Leave it to a Pro…

Hello Darlings,

Today was spent in the library killing my head with French, honestly all that I can say is do not start a language in a university. It really does take too much time from the rest of the work. Anyways, moving on.... following my grueling study session and an exam, it was all about Halloween costume hunt! And yep, I found myself a costume! So excited :) I love dressing up, I am such a kid at heart.

Getting to the point...because I can ramble for hours :P I always receive a lot of e-mails about two of my Mackage jackets which I am always happy to answer each individually. However, I decided to make a general post just in case others are curious or do not feel comfortable e-mailing ( although I really do love getting e-mails from you!)

From Las Vegas With Love, part 2…

Hello Darlings,

First of all I would like to thank you all for your support on yesterdays post!!! I feel like this is my place to stand up for my personal beliefs and voice my opinion on certain matters, I'm not very good at overlooking things :P Thank you for your sweet words! I adore my blog and more so I adore the new friends ( all of you darlings) that I have made because of it :)

-----------------------------------------------------

This is the last part of my Las Vegas posts!

In the place of sunshine, hotness and dryness... the only thing that is left for a girl to do is stock up on sunscreen, purchase a floppy hat, consume ridiculous amounts of water and most importantly enjoy the beautiful weather :)

Lounging by the pool was probably the best way to beat the heat...and of course, finally have a chance to wear my new Brette Sandler silk cover up.

I am wearing: Brette Sandler silk cover up; Moschino Bikini ; Christian Audigier One piece swinsuit; Juicy Couture Flats; Coach Wristlet; Large Floppy hat from a random store.
Align Center

I am wearing:Kerrigan by Daryl K silk dress; Ruthie Davis Swarovski Crystal shoes; Coach Clutch

Despite a fact that I cannot handle heat and hate walking long distances, I made sure to bring 6 pair of heels and only 3 pairs of flats... brilliant thinking on my part :P Lesson learned, blisters happen after few hours of walking and dancing.... and those fabulous shoes you love so much become a torture device!!! ( Outchy) After experiencing my first blisters in many years after the first night of fun, I resorted to wearing my trusty flats up until the point of going to clubs.

I am wearing: Alexander Wang Chiffon Dress; Juicy Couture Flats;Coach Wristlet;Luc Kieffer Ring

Honestly, at first I could not bear the thought of wearing my favorite Wang dress or a newly favorite tutu skirt with flats... however, not only did I learn to love it, but I also came to understand that it could look undeniably cute and gives a certain touch of effortlessness to the entire ensemble..Honestly, I think that flats can look as wonderful as high heels... I know that this is the worst thing to say, since fashion dictates high heels is the most fabulous thing ever. I do find that flats are the best substitute that is just as beautiful and chic as high heels :) Don't get me wrong, I LOVE high heels... but being a student it is not very comfortable or practical. I do spoil myself by wearing heels to lecture only when I drive.

What do you darlings think? Can flats be as fabulous as high heels?
The big lessons learned:
- Heels are not worth wearing if you're going to cripple your feet!
- Wearing a floppy hat is a smart choice, not only to shield your face from the harmful rays but also to avoid heat stroke!

I am wearing: Maggie Ward Dress; Juicy Couture Flat; Gustto Cokera Purse; A.V. Max Cuff; Floppy Hat from a random store.

As for the rest of the vacation that was spent exploring, eating and lounging... I spent my time in flats and more casual attire! Including my all time favorite Meggie Ward dress... that I swear by! It looks amazing with everything, got to love those pieces that offer you endless variety. From casual to night out this dress is ideal!

I am wearing: Club Monaco Semi-Sheer Top; Abercrombie& Fitch Shorts; Bloch Patent Leather Flats; Chanel Sunglasses.

To top of almost every outfit I wore my floppy hat, religiously. I get heat strokes within minutes of being out in the hot weather. I never thought that I could pull it off or feel comfortable wearing it, but I fell in love. I know that fedora is a hat of the moment, but it made me feel like a teenage boy and really did not suit my style. Soooooo many people make it look a-m-a-z-i-n-g, I just felt awkward unfortunately. In comparison to the fedora, the floppy hat made me feel like a lady :)

By the way, if you're ever in Las Vegas check out the Bellagio fountains... I could watch them over and over and so I did. Andrew got pretty iffy about it :P Honestly, they are sooo stunning (click on the video belong and turn on the speakers). Also check out the Eiffel Tower, the views from there is beyond AMAZING!

I'm off to study French...school is back and stress is already building up!

I wish you all a stunning day!!!

With Love...

Variation of Stripes…

Hello Darlings,

First of all I would like to apologize for the late responses and the lack of posts. As soon as exams finished, research papers started. Yup, I've been bombarded with essays (and it is just starting)...many of which require a visit or two to the Art Gallery of Ontario ( which was recently remodeled by Frank Gehry - so exciting). I am definitely looking forward to aimlessly staring at the work of art for an hour, strictly instructed by my profs. Why an hour? I am not sure... but I will definitely update you on my experience, lol.

Stripe
As for the outfit, well since I spend most of my time today in the library or running for coffee-desert breaks with Andrew, I reserved to pieces that are simple and comfortable. I might give up certain things (ex.dresses and skirts) for comfort but not heels, which I've been wearing throughout winter.I just refuse to give them up just because it is a bit icy outside.BUT like any good sport, hobby, or talent it takes patience and practice to learn how to balance on ice in heels, lol. Don't practice in public... lol, just kidding - Safety comes first.

Why am I talking about shoes, when this post is about my obsession with stripes....lol.

I'm one of those people who doesn't have much color in the wardrobe, but one thing that I do have is variety of stripes... really I have at least a dozen pieces with variations of stripes. I find stripes to be very effortless and chic.

My latest stripe find was this Ralph Lauren top - it is perfection, I am in love.It really does add a touch of interest to an all black outfit :) You will definately see a lot of it. Another session is the leather jacket - I think that it was the best splurge, I wear it all the time.

I am wearing: Ralph Lauren Top; Mackage leather jacket; J Brand 12"Jeans; Moschino Suede Gloves; Accessories & Beyond Bracellets in Gold; Gap Leather Purse; Michael Kors Booties.

Yup, I still wear gloves. I just really love my hands to be toasty.

And since spring is in the air - I decided to brighten up my day. By painting my nails bright pink and to my surprise it complimented the blacks and grays of my outfit perfectly.

P.S. Although I get low lights every few month just to add shine and dimension to my natural hair color... I was thinking of getting a bit of highlights, maybe honey brow?

What do you think I should do with my hair?

Can't wait for the warm weather....

I am so excited for the spring time... and definitely dedicating lots of time to creating my "inspiration list" and "to buy list". I am going through every spring/summer 2009 fashion show and deciding on the trends, colors, themes, etc that I am currently loving and needs o buy!!! This whole process is almost as fun as shopping itself, well in a way...

P.S. I am definately looking forward to this weekend and to have a chance to catch up with your lovely blogs !!!!

I wish you all a beautiful spring day !!!

With Love...

Gifts and latex….:S

Hello Lovelies,

The moment I laid my eye on these latex babies, I knew that my world is about to change.....Well,I always though that I would be the last person to wear latex anything ... but here I am, desperately looking for a pair of latex tights...

<------ so scandalous, and oh so alluring!!! If anyone knows where I can find a similar pair... please let me know, I will be grateful forever. THANK YOU

X-mas Shopping, but why for myself?

While looking for a gift for my boyfriend, I found a new coat for myself by a chance. It is yet another Soia & Kyo ( i love their jackets and they are Canadian) coat and it is slightly similar to my black one but also very different ...Every time I look for a gift, I end up buying something for myself. Although this is my 8-9th winter jacket, I still have yet to find a perfect gift for Andrew. Yes, I suck at buying gift for men... I feel like I have already given him all the classic manly gifts that a girlfriend can get. HELP!

I am wearing:
Soia &Kyo Wool Coat in White
Hayden Cashmere Dress
Moschino Suede Gloves
Michael Kors booties
Gap Leather Purse
Calvin Klein Opaque Tights in Black

Can you believe it, the winter 08 hasn't started and the designer are already showing Pre-Fall 2009 Collections... I am the only one who feels like fashion is getting way tooooo far ahead of itself. I haven't had the time to look at all of the Spring 09 collections and the fall is already out ... Are you serious? :S

Anyways, back I go to studying ... I have a final exam on Monday. UGGGH

I would like to apologize for not being able to respond to the comment quickly enough...I can't wait to get Starbucks on Monday night and read all of your amazing blogs and also respond to all of you sweet comments .

I wish you all a fabulous weekend.

With Love...

♥ Getting Glam with Alexander Wang…♥

" Anyone can get all dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their off days, that are most intriguing." - Alexander Wang

Hello Darlings,

The dressed I purchased is from his first, full ready-to-wear Spring 2007 collection.'Till this day, it's my favorite collection by him and I fell in love with it the first I saw it ... the sheer fabrics, the gentle colors, and the girly look was and still is PERFECTION to me. When I saw this dress, I had to have it ..... and I will admit, it's perfect .Although I love all of his designs, I will always prefer the girly chic over grungy chic....but it is only my personal preference.
<------ There it is ( click to enlarge)

P.S. I would totally get it in that color too and with that blur cardi... if only I would finde'em :)

Although the dress is totally "me", I decided to experiment with my make up ... which was inspired Burberry Prorsum from the Spring 08 show. Since my dress, was very girly, light, and pastel color... I decided to wear light make up but with a touch of purple.

My Take

Got to Love TORONTO!!!

Although I bought this dress for a gala in January, I couldn't wait until then to wear it ... so I decided to wear it to my friends birthday bash this Saturday. So here it is .... :) Made of the most beautiful chiffon and with the most tedious detailing ... this dress is a dream and those tights are the new obsession :)

I am wearing:
Alexander Wang Blush Dress - $465,on sale for $220
Soia & Kyo Z Wool Coat - $330
Michael Kors Booties - $230

Gap Leather Bag - $210
Moschino Sued Gloves - a gift from mom
A.V. Max Studded Cuff - $56, on sale for $28
Diamond/Platinum Studs - a gift from mommy and daddy

It also looks awesome paired with my Soia&Kyo

Hehehe

AS for Make Up ....

P.S. I would like to appologize for the delay of posts and responses, it seems like everything is going wrong for me ... My DOG is REALLY SICK and I've been really worried and freaking out.
But on a happy note, this Sunday I went for BLOGGERS LUNCH and can't wait to share it with you in my next post ... :)

I wish you all a Gorgeous Day !!!!

What + What = Cozy…

Hello Lovelies,

When the weather gets nasty, like today,I don't care what I wear as long as I am cozy and comfortable... haha .... well that's a little over exaggerated.

What+ What= COZY

Here's my formula:

Chuncky Knit + Thin Cashmere + Fav. Pair of Jeans + Comfy Waterproof Boots + Gloves + An Umbrella

=
COZY

COZY and comfy

By pairing all of my favorites I came up with an ideal cozy look that was also appropriate to wear for a meeting with profs., yet another one...
My umbrella also matched my sweater ... hehe

NEED HELP... So, this is my natural hair ( yup,it's wavy) and I usually straighten it.
I need your opinion, which one do you like more...Straight or Wavy?
Honesty is greatly appreciated :) THANKS

I am wearing:
M. Rena Wool Cardi from Mendocino - $170
Hayden Cashmere Sweater - $250, on sale for$64

Cover’em up …. :)

Hello Darlings,

Not since 50s, when fashion was all about prim and proper, have women embraced gloves as part of their wardrobe, along with the pump, the structured handbag, and the hat. Instead, gloves have been considered just a winter necessity only in the winter, as a last resort to prevent frostbite.

Well, that is NOT the case for me .....

I LOVE GLOVES.

Not because my mommy said that every lady needs a pair of gloves but because I love them. Like most of the " can't live without" accessories ( shoes, bags, belts) they can change the feel of the entire outfit and nothing says classic elegance and chic like wearing a pair of beautiful gloves.

Here's a little guide that I find very useful :)

My Moschino Beauties

Check out these Moschino beauties that my fashion godmother=mommy got me :)
I can't wait for it to get a little colder ...
" I love School"

Yea, right .... well, just a little bit.

Lately, I've been loving the preppy look but with a a touch of personality :)

I decided to bring back my Abercrombie shirts from back when I used to work there.... ( it was my first "real" job" and I quit in two month because the Abercrombie clones began to scare me,lol).
So, here's what I wore for yesterdays class :)

I am wearing:
Abercrombie & Fitch Shirt - $89.56
Talula Wool Blazer - $148
Corpus Altha in Cracked - $230
Coach Lather Swingbag - a gift from Andrew
Minnetonka's - $44

Wish you all an awesome day :)

With Love ....
Marta
