Miami Downtown: The Year of Black Dragon

Hello Darlings,

The year of 2012 is especially significant in the Chinese zodiac. Combinations of animal signs create a cycle where the Year of the Black Dragon occurs only once every 60 years, which symbolizes water and the colour black.¹ Of personal note, Dragon is my zodiac sign.

To ring in my own new year, I enjoyed a lovely dinner with a delightful bottle of Oregon wine and delicious lobster tail.Instead of staying in South Beach and taking part in one of the night club parties, I wanted an urban atmosphere of restaurants and tall buildings :P Everyone knows that a city girl can be taken out of a city but the city can never be taken out of her.

South Beach Miami: Shopping

Hello Darlings,

Just hours before the clock strikes midnight and we welcome a new year, I am shopping in South Beach Miami preparing for my night out and reflecting on 2011!

Steps taken forward, and a few back, but overall this year was terrific. This year it really sunk in the value of determination and strength - as the saying goes you get what you work for, not what you deserve! (oh crumbs—I just realized that I'm out of Moroccan Oil - let the frizz begin).

Hello Darlings,

I am absolutely in love with South Beach. The beach is a relaxing retreat from the buzz of Ocean Drive, and I love the variety of characters.

My day began on the beach with an attempt to read Lolita, which I began months ago. An hour later – and only one page read – my plans changed and I slipped on my teeny-tiny silk dress to seek out lunch on Lincoln Road.

I am writing live from Ocean Drive in South Beach, Miami where I am working on an exciting new project to be launched in January. Although still a secret, I cannot wait to share all the details with you.

What I can share, is duty called and sent me packing with a few of my best stilletos, bikinis, cocktail dresses, and with a huge smile. Holidays or not, certain opportunities cannot be missed and this one definitely couldn't be missed.
