When All Else Fails, There is Marc Jacobs

Hello Darlings,

I am sure every girl can relate to the drama that just when you thought everything was organized and going according to the plan, things get de-railed.

As I packed my suitcase for a week-long hotel stay during Toronto Fashion Week, I thought I had it all figured out! My outfits were colour-coded and organized with all my shoes pre-selected, and for every outfit there was a stand-by. But two days in, my super keen plan was failing me. Nothing suited my mood. I did not want to wear dresses and pretty blouses, I just wanted cashmere and jeans.

The “I just don’t care” attitude is not ideal for fashion week, which as everyone knows is the time to bring out the big guns. And here I was, wanting to use my slingshot. A total fashion faux pas, some would say. What can a girl do when things just aren’t right? No women should ever go against her gut-feeling. For one, I never do.

On Wednesday morning, I was tossing all of my belongings around the room trying to figure out a look, when thankfully my phone rang. My parcel with cashmere goodness and Marc Jacob life-savers arrived. Swear, I jumped for joy!

Finally, I had found an outfit to go with my much loved Dries Van Noten metallic blazer. Let me tell you, I love this blazer to death but boy is it difficult to pair with things! Thankfully, I was ready to catch day three of action, comfortable in my own skin without ever compromising my gut-feeling.

Lesson learned, things will never go according to the plan
