Hello Darlings, On Friday, my friend and hair stylist Rob invited me to With Somebody Who Loves Me: A Gay Dansical that is part of the popular Toronto Fringe Festival.

The show is a combination of musical and dance performance, with unique twists such as no dialogue and some bondage action :) Between each dance performance is a brief video clip highlighting an event that happens within the lives of the main characters Manny, Lynne and Dina.

There is obviously a gay theme, but despite the title it's a fun show for a date night - with your boyfriend (mine loved it!) The music is fun including songs like  You Give Me Fever and of course I Wanna Dance With Somebody. The cast is AMAZING, especially lead dancer Brenner Smith, and co-leads Jennifer Mote and Patrizia Gianforcaro. Although playing a supporting role, it's also worth noting the performance of Ross Wirtanen from Vancouver, who has amazing moves and is very talented.

My favourite part was the Mr. Right Now  scene where the full male cast danced to the hard core Nine Inch Nails song Closer. The lead (Brenner) had made himself a blind date with illusions that he was meeting a nice guy, but instead showed up to a hard-core masked man. Some serious spice for the story-line, with some interesting character development :)
