of tights over. But you're so right, we're young. Might as well live it out!

  25. kj says:

You look great in that outfit, not many could pull it off. I have no problem with what you're wearing, but don't bother with the false modesty - anyone who would wear this in public and post pictures of it on the internet is clearly very comfortable with showing skin (as you should be…your body is awesome!). Just rock it and don't be afraid to admit that you like it. You're only young once!

  26. Sasha says:

New York is experiencing a heat wave too. It's disgusting.

That top is adorable and you look great. I just might have to go buy one for myself, Though I'm probably gonna need much more than 40 laps…

    : )

  27. Jess says:

crop tops are tricky but you definately pull it off - good on you!

  28. Macaron Treats ♥♥ says:

I think this is amazing! And you can more than pull it off! Those shorts are awesomely cute, and I adore the cropped shirt!
I hate weather that is too hot!

    xx

I can not stand Summer hit too and I rarely get enjoy Summer since I have an allergy to the direct sun light. I know how you feel, but even though, I have to say that you look so chic and so very breezy in your outfit, I absolutely love it.I can not wait for Fall. Also, I find the way you write about your parents very touching and sweet. Have a very wonderful Wednesday!

  30. Becca Jane says:

I SO agree with the can't wait for fall thing. London has been humid and hot and sticky as well and I can't wait for cool weather so I can layer and wear tights.
