Sunny With Polka Dot Showers

On October 8, 2011 · 4 Comments
Hello Darlings,

The sun is shinning, the long weekend is upon us and so I took a Friday afternoon off to spend it at a patio indulging in too many americanos, desserts and lots of girl-talk with my best friend, Anna. The sun was shining and we had a blast :)

After seeing polka dots covering the runways of Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Christian Dior and Diane Von Furstenberg I fell in love with this cheery retro print. Although I would have loved to don the sexy and alluring semi-sheer blouse in black with polka dots, I had no such luck. Rather than the allure, I went for quirky polka dot addition in green.

J. Crew Comes to Canada and Promises to Reduce Prices After Price Backlash

On October 4, 2011 · 9 Comments
Hello Darlings,

As J. Crew comes to Canada the company held a launch party at the uber popular Yorkdale shopping mall. The high-profile New York-based brand is not only adored by Michelle Obama but by the world alike. I don't blame them, the style is classic and preppy. But was the Canadian welcome a warm one towards J. Crew? That is debatable!

Regardless of the buzz and excitement, shoppers walked away with sticker shock or in some cases angry with their mailman. J.Crew's expansion into Canada was done with "raised merchandise prices by about 15 per cent in its Canadian store and on its new Canadian e-commerce site compared with those at its U.S. outlets. For online customers, taxes and duties raised the final price for orders in some cases by as much as 50 per cent compared with the U.S. site they previously ordered from,"reported Globe and Mail. Following price backlash, J.Crew took immediate action to calm the nasty forum buzz.

The harsh reality is that a recent study showed that Canadians generally pay 20 per cent more at retail than Americans. Now, to whom do we write a complaint letter? The shopping fairy godmother?

When Time is Not an Option: finding comfort

On October 3, 2011 · 6 Comments
Hello Darlings,

Every girl has one of those days when everything is a chaos. With a million things to do and the keys are missing again; the day hasn't begun but you're already frustrated. Well, that was my Thursday—it was a chaos of unpleasant doctor appointments. Then again, life is not just a chain of happy and fabulous events. There are times when a girl needs to be finding comfort regardless of how disheveled she might feel. Add a touch of blush, smear on some lip gloss and throw on a pair of sunnies....and off you go!

Therefore this is my " I am not having the greatest day" look! Many of you suggested that I share my most casual look of when I am in a rush—Voila! As most of my days are spent rushing around, I have perfected my take on casual-wear.

In Every Girl’s Make-Up Kit: my favorite cosmetics

On October 1, 2011 · 3 Comments
Hello Darlings,

As far as my make-up goes, less is more. I am not typically one to try new techniques, nor do I really bother with perfecting my smokey eye (which, I have tried once and hated!). The idea of using a bronze or trying to contour my face scares the life out of me. Essentially, anything daring is a no-go in my books :)

Getting beautified by Diana Carreiro

I do not own a lot of make-up however I do have my favorite go-to products. But, I am a huge believer in the power of good eyebrows, and see my esthetician every 7 to 10 days for eyebrow threading. Aside from regular trips to an esthetician for face cleaning, in my opinion nutrition and proper skin care products including daily SPF are key. Make-up is meant to highlight ones beauty, not to mask it. So here is a list of my favorite cosmetics:
