Not fashion related, but I was just going through my “book collection” and wanted to share a powerful quote from D.H. Lawrence from “Lady Chatterley’s Lover”.
Ours is essentially tragic age, so we refuse to take it tragically.
The cataclysm has happened, we are among the ruins,
we start to build up new little habits, to have new little hopes.
It is rather hard work: there is now no smooth road into the future:
but we go round, or scramble over the obstacles.
We’ve got to live, no matter how many skies have fallen.

Hey! Great post! I love reading as well, but it seems that you are very into the old classics which is awesome! I love reading contemporary authors, and one book of short stories that is so powerful and absolutely brilliant is “Unaccustomed Earth” Jhumpa Laheri.
Also, great choice on The Beautiful and the Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I loved it, but then again I love anything by Fitzgerald.
Wow you will be very busy! Any plans for the summer? Are you going to be working? Are you finished school yet? I agree with Mar’s Bar..anything by F. Scott Fitzgerald !

u should check out khalid hussains books kite runner and a thousand splendid suns .. they r so goooooooooooooooood u will def love them , they r really different from what u sually read but sooo good pls give them a go

I myself have a book collection too. it takes up most of the free space in my room, with books stacked everywhere. I just feel almost empty when I don’t have a book in my hands. it’s a must for me. it keeps me breathing, hahha.
um, I’m only 16, so I’m sure some of my book suggestions would not be your taste, but I am going to try anyways.

and, I think that’s all that I can recommend as truly amazing books. and since you’re older than me, you might find my other recommendations juvenile. but anyways, hope you’ll check those books out. =)

My suggestions for you (as a lit major and therefore bit of a book nerd) would be : The Orange Girl by Jostein Gaarder, The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, The Life of Pi by Yann Martel, and Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. HOpefully there are some in there you haven’t already read!

i would suggest anything by ira levin- ‘the stepford wives’, ‘rosemary’s baby’, or ‘a kiss before dying’ are especially brilliant. ‘sliver’ is really really timely too.
