Room Renovations … my apologies

It is a long weekend and instead of relaxing I was out shopping in the Home Depot with my parents. I decided to completely renovate my bedroom, bathroom and of course my walk- in closet. As a result, I am currently living in my dads computer/office room with no access to my closet (the paint is wet). I am really excited about this " project" of mine and can't wait to share it with you. I apologize for the lack of posts ...

A night out in the city

I'm a big city girl and I love my city. I love it even more during the night time, it feels as if the city comes alive. Tonights adventure was a dinner with my bf at the restaurant set atop the 51st floor and is considered to be the country's highest patio. It offers stunning views of both uptown and downtown... and it was definitely worth overcoming my fear of heights :) ... So, if you live in Canada or decide to visit it, I strongly recommend visiting Panorama Restaurant in Toronto.

And now on to the outfit,

I decided on wearing a simple, strapless LBD from Nicole Miller with a light jacket and Kors platforms, which gave the entire look a little edge. I believe that when it comes to any occasion a little black dress is always a perfect choice, since it's so easy to go from casual - to cocktail - to evening look. Plus, that "perfect LBD" makes every girl feel invincible, even if it's only for a night ...

Frustrating Decisions

I was getting ready to go out to a cozy little jazz cafe when I snapped these pictures. Although, I was really excited for the night, I was also overtly frustrated on what to wear? I could not decide on what to pair with the dress : the cardigan or the blazer ... In the end, I chose the blazer. What do you think? Which one would be a better choice for the next time? .... Honest opinions always appreciated ... thanks :)

Art Pick of the Week … Marie Antoinette by Marie Louise Elisabeth Vigee – Lebrun

Marie Antoinette is undoubtedly France’s most notorious queen. She was ad
ored on her arrival in Versailles, where her beauty, vivacity and intelligence were widely admired. Worried by her popularity, courtiers at Versailles attempted to limit her political influence. But the young queen was destined to make an impact. Marie-Antoinette soon became known as a patron of the arts. She brought about changes at Versailles in the realms of decorative arts, music and fashion. However, her extravagance came in for sharp criticism. The young queen was dismissed as “the Austrian” and considered a spendthrift, a schemer and a counter-revolutionary. As public opinion turned against her, the royal administration tried to project a noble image of the queen by commissioning large portraits to be shown to the public at the salons.

Marie Antoinette’s life story is eternalized in the works of the Marie Louise Elisabeth Vigee – Lebrun, who was appointed as a court painter.

" I was a queen, and you took away my crown; a wife, and you killed my husband; a mother, and you deprived me of my children. My blood alone remains: take it, but do not make me suffer long." - Marie Antoinette

Date with Mom …. :)

I'm just packing for cottage, and decided to make a quit post before the weekend. I apologize in advance for being away the entire weekend, and will update on Sunday...

I was watching reruns of Gossip Girl (I'm a HUGE fan) while getting ready to finally see Sex and the City Movie with my mommy. In the second episode Blair wore this white eyelet dress and it inspired me to wear mine. Since, it was a girls night out I decided to dress a bit girly :) ... Although the movie did not quite meet my expectation ( even though it was very beautiful), I had the best time with my mom.

Hope Everyone has a Great Weekend !!!
P.S. I'm looking forward to reading all of the blog updates on Sunday ... xoxo

Hidden Treasures

Wearing : Swarovski Love Charms Bracellet ( a gift) and Pearl Studs ( a gift)

My biggest issue when it comes to accessorizing( which by the way i suck at) is JEWELRY. Most of the jewelry I own has meaning to me - either family jewels or gifts.By now, I have a huge collection but I never wear any of it ... I simply forget to put it on. In the end, I only wear my pearls/ or diamond studs and the dove necklace - given to me by parents, and my Swarovski Love Charms Bracelet - given to me by my boyfriend. When it comes to everything else, it's just there nicely stored away in boxes. I'm hoping that one day, someone will come into my life to change that, until then, I'll try my best to wear everything few times a year( at most) .... Anyways, here are some of my favorite pieces from the collection ...
P.S. I was wondering, Am I the only one dealing with this, lol ?
