While completing my History of Art Specialist degree at the University of Toronto, I embarked on an unexpected journey by launching WithLoveGabrielle.com, affectionately known as WLG, on June 12, 2008. My first foray into blogging was a post about Chanel, created while I should have been studying for a Medieval Art exam. That is where the name was coined.

My passion for the visual arts extended beyond the classroom, leading me to explore the beauty and lessons found in everyday life. WLG became a canvas for my thoughts, capturing moments that inspired, experiences that educated, outfits that empowered, and adventures that left indelible memories.

Over the years, WLG has morphed from a passion project into an integral part of my life's narrative, chronicled through thousands of articles. It has challenged me, prompting unexpected decisions and providing a steadying presence in a sometimes ephemeral world. It has become my diary in motion.

ON PERSONAL LIFE

In my personal life, I am happily married and we share our home with Luna, our beloved French Bulldog. I actively contribute to the art community by serving on the committee for AGO Next at the Art Gallery of Ontario. I also find balance and joy through my love for literature, rowing, and skiing, activities that not only keep me physically active but also provide a much needed escape from the digital world.

ON PROFESSIONAL LIFE

My professional journey is deeply rooted in the social media landscape. I founded TryMus Group in 2016, tapping into the dynamic world of digital marketing, and later expanded with co-founding On Social Sports in 2023, blending sports with social media.

My passion for teaching and sharing knowledge led me to become a Digital Marketing Professor at Seneca College in 2019 and later at OCAD University in 2022. These roles not only reflect my dedication to the evolving digital sphere but also my commitment to guiding the next generation of digital creatives.

THOUGHTS ON INFLUENCER LANDSCAPE & STEPPING AWAY

In 2020, I paused my writing as the influencer landscape transformed dramatically. When I began in 2008, the concept of influencer marketing was unheard of. Over time, I felt a growing disconnect between the industry's direction and my personal values and ethical beliefs.

This period of reflection reaffirmed my commitment to authenticity and joy in my creative expression. I'm eager to write in this space on my own terms. This space remains my little corner of the internet, a place to share without the pressures of monetization and social platform algorithms. If my musings resonate with you, that's wonderful. If not, we each walk our path.

Let's share our journeys toward creating lives that thrill us with the promise of each new day. For those who dream under the stars and then wake to turn those dreams into reality, this space is for you.
