This weekend, iconic The Raleigh Hotel in South Beach Miami hosts the eighth season of swimwear's largest trade event, Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week Swim. The swimwear runway shows take place with the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and the white sands of Miami Beach, and are followed by poolside soirees at the famous Delano, The Raleigh and Soho Beach House.

On Friday, my friend and hair stylist Rob invited me to With Somebody Who Loves Me: A Gay Dansical that is part of the popular Toronto Fringe Festival.

The show is a combination of musical and dance performance, with unique twists such as no dialogue and some bondage action :) Between each dance performance is a brief video clip highlighting an event that happens within the lives of the main characters Manny, Lynne and Dina.

Last weekend was one of the biggest (and most fun) events in Toronto — as MuchMusic hosted their popular Video Awards show. MuchMusic is the main music television channel in Canada, so they are able to attract an A-list of musicians to perform including Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and The Black Eyed Peas.

Kudos to MuchMusic for the format, which is a massive street party with a stage set-up outside of their headquarters in downtown Toronto. While you need a wristband to watch the show from inside the MuchMusic parking lot, it's free to watch the show and the red carpet live on Queen Street West and John Street.
