Hello Darlings,

Finally it has cooled enough for me to start parading my hosiery collection. I’ve always adored variety of hosiery as to me they have always been a way to play-up an outfit. Some prefer awesome jewelry I preferred hosiery. Finally, this fall 09 runways were packed with all kinds of hosiery making legs one of the key accessories! This observation of mine was further re-assured by a wonderful article I found in Flare magazine which strictly focused on…. of course, hosiery!!!

Shall we discover….

Balenciaga fall 09; Christian Dior couture fall 09; Jean Paul Gaultier couture fall 09

“Sexy dark sheers are back for daytime.Wear 24/7 with minis and fierce heels. Or pair with one of the new dresses, but keep it modern with sleek booties.” (Flare, October 09)

Chanel fall 09;Elie Saab Couture fall 09; BCBG Max Azria fall 09 3.1 Philip Lim fall o9

“Ravishing red took center stage this season, with many designers opting for a head-to-toe monochromatic look. Pair with charcoal grey or navy separated for a modern spin. Opt for a bold matte colour or don camel tones to break up a dark suit or jumper.”(Flare, October 09)

Miu Miu fall 09; Cynthia Rowley fall 09; Christian Lacroix couture fall 09

“Bejeweled tights with flecks of tiny stones dish up a heavy dose of attitude. Sparkly stockings make a statement with a classic blouse and pencil skirt combo or a tux jacket and edgy leather shorts. Avoid looking over-the-top by stocking to clean sculptured clothing and slick heels.” (Flare, October 09)

Jean Paul Gaultier fall 09;Chanel couture fall 09; Marni fall 09; Jean Paul Gaultier couture fall 09

“Showstopping tights add an eccentric touch to rich tweeds and knits. Lively geometric freshen up day suits and jumpers. Choose those with a dark base and subdued patterns for a more classic take on the trend. Chunky platforms or booties look best with thicker stockings. Caution: horizontal stripes will make your legs look heavier.”(Flare, October 09)

My personal favorites have been variety of blacks and neutrals in all sorts of patterns and materials, however this season I have finally enough guts to try out color!!!But… Not yet!
I have yet to find a pair that will suit me, but for now… I am taking baby steps wearing sheer black pantyhose with grey and blue polka dots :) Tiny specks of color but a huge step for me! Not overwhelming but still adds a great deal to an overall muted and neutral look.
Also one of my fall favorites: cashmere….I love it! The time has come and I am ready to take out my cashmere collection of sweaters, cardigans, dresses, scarf, gloves ….. and a new addition to it is this over-sized cardi that I picked up earlier today :)

I am wearing: Julie&Jack Cashmere Cardi; Nicole Miller Dress; Calvin Klein pantyhose; Michael Kors booties; A.V.Max Cuff; Diamond Studs

I am still excited at how perfect it is…for now I will wear it as a light jacket and later as a layering piece… all I need to do is find an amazing belt to go with it ( proved to be a mission impossible!)

P.S. I also made a purchase that I have been fearing for the past ten years… stay tuned because trust me, even I can’t believe it :S

Well, I am off for some weekend fun…. wearing this outfit.

I wish you all a beautiful week!
With Love…
Marta

Mmmh so about pantyhose, I Always like the idea of a carnal conversation with an exquisite finery . . . AND the way your cashmere cardigan Here seems talking with your bare skin confers such a Seductive aura on it !!!

Tights are wonderful. :) I have such an obsession, and quite the collection. The only downside is that besides those in basic colours, I hate to touch the patterned or textured ones for fear of using them to ruins. :D I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my clothes. They must ALWAYS look new, or I will cry. lol

Love those tights and the cashmere…
I would agree that you should find the perfect belt to go with it otherwise it may look bathrobe-ish! That's what I thought when I saw the picture at first. But without a doubt, you look great as always :)

As far as I'm concerned, hosiery never went out of style to begin with.

"it has cooled enough for me to start parading my hosiery collection"-this made me laugh.
    Well put : )

I love tights! I am trying to be more adventurous and buy lots of different colors and patterns but you are right, it can be difficult to work them into your wardrobe. Although I love tights and often like the more expensive kind, I told myself long ago that I would not spend too much money on tights, because they snag and rip so easily!

As for your latest purchase… I am guessing it is a Chanel 2.55 handbag! ;) Am I right? I just bought one last night! :D

  9. S.Elisabeth says:

Ah good luck with your belt hunt! i can never find a good one!
And I love dark sheer tights best, since they go with everything! But I'm curious to try the embellished!
