School+Style=???

Hello Darlings,

Do fashion and education go hand in hand? Probably not, but they definitely could and should. Being a university student, I face this dilemma everyday when getting ready in the morning: how can one be stylish and still not be perceived as “trying too hard”? My personal style is more of a preppy meets I-am-not-sure. Actually, I can never really define what+what=Marta’s style. Let’s just say I like feeling pulled-together and neat. Some may call it “high maintenance,” but I disagree, as it takes me only 30 minutes to get ready! The point is most of the time I get “high maintenance” or “trying too hard” or “this is university, why even bother dressing up” looks. Does it annoy me? Sure! Would I ever downplay my love for dressing up? Of course not!”

Gifts and latex….:S

Hello Lovelies,

The moment I laid my eye on these latex babies, I knew that my world is about to change.....Well,I always though that I would be the last person to wear latex anything ... but here I am, desperately looking for a pair of latex tights...

<------ so scandalous, and oh so alluring!!! If anyone knows where I can find a similar pair... please let me know, I will be grateful forever. THANK YOU

X-mas Shopping, but why for myself?

While looking for a gift for my boyfriend, I found a new coat for myself by a chance. It is yet another Soia & Kyo ( i love their jackets and they are Canadian) coat and it is slightly similar to my black one but also very different ...Every time I look for a gift, I end up buying something for myself. Although this is my 8-9th winter jacket, I still have yet to find a perfect gift for Andrew. Yes, I suck at buying gift for men... I feel like I have already given him all the classic manly gifts that a girlfriend can get. HELP!

Can you believe it, the winter 08 hasn't started and the designer are already showing Pre-Fall 2009 Collections... I am the only one who feels like fashion is getting way tooooo far ahead of itself. I haven't had the time to look at all of the Spring 09 collections and the fall is already out ... Are you serious? :S

Anyways, back I go to studying ... I have a final exam on Monday. UGGGH

I would like to apologize for not being able to respond to the comment quickly enough...I can't wait to get Starbucks on Monday night and read all of your amazing blogs and also respond to all of you sweet comments .

What + What = Cozy…

Hello Lovelies,

When the weather gets nasty, like today,I don't care what I wear as long as I am cozy and comfortable... haha .... well that's a little over exaggerated.

What+ What= COZY

Here's my formula:

Chuncky Knit + Thin Cashmere + Fav. Pair of Jeans + Comfy Waterproof Boots + Gloves + An Umbrella

By pairing all of my favorites I came up with an ideal cozy look that was also appropriate to wear for a meeting with profs., yet another one...
My umbrella also matched my sweater ... hehe

NEED HELP... So, this is my natural hair ( yup,it's wavy) and I usually straighten it.
I need your opinion, which one do you like more...Straight or Wavy?

Back to School ….

Hello Lovelies,

As I come to realize that tomorrow is back to uni. day... I realize that I am not exactly prepared.Although I am looking forward to go back ... it is only now ( as I write this) that I realized how much I have on my plate.Therefore, in advance I would like to apologize for not replying back on time as I am adjusting to my 9am - 9pm schedule, lol ..... but I will try me best to update regularly.

This weekend was lots of fun as well as running around... last minute shopping trip with Andrew and his brother (dressing boys is so much fun,lol), going for a baseball game with my cousin, long hours of rock climbing, and extra long hours at the spa, dinners, walks, movies, etc ... it is all that I accomplished this weekend...

I have mentioned before like million of times that I LOVE rock climbing and try to do it as often as I can ... This will sounds crazy but for me rock climbing is like a form of meditation. I find it to be very relaxing and exciting at the same time.

I would recommend everyone to try it once..... I have never taken photos when climbing but decided to do it this weekend, so here they are:

I spend my Saturday in the spa ( thanks mommy and daddy) that was followed by a lovely dinner at my favorite restaurant .... and now that it is Sunday night, I am looking forward to finishing the last ten pages of my 9th novel of the summer.... I'm a book freak, I know.. lol

Tragic Story …. and Dirty Dancing

Hey Everyone

Remember this dress ?

Well it's a shirt now....

Basically, this is what happened .... I ordered this dress with intentions of wearing it on my Birthday which is on September 1. ( yep, a week from now) I received this dress about two weeks ago and it turned out to be a little long ( just like on the pic), so I decided to take in to get in hammed and dry cleaned .... Well, it's been a week and I went to pick up my dress..... AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? The dress was now a shirt.( It went from 35 inches to 19) Basically, instead of taking off 1 inch they took off about 19.... Kill me now, who makes that kind of a mistake .... I was so upset I ended up crying like there was no tomorrow. As a result, the company is now saying that a dress probably shrunk .... but come on, isn't thats why we take stuff for dry cleaning ?????? SO IT DOES NOT SHRINK? Oooh ... yea, and this was one of the best dry cleaners in the city .... So, right now I am in a huge dispute with the owner and I am not sure what will happen ... But I promise to post pics of the SHIRT DRESS as soon as I get it back and tell you the ending of this tragic story..... I have never even worn the dress, not even at home with heels on ... And now, I can't find the same dress in my size

BUT I DID FIND THIS .... I will call this my pain - shopping, you the kind you do after a break up ... you absolutely do not need it , but buy it because it make you feel better ... AND that is exactly what I did ... Tomorrow, I am planning to continue with my serious healing therapy by for some retail therapy with my mommy ...

My on - line retail therapy was complete at Active Endeavors ...and this is what I found .

NOW, it a matter of waiting for them to arrive and hopefully before my B-day.

And now on to my weekend .......

Although, I am not a hopeless romantic ... my boyfriend - who's real name is Andrew - does like to surprise with the most romantic things, randomly.This time, he was wonderful enough to surprise me with tickets to " Dirty Dancing" that I've been dying to see... The night was perfect and I must admit " I had the time of my life" ( cheezy phase, but it is from the movie)... Everything about the show was amazing, from the old theater, to the lively music, so an outstanding performance ... absolutely perfect. I know, how awesome is he? lol

P.S. thanks baby, you're the best ( kisses)

As for the closet, well that is still a work in progress ... I don't even know what to do with it .... My Passion …. hehe

Hello Everyone,

As I've mentioned before, this blog is very personal and it truly does represent me and who I am. However, there is a side to me that I have yet to present to you and that is my scholarly side... Don't get me wrong fashion does play a huge roll in my life, but my studies in fine art and architecture are what have shaped me into the person that I am and have yet to become.

Here's a bit of info about my life as a student ....

I am going into my third year at the University of Toronto doing a specialist (which I've been recently accepted into) in fine art and architecture... I can assure you that I am obsessed with it..Not only am I learning German and doing research with four different profs but I constant read and research about ... not because I have to but because I want to. And it is only my hope that one day I will be able to share my passion by educating and further researching in this field ... by hopefully doing my Ph.D. and becoming a professor myself, following in the footsteps of my family.... who always inspire and support me (Дуже дякую за вашу підтримку)

Therefore, I have decided that I will continue with my with my Fine Art posts and introduce Architecture posts ... I hope that you will enjoy them and if there is anything that you would like to suggest, please do so my leaving me a comment or e-mailing me
