♥ Getting Glam with Alexander Wang…♥

" Anyone can get all dressed up and glamorous, but it is how people dress in their off days, that are most intriguing." - Alexander Wang

Hello Darlings,

The dressed I purchased is from his first, full ready-to-wear Spring 2007 collection.'Till this day, it's my favorite collection by him and I fell in love with it the first I saw it ... the sheer fabrics, the gentle colors, and the girly look was and still is PERFECTION to me. When I saw this dress, I had to have it ..... and I will admit, it's perfect .Although I love all of his designs, I will always prefer the girly chic over grungy chic....but it is only my personal preference.
<------ There it is ( click to enlarge)

P.S. I would totally get it in that color too and with that blur cardi... if only I would finde'em :)

Although the dress is totally "me", I decided to experiment with my make up ... which was inspired Burberry Prorsum from the Spring 08 show. Since my dress, was very girly, light, and pastel color... I decided to wear light make up but with a touch of purple.

My Take

Got to Love TORONTO!!!

Although I bought this dress for a gala in January, I couldn't wait until then to wear it ... so I decided to wear it to my friends birthday bash this Saturday. So here it is .... :) Made of the most beautiful chiffon and with the most tedious detailing ... this dress is a dream and those tights are the new obsession :)

I am wearing:
Alexander Wang Blush Dress - $465,on sale for $220
Soia & Kyo Z Wool Coat - $330
Michael Kors Booties - $230
Transparenze Tights - $32
Gap Leather Bag - $210
Moschino Sued Gloves - a gift from mom
A.V. Max Studded Cuff - $56, on sale for $28
Diamond/Platinum Studs - a gift from mommy and daddy

It also looks awesome paired with my Soia&Kyo

Hehehe

AS for Make Up ....

P.S. I would like to appologize for the delay of posts and responses, it seems like everything is going wrong for me ... My DOG is REALLY SICK and I've been really worried and freaking out.
But on a happy note, this Sunday I went for BLOGGERS LUNCH and can't wait to share it with you in my next post ... :)

I wish you all a Gorgeous Day !!!!

With Love...

♥ Anchors away ♥

Hello Lovelies ...

" It was anchors away at D&G, where messieurs Dolce and Gabbana took a dip in the azure waters of the French Riviera. Make that a long soak. They never do anything halfway, and this collection was no exception, from the first retro navy-striped maillot with a red anchor on the chest to the parade of dresses in pleated gold lamé and chiffon printed with nautical flags and sailor knots."

Drawing inspiration from this fun and absolutely beautiful collection,I decided to give a nautical look a try by downplaying it with a schoolboy blazer.

No Sleep = Looking Good

When you haven't slept for more than 4-5 hours in two weeks and survive on espresso and red bull, and have a weird buzzing noise in your head, and when nothing else matters AT LEAST TRY TO LOOK GOOD going into the exam .... that was my way of making myself feel like a girl and not a hermit :)

P.S. I wasn't cold since I drive to school and park right across the street :) and I wore tights... lol

I am wearing:
H&M Striped Dress - $34.99
Talula Wool Blazer - $148
Michael Kors Bootie - $230
Firenze Collection Bag - about $ 100-150 on sale ( I've had it forever)
Diamond/Platinum Studs - sweet 16th gift from mommy and daddy
Non- Mineralized Amber Gemstone Ring with a fossil - family jewel

AND BACK TO BOOKS I GO ... :(

BUT NOT BEFORE mentioning this...
Since, Ive been "locked away" at home with no social interaction, except for profs, and just surrounded by books, espresso machine and a box of red bull ... I had nothing left to do except to browse an on-line stores on my " caffeine overdosing breaks" and of course pick up a few beauties: ( I couldn't resist or use any common sense... ooh well)

This beautiful Alexander Wang Dress, that I picked up in a last size zero 50% sale from $495 .... ( I hope the duties and taxes are not too high, since that's where I usually get caught with crazy fees, lol)
AND

This Trash&Luxury Tee that costs in Canada $68, I picked up for $ 39 ---- I feel soo ripped off since I do have a few tee that I did purchase for that crazy price... it should be illegal. lol
Photobucket

I can't wait for the dress to arrive ... I hope it's not tooo short. It was my only source of excitement or joy this week ... UGGGH.

For the past two week, I've had the " when life hands you lemons, make lemon juice" line stuck in my head and I came to conclusion that whoever thought of this line never had to face exam period ... Because all I have is more lemons and no lemon juice... OOOH YEA, and I am Missing TORONTO FASHION WEEK - because of exams and research.

ON a POSITIVE NOTE, Halloween is coming, my last exam is on the 27th and I already have the best costume ... I love it, Can't wait to P-A-R-T-Y :)

Who are YOU dressing up as?

By the way, Yesterday(Tuesday) TORONTO WAS HIT BY LIGHT SNOW .... I just got onto the highway on my way to the lecture and there it was .... in the middle of OCTOBER, but what did I expect... I LIVE IN CANADA, lol.

Happy SNOW DAY?

I wish you all a beautiful day

With Love ...
Marta

♥ In a bubble…♥

Hello Lovelies,

THANK YOU
First and foremost I would like to apologize for not taking a while to reply - I am sincerely sorry. I am in the midst of my exams and research which leaves me very little time to do anything, even sleep.I feel like a live in a little bubble... But I do want to THANK YOU ALL for the lovely comments, they bring me so much joy :)

P.S. I also try to respond to all of the anonymous comment on my blog ... so check back. And thank you :)

Black & White

Although some tend to think that black & white are not exciting and rather boring...I will have to disagree. Besides a fact that they are the building blocks of every wardrobe, they are also timeless. To me there's something about the simplicity and charm of black and white ... the clean lines , the crisp feeling, the classic combination and the sophisticated outcome are the major reasons why it's a timeless classic.

I decided to wear something simple but with a fun touch... something like this new Juicy Couture Puff Sleeve Polo( click) with a cute puppy logo and text at the back. I love a fact that it's a simple polo with very feminine details

I am wearing:
Juicy Couture Puff Sleeve Polo - $78
J - Brand Jeans - $158, on sale for $98
Soia& Kyo Charlie Coat - $230
H&M Headband - $3.99
Juicy Couture Italian Leather Boots - $622, on sale for $360
Pearl/Gold Studs - a gift from mommy and daddy
A.V. Max Studded Cuff - $56, on sale for $28

Obsessed - Yet Again

Speaking of Juicy, I've been obsessed with it ... I love how girly, casual, and classic it is. Therefore, I require your help .... I've been searching for this flat for a while now .... PLS, if you know where I can order a pair in size 6 or 6.5... DO LET ME KNOW.....:) Thanks

I wish you all a wonderful week :)

With Love...
Marta

Tag.... I'm it :)
I've been tagged by the lovely Tina from Your Everyday Style and La Couturier to spill 6 quirky things about me and I was tagged by the awesome Ash from her name was ashley to write 7 random facts about myself :)

Thank you Ladies .... :)

Well, since talking about myself ... sounds like fun, I decided to combine the two. So here it is 7 quirks/random facts about myself:

1. I am paranoid about my finger and toe nails ... I always have to have them done. I would never wear open shoes if my pedi was not perfect... It's really big paranoia that most of the people find to be weird...

2. I start my every shopping trip with a Godiva Dark Chocolate Decadence Drink...
No Godive = No Shopping.

3. I have to have a buble bath every night ... or I won't fall asleep.

4. I will never buy polyester... i'm paranoid with buying natural materils, only.

5. I hate brown and black colour combination ... it's a really strong dislike.

6. I've never worn red ... clothing, lips, nailpolish,etc.

7. I had my first burger two month ago... and I am 20 years old, lol... weird, I know.

And the list goes on ......

It seems like everyone has done these tags, so if you haven't then YOU'RE IT :)

Well..... It is time for me to go back to studying.

I wish you all a wonderful week :)
With Love...
Marta

Romancing the Plaid…

Hello Darlings....

As I've mentioned before, I'm obsessed with plaid.... Who would have thought? Well, although I love the hard, grungy look that you achieve by wearing plaid work shirt ... I will admit that I love famine plaid, even more.... It has a very understate sex appeal.

What DO you Think of plaid?

MY INSPIRATION

D&G Fall 2008 - I am obsessed with this collection.
Frilly, Plaid and absolutely Feminine.

MY TAKE on Frilly Plaid :)

AS you've probably noticed I love to keep things on a famine side... therefore when I saw this slightly sheer, frilly and PLAID shirt ... I knew that is was meant to be :)

Gap Plaid Cotton/Silk Shirt - $56
Corpus Alpha in Cracked Skinnies - $230
Minnetonka Booties - $44

I am dying to find a plaid dress. I love this one, that is seen on Jenny in the upcoming episode.... if you have any suggesting, please do share
I have a question for you,

If you like plaid, then what is your favorite way of wearing it?

This weekend is a Thanksgiving Weekend in Canada and I just wanted to wish you all.
