Shades of Black & Grey

When it comes to dressing.... I've come to realize that I fell the most comfortable in neutrals or pastels and usually don't to wear bright or loud colors(maybe during the summer)... Basically, minimalistic look is very appealing to me. I'm not sure if it is a phase or I have finally come to establish my personal style. Not sure, since I change my mind often but never when it comes to colors.... I love black,grey,white and beige.

I believe that color is not the only way to make an outfit exciting...although colorful accessories can make a dull outfit look fun.
Playing with textures and materials can make an outfit interesting and exciting.

To me, nothing is as important as paying attention to DETAILS... details is what matters ( to me). And this, I get from my mom.

Details such as proper fit, neat stitching, no stains/rips,clean and wrinkle-free ( I am always surprised to see how many people wear ripped or stained white tees).... Paying close attention to tiniest details makes an outfit look organized and neat.

Speaking of details,
My biggest fashion pet peeve is dirty shoes ( I understand salt stains, in the winter) -I mean, why would anyone want to "hurt" their shoes in such a way( by not cleaning themlol). Personally, I love and cherish my shoes like treasure and want to keep them looking new forever and ever,lol.

I Love: Wearing bracellets/cuffs over simple cashmere gloves... just to add some interest to a winter outfit. It looks cute... just keep it simple.

As well, I've always loved matching my gloves to my purse...lol.Weird?

Exciting: Today was very exciting for me, I finally purchased something that I've been looking for since the fall and it is definately one of my biggest buys of this year.... I can't wait to it share with you. I am really excited about this purchase. Any guesses as to what it is?

P.S. Thank you for your comments on the T by by Alexander Wang... I was just curious to find out others opinions. Although, I agree that the price is steep, I must admit that I am not that impresses with the collection - the dresses remind me of night gowns, but I guess it all depends on the fit. But I am curious to find out, if the quality and fit is what makes these item expensive, since the materials are "not my favorite" nor are the items original in cuts.Hhhhmmmm......

It all sounds like a wonderful idea but are you willing to spend between $75 to $95 for a tee that is made of micro modal and rayon, especially during difficult economic times? Or are you paying for the name - Alexander Wang?

Steal or Splurge?

Personally, I don't see why I would want to spend so much for something that looks like I can pick up at any store and that is made of synthetic fiber...

I think that a perfect tee should be made of prima cotton. Does fabric matter?

Collectors Edition… 100!!!

Hello Lovelies,

Yay this is my 100th post!!!!...

I find that to be pretty exciting.Therefore, I decided to dedicate this post to one of my passions ( besides fine art and architecture) - Reading.

Collectors Edition

As many of you know I am an avid reader.... LOVE READING!And therefore decided to share some of my favorite books with you....including Twilight Saga.

Speaking of Twilight, I just ordered a copy of Twilight Collector's Edition... as well as a Twilight CD, and a few Agatha Christie books.I've been collecting books for a while and thought that this would be an awesome addition to my collection... Personally, I think that books are a wonderful investment and something that will always matter to me. I am sooo excited to get it... and especially to share it with you.....
Seriously, I am a Twilight Freak!!! lol - almost embarrassing, considering my age,lol.

Fav. Top Ten Book ( so far):

I am always looking to read something new and interesting... I would really appreciate if you would leave me some suggestions.

Details...

As for my outfit... well, I often times prefer simple when it comes to dressing...but with neat details, that's why I adore this top. When I ordered it, I had no idea how incredible it is... I loved it from the start but not in the way I do now. The cut is casual, the cotton is super soft...it is perfect for everyday. But the details are what makes it more than everyday throw on shirt - the perfectly cut collar with an interesting tie, cute little pearl buttons at the shoulders, and the sheerness of the stripes.

I love how some everyday items can feel so special.

It is the same thing with Corpus jeans( I adore Corpus jeans, I have few pairs and adore them - would strongly recommend them), which have a pinch pleat down front of the leg... which makes them feel less casual.

Sometimes it is not about bold patterns or color, but about simple details that can maybe even the most casual outfit feel special - therefore making yourself been good.

So, to bring all the details together - I decided to pull my hair in a high messy bun with a headbaand pearl earrings( to go along with pearl buttons) and to make it more winter friendly I added a long cozy cardi with colorful buttons.

Day and Night….

Hello Darlings,
Today was an activity packed day...

Day

During the day, daddy and I went skiing ... which we try to do regularly. Lucky, he's an avid and wonderful skier and has taught me and introduced me to his hobby when I was a little kid. It is our father and daughter time ...
P.S. On the side not,always wear a helmet when skiing...I always do.Safety comes first!

Night

After a day of skiing a few drinks with friends was like a cherry on top of a cake... well, so was finding that perfect skirt,lol.

Cozy Knits…

Hello Darlings,

Well, living in Canada comes with its own ups and downs...

Ups - the skiing season lasts a long time ( I've been skiing forever with my daddy)
Downs - freezing every part of your body in -20 temperatures.
But you know what.... I wouldn't change anything about it. Crazy temperature changes present me with a new fashion challenge... well almost everyday.
So today's being....
finding a hat.

HAT - Hunt

I have not worn a hat since grade nine... I always reserved to a hood of my parka, but now that I transferred on to the wool coat... hoods have disappeared and my ears are freezing off.
However, finding a perfect hat was a challenge and a half...and I must admit I failed at it.

I bought a hat for $100...

I mean, it's crazy because it is just a hat.

It seems like hats come in limited supplies and in pretty boring variations and to justify my crazy buy - I love this hat.

Surprisingly, enough... I don't even regret getting it ... my ears are nice and toasty and it never leaves me with "hat hair" or " flat hair".

Win/ Lose Situation... but I was left with no choice.

CRAZY or NOT! - it was just too cold.

Maybe, winter isn't so bad... I mean think of all the cute accessories- scarves, hats, and gloves.

Twilight Update: Well, I finished the last book of Twilight Saga - Breaking Down - during my trip (yup....most of my vacation pics have Breaking Down in them,lol) - I LOVED IT. I am obsessed with the books... I really hope Stephanie Meyer decides to publish Midnight Sun - which is Edward's version of Twilight...I mean, does it get any better than that. If you have any info on this book.... please do share.

With Love from Mexico…..part two!!!

Sure, vacation is all about relaxing and getting away from your everyday life - but it is not the time to look frumpy. It is the time to look and feel fabulous - although it is easier said then done....
So here's my attempt at being vacation fabulous!!! lol

Tiny Bikini
Bikini - being the most important article of " clothing" during vacation is also the most dreaded one...lol

Prancing around in a tiny bikini, half-naked is somewhat intimidating...since I am uncomfortable parading around the resort in a bikini, I would always wear a dress or shorts outside the beach area ( bar, restaurants, lobby, etc) ... As for bikini sarongs, I am not very fond of them, especially the long ones... but then again, I am no fashion guru and if it works then it works.

In the swimming pool, I usually resorted to a one piece... swimming pool is the time for fun and games and the last thing I want is to constantly check if my tiny bikini is still there,lol...But a one piece should be on a sexy sice rather than a sporty side ( unless you're a serious swimmer,lol)...

The moment I say this swimsuit, I fell in love with it ... it is very comfortable and sits in all the right places. I don't think that any swimsuit ever made me feel as confident and feminine as this one ... if I could, I would wear it everyday.

Besides the swimsuits....

My vacation wardrobe was all about cute dresses and my favorite Miss Trish of Capri Sandals( I love them, so much).... easy to wear and easy to look cute in.

As for my hair... well having wavy hair is a nightmare. However,I found that the easiest way to keep it looking neat and cute at the beach is by either french braiding it or putting it into a tony tail with a headband. For the night time, I usually let my hair out...but it was thanks to TIGI S-Factor Smooting Lusterize r and Bed Head Headrush that my hair remained glossy and shiny, instead of turning into a frizz ball.

NIGHT TIME
When the sun set, Cancun city came to life... The party atmosphere there is amazing and Andrew and I definately look advantage of that. Every night, we explored a new and amazing nightclub.

As for make up....
In a hot and humid climate, the last thing you want is to wear a ton of make up... half way through the night your face will be melting off - TRUST ME not a pretty sight ( and I saw a lot of it)

Boy, do I wish that I was still there having the time of my life.... but instead, I am here.... freezing my behind off.
