Coldplay Concert….

Hello Darlings,

Yesterday was such a perfect day... mostly because I got to go to the Coldplay concert in Rogers Center. Andrews picked up the tickets a while ago and we were both very excite to attend our first concert. (Thanks hun!)

I would say that I am not a concert-y person but more of a ballet, musical and opera kind. But I must admit that I really did underestimate the power of live music. The show and the experience was phenomenal, I never experienced music in such an extreme and expressive way. There were over 50 thousand people and it was phenomenal being in one place with so many happy faces :) I would suggest going to a concert at least once in your lifetime, even if you think it is not for you-the experience is amazing.

It was also our 2 years and 7 month anniversary and yes we do "celebrate" them every month by doing something together. The night was completed by a late drinks at a cute downtown patio. I was and still am very excited... definitely a night to remember!

AS for the outfit for the night....

As for the outfit, I chose a sexier top with sparkle and sheerness and downplayed in with a more simple pair of pants. I felt that it was both comfortable and appropriate for the occasion.

I was very surprised at how casual people dress for concerts. People get more dressed up for hockey games :) It was a bit bizarre to me. Andrew and I also had seats rather than standing, because otherwise I would have died standing on my 5 inch heels from 8 pm until 12.

I am wearing: Alice+Olivia Sequence Top; Armani Exchange Pants;Michael Kors Heels; Gustto Cokera Purse;Luc Kieffer Ring.

Studious…

Hello Darlings,

Without the slightest idea as to what to wear or expect from the day to come.Sitting on my bed, putting on make-up, sipping on a double short espresso, and watching the morning news... I was wondering what story do my clothes tell? Is my outfit, like a book cover-and I am to be seen by it. As these thoughts were occupying my head, I was getting more nervous for the day that awaited me!!!

Last week, I received an e-mail from the art gallery director to come in on Monday(today) and participate in a promotional shoot for the University of Toronto. The first thing that hit my mind was.... OMG, what to wear? and 'till this moment I am not sure whether or not the outfit was ideal for the occasion. I am not sure what look I was going for or what exactly was expected out of me? Was I supposed to look like a young professional or just an everyday student.... because believe me the two are quite opposite. Instead, I settled for an outfit that felt right to me.... and it turned out to be perfect. When in doubt, I always wear what makes me feel fabulous.Because when you're freaking out about other things, your outfit is the last thing that you should worry about... you should feel great and know it :) It doesn't matter how fancy or simple it is, as long as you love it!

I decided on a simple top that I only tucked in the front with a pair of high waisted shorts and my favorite oxfords. Simple and chic. Actually, the other interns also wore shorts... which was a pleasant surprise. We all really did look coordinated, wearing our black shorts and simple tops. Great minds think alike? hahaha....
The setting of the photo shoot was set in the basement vault of the art gallery, where all of the art pieces are stored and where the creative thinking happens. Five of the interns were seated behind a huge table with a director, appearing to be having a wonderful and fun time. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. Isn't that just studious?!

I am wearing: Ralph Lauren Top; Talula Shorts; Luc Kieffer Ring; Candela Tokyo Oxfords; Juicy Couture Laptop Bag; Ray Ban Wayfarers ( gift from Andrew).

After grueling but fun few hours... I set out to catch up on some reading in the galleries courtyard and then off to the library to continue working on the docent package. It was a long but interesting day....
...I actually enjoy spending time in my university, the atmosphere is very relaxed in the summer time and students are always outside in their private little worlds catching up on their work, plus the university offers many architecturally beautifully and stunningly landscaped getaways. If you ever visit Toronto, you must see the St. George Campus of University of Toronto. It is situated in the heart of downtown and is absolutely, overwhelmingly beautiful! I should take more pictures to show you darlings.

In my School Bag...

I also decided to include my school bag and belongings that I can't live without...I always wonder what do people carry in their huge purses.

A laptop - my new Lenovo Think Pad that my daddy just got me.I adore it, I find it to be very serious looking. I can't live without a laptop, it comes with me everywhere.
Oxford Art & Artists Dictionary - i must know everything!
" The Age of Innocence" by Edith Wharton - a novel to read while taking a break at Starbucks.
Ray Bans - I wear them 24/7. I feel more discreet and comfortable in sunnies, it's like I am in my own little bubble.
Wallet - I love this leather baby blue wallet, it fits everything.
Binder - to keep my photocopies organized.
Lip Gloss and Translucent Powder - for on the go touch ups.
Cell Phone.

P.S. I would like to apologize for falling behind on commenting, it's a bit busy on my side but your lovely comments always make my days a little brighter. Thank you!

I wish you all a beautiful start to a new week!!!!

Girls Night, part deux…

Bonjour Lovelies,

Last night was yet another girls night, well boys included but it was all about the ladies and birthdays :) It was a beautiful night that called for my all-time-favorite party dress by Alexander Wang. The simplicity of it makes it ideal for every occasion, but the charming detailing makes it special to me - I always feel like a princess wearing it. Honestly, I don't think that I will ever stop loving this little frock... it is so charming and yet so simple. Perfect for a night of dancing and fun!
Personally, when going to clubs/lounges I always settle for simple flirty dresses and sexy heels-it has become my uniform over years. I always like to feel like a princess rather than bearing it all. I always get bothered at how revealing ladies tend to look at such venues and it makes me wonder why bare it all? Is it really true that less is more when it comes to getting dressed for a night club??? I certainty do not believe in this, but it appears that quiet a few women do. I mean, really...is it necessary that the world sees every inch of your body.

What do you like to wear to night clubs/lounges? Do you believe that less is more for such venues?

I am wearing: Alexander Wang dress; Mackage "Leane" leather jacket;Be&D Antonia Patent Leather Heels; Luc Kieffer Barbered Wire Ring; Coach Patent Leather Wristlet.

As for the ring, here's a close up (as requested)... it is very stunning and bold. It is a statement piece that I've been looking for to enhance every outfit.

Well, I'm off to do some work and then 30 laps in the swimming pool.. surprisingly, I am really in love with swimming. And not to forget the new episode of True Blood on HBO tonight, so excited !!!!!

I hope you're all having a lovely weekend!!!

Gray…

Hello Darlings,
Yay... my Revolve Clothing packages have arrived.Which included Candela Oxfords!!!

No longer associated with salesmen and schoolgirls, flat oxfords have been updated in enough colors and finishes to please every whimsy. With charming simplicity and delicate detail- I was in love with these darlings the moment I saw them. However, I had to be patient for them to go on sale from $243 to $121 and I might add,it was well worth it.They are more beautiful than I ever expected. I was so excited and still am :) Boy-o-boy, I love those days when my orders arrive... it feels like petite Christmas.

I am sooooo in love with them... they are my new substitutes for an all time favorite ballerinas!

The shoe itself is very delicate and in fact, quite feminine. The leather is a-m-a-z-i-n-g-l-y soft and the comfort is indescribable. Plus, I love that there a no laces, which makes them even more interesting. Although, I hate to favor my shoes, these are definitely on top of the list. It is a perfect shoe for summer and fall...They are a unique touch to my subtle and simple wardrobe-just how I like it, simple outfit with interesting details.

Today's outfit, consisted of my new favorites paired with all gray. I adore wearing gray-on-gray and adding a touch of brighter color, such as this purple bag...Also, I've decided that rolling up jeans is a fabulous way to showcase gorgeous footwear and achieve a more casual look. As for the top, well this is one of my favorite tops in the closet, reason being is the beautiful way that it drapes as well as the feminine way it emphasizes the shoulders. I adore this top, it is also an easy transition piece... one that can be worn both for casual-to-evening occasions. Plus, the detailing is phenomenal.

I am wearing:French Connection Shirt; Abercrombie&Fitch Skinnies; Candela Tokyo Oxfords; Regina Italia Handmade Leather Purse; A.V. Max Cuff;Tungsten Ring (worn on the thumb) courtesy Superior Wedding Rings Jewelers.

Also, I though that I should share my views on.....

I've finally had the chance to watch Vanity Fair movie and I must say that I really enjoyed it until closer towards the end. Three hundred pages of Thackeray's work was condensed into 20 minutes and the ending was completely opposite of what it was in the book. I hate when movies change the meaning of the books, especially in such a powerful and significant work as this. I wish that the director stayed true to the book, instead of making it a happily- ever- after ending...which it was not, at least not for Becky Sharp. For those of you who loved the movie, you will adore the book. It is a beautiful film in it's own way, but it does not do the book any justice. The plot was far too simplified and did not portray the true intentions of the author-who is so brilliant. The novel is a masterpiece, but the movie is simply good! I must admit that acting was wonderful.

Anyways, I am off to review my French words... the language is slowly coming along. Sometimes I feel like I am taking up too much tasks for one summer. However, I do enjoy being busy and on the go, It makes me feel alive

I wish you all a lovely day!!!

Monday Loving…

Hello Darlings,
For some odd reasons I tend to like Mondays, I see them as a fresh start...

So, today's agenda consisted off:
Doctor's appointment
Starbucks run
Gallery run
Finishing Thackeray's Vanity Fair and started The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton.
Rented Vanity Fair from Blockbuster
Went over some French words
Did some work
Picked up a pair of Speedo goggles for swimming
Went for a swim - 30 laps.
Played a game of Monopoly against the computer and won.
Watched some re-runs of True Blood ( I watch it religiously)
Stopped by some Blogs.
Responded to some e-mails
And of course, Blogged.

Well, as for the outfit... it had to be somewhat more dressy since I stopped by the gallery. I chose to finally wear my new Armani Exchange chiffon blouse that I got few weeks ago. The shoes had a touch of purple-y blue in them... so in matched quite well with the blouse.

I am wearing: Armani Exchange Blouse; Alexander Wang for Gap khakis; Michael Kors Heels; A.V.Max Cuff; Ray Ban Wayfarers ( gift from Andrew).
Thoughts on Vanity Fair by W.M Thackeray...
I've finally finished reading the book and I must say that this was the longest read for me -time wise, it took me over 3 weeks. The version I read was in the original format as Thackeray wrote it in 1840 including the original illustrations. This book is phenomenal but requires a lot of patience and possible re-reading ( certain chapters)...if you have the time and patience it is a very rewarding read. The story of the 18th and 19th century England is told with the most sardonic wit and eloquence. The books heroine,Becky Sharp, remains one of the most memorable heroines in British fiction. It is one of those read's that you will stay with you. There's no better way to summarize the book, then the way Nicholas Dames has in the Introduction...

" Vanity Fair is a novel full of scandal, including fraud, pretty deceit, extramarital complications, and murder, but these putative outrages to Victorian notion of social decency are never narrated as surprises. Instead, Thackeray presents them to us with a half-amused, half-disgusted species of boredom, as if to say: Surely, you weren't so naive as to pretend this wasn't the case?"

P.S. I am truly overwhelmed at how supportive you've been of my Elle Canada contest pages, for that I would like to THANK each and every single one of you.... If you haven't had a chance to check them out ... Click HERE.Thanks a million!!! If I actually win this contest, I will definitely have a little surprise for you darlings as a thank you - This is the part I am most excited about!!!

Well, I am off to watch Vanity Fair movie....

I wish you all a lovely start to the week!!!

With Love...
