After a weekend of celebrating my birthday with the girlies and a Saturday night fun with Andrew, I finished off my weekend with a quick-y shopping trip to pick up some skincare and make-up and a coffee with my bestie, Natalie 
As for the outfit for today, well simple and comfortable was the key… plus, I was just too eager to wear my new cardi Honestly, my obsession with stripe is becoming too obvious!

Items that are temporary no longer interest me; items that are valuable and are going to withstand the test of time are what I am looking to “invest” in. What I want are modern classics, items that will become staples in my wardrobe. For this season my top five essentials are:
1. Long Sleeve Metallic Mini Dress
Although seen all over the fall/winter 09 runway, it is an item that will make you feel fabulous and the center of attention for seasons to come.
2. Simple Sweater Dress
They are versatile and quite unexpected, and when paired with warm cashmere tights they are incredibly cozy and warm. Cashmere and wool sweater dresses are a must.
3. Fabulous Booties
Simply because they are fabulous! They bring an entire outfit together, giving it a simple and effortless look.4. Leather Jacket
This baby is a classic in its own right.
5. Cashmere Scarf
A perfect addition to any outfit. Luxurious, functional, and timeless.

Well, I am off to read a little bit about Cubism…bouncing back into my student life and the idea of non-stop studying has been a tiny bit challenging. Plus, figuring out what to hear has been a total pain :S

Love the cardi and ballerinas. Also adore both dresses, booties (have you seed Burberry ones?… so beautiful and edgy… shame, too expensive for me…) and scarf. I am obsessed with cashmere pieces!
P.S. I remember you telling me about your spaniel, but you never said you had a doberman before. Me too!
I wanted to get one again, but they are pretty ugly here, so I went for a cocker as they are among my three favourite breeds.

You mentioned cashmere tights in that Supermelon post…do you know where to buy them in Canada? If you have any ideas it would be much appreciated! (I live in Montreal, so anything cashmere is nearly essential here

I love cashmere tights…so perfect for winter. I've found very expensive pair at Holts before, but they were totally not worth it. However, Club Monaco always has a wonderful selection…they are so comfy and priced reasonably. (plus, club monaco offers 10% off to students)
I can't wait to get my hands on few pairs… I am thinking black and gray

Great post! You always look so fabulous! It's so hard to keep up with things while in Japan with work..we work so much ! But it is a fabulous escape..fashion makes me so happy! What are you up to lately? Have you finished school ? I am applying to grad schools this December including Toronto! I miss it and I was only there for a week!!!!

Marta: Club Monaco has some great wrap/scarf things in stripes and nods to zebra. I've had to resist spending all my money there lately (what else is new…)
