Hello Darlings,

Living in Canada comes with it’s fair share of good and bad. To the good, ski season lasts a long time. To the bad, freezing your tushy in -20 temperatures. But then again there is an upside to extreme cold weather, since it present me with a new fashion challenge… So today’s HUNT is finding the perfect extreme cold weather hat!

Photobucket

I have not worn a hat since grade nine, instead just using the hood of my parka. But now that I transferred to a wool coat, my ears are freezing. Thus my search for a warm hat, which is more of a challenge than I could imagine!

In my experience, hats come in limited supplies and in pretty boring variations. Eventually I found this Mariouche Hat with recycled fox fur. The hat cost $100, which is more than I wanted to pay, but it’s cute and really warm!

My ears are toasty warm and surprisingly it never leaves me with “hat hair” or ” flat hair”.

CRAZY or NOT! - it was just too cold.

I am wearing:
Mariouche Hat with recycled fox fur
Gap Sweater in Grey
Corpus Skinnies in Ash
Regina Italia Handmade Italian Leather Bag in Plum
Juicy Couture Leather Boots

Accessories & Beyond Elastic Bracelet Set in Black & Gold

Twilight Update:
I finished the last book of Twilight Saga - Breaking Down - during my trip - I LOVED IT. I really hope Stephanie Meyer decides to publish Midnight Sun - which is Edward’s version of Twilight. If you have any info on this book…. please do share.

I wish you all a wonderful day and stay warm… hehe!!!!

With Love…
Marta

I don’t know if you have already read Midnight Sun partial draft or if you wanna… In case, you can download the firts 12 chapters - it’s not a trick! it’s from stephenie meyer’s web!

On the other hand let me say you look very cute in that hat, despite I would never dare to wear it! It must be too warm! :)

    xx

  2. we wear things says:

cozy and still gorgeous! love the boots!

  3. DaisyChain says:

you make me want to wear hats more often!

  4. Jamie says:

    Hi! I love your blog!
I was going to ask you for some book suggestions.

  5. Dragana says:

The hat is so funny and it looks very warm :)

I dont like the 4 book very much.
stephenies writing style changed a lot, there is no details, and the characters - esme, alice.. they have like 2,3 appearance.
    - edward and nessie - there is no description of the father-daughter relashionship, and I realy do not like the hole happy ending. Bella got everything. A perfect mariage, a perfect and super smart child, the gratest power and a amazing selfcontrol.

Im glad that everyone got theyre happy ending, but it makes me sad that stephenie solves the problems in the form of a child. and like bellas and edwards love was meaningless without Nessie.

But, Im very glad that you liked the books ;)

Midnight Sun - you can find the first 12 chapters on stephenies web page - there are ca. 250 pages, its described up to the meadow scene!

Loooove the hat, it looks amazing, and those bobbles at the ends look wonderful :) Oh oh and stunning bag!! I finished rereading Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Foer, if you haven’t read that I’d definitely recommend it.

  7. Belle says:

That is a gorgeous hat, I also have never worn hats as winter in Australia is never cold enough. However now I am living in France and experienced my first snow so i got a charcoal knitted hat from topshop.
But i love how your hat has the reindeer on it - gives it a perfect winter feel (despite being a winter hat.)

    Book suggestion:
Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, a true story about a woman finding out who she really is while traveling the world - amazing, i bought it for everyone i know at christmas time.

Your blog is one of my favourites, i love your style and the way your write each post :)

  8. Fashion Therapist says:

You look so cute and cozy. I too started reading the books because my friends encouraged me to and LOVE!

  9. Divinity Avenue says:

    I like your boots!

  10. tanya says:

I love the hat…not many people can pull it off so well-it looks fabulous on you!! the hair, the boots, the bag, hot! hot! hot!

  11. marta says:

I am reading the first book and so far I am fascinated.

Some people say the movie isn’t that good, but that’s their opinion, I will watch it too.

  12. ♥ Marta ♥ says:

Dragana: I will have to agree with the change in style and how the book is not as detailed as the first one… I think she tried to make it shorter by taking out parts… Personally, I think that if she made it into two separate book, it would have been sooo much better.
As for the Midnight Sun, thank you so much for letting me know…. I though it was only the first chapter…. I am soo excited to read it during my reading week break ( February)…. Yay. I would also like to thank you for reading my blog and for always leaving me a comment… I really enjoy discussing Twilight with you :) …. Have a wonderful day !!!

  13. ♥ Marta ♥ says:

Anna: thank you so much for letting me know about the 12 chapter… so excited to start reading them in February during the reading week…Thank you for your sweet compliment. I have never thought that I would ever wear such a hat..but I tried it on,out of curiosity and worked out perfectly, lol…Sometimes trying things just out of curiosity, can actually work wonderfully on you … :)

  14. ♥ Marta ♥ says:

Marta: I wish I read the book first and then saw the movie…although the book is amazing… plus it is always fun to see the actual picture. I would recommend seeing the movie… Plus, Robert Pattinson who plays Edward Cullen is an incredible actor. I would recommend seeing the movie…but stay open minded and your will enjoy it.

  15. Nicole Marie says:

at least you look cute in that cold cold weather! im heading to utah this weekend (not quite as cold as canada) and i think i’m going to freeze!

  16. Katie says:

any suggestions for warm, good looking flat boots that are winter proof? this is my second chicago winter and i haven’t found a warm and waterproof boot to adequately make it through the winter yet.

also: my books recommendations are ‘rosemary’s baby’ by ira levin(and everything else he’s written), anything by chuck palaniuk, and ernest lehman’s short stories. i’m going to pick up the ‘twilight’ series thanks to your rave review!

  17. Wanderlusting says:

The Dark Tower Series by Stephen King is pretty good if you like fantasy-tinged books…with a dose of horror.

I like hats, they suit my face because it’s so small but I can’t stand hat hair. My hair is fine and flat so if I decide to wear a hat, I pretty much have to commit to it until I do my hair again!

  18. caroline says:

omg, that is that funnest hat ever! i’ve always relied on the hooded parka too, because i look terrible in hats! but one that cute, i would definitely rock! it looks super cute on you!
