With a cup of fresh brewed coffee and a soothing end of day bath, it's sinking in how I avoided the ultimate hair catastrophe. Despite being in the trusted hands of Exit Salon's Rob and Jan, making a "big change" to cut off 4 inches of my hair was still nerve wracking!

Although I trust my stylist, I was still speechless as his scissors gently skimmed across my hair line. Just like that, 4 inches of my beloved hair were strewn across the floor! Not really sure how to feel, I stared blank at the mirror in front as Jan continued to even out my hair line. No more layers, no more length, just a clean line falling slightly below my shoulders.

Never thought I would ever cheat on my beloved Chanel with Balenciaga! Since my 16th birthday, I have been a loyal Chanel spritzer. Together with diamond studs, years ago my parents gifted me my first bottle of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle perfume. Since that birthday, I have loved Chanel in a way that no other scent could challenge. Well, that is until recently discovering the beauty of Balenciaga. My first new love was L'Essence and now it's Balenciaga's highly-anticipated Florabotanica.

Yet again, spending my evening in an airport lounge this time at the Toronto Island Billy Bishop airport en route to Montreal after speaking at the She's Connected Conference. Of all airports, Toronto Island airport is my favorite. There is something so quaint about drinking cappuccino in a comfy chair and catching up with the twitterverse. It almost feels like "me time" but the reality is there is not that much glamour with travel anymore!

Glamour or not, travel is increasingly part of most people's lives. And in my own travels, I have seen both many fashionable travel outfits as utter disasters. On this night, I am writing this while sitting across from a lady sporting a pair of bunny pj's and a designer purse — a combination that is practically killing me.

Among many recent fabulous events, OPI Nail Lacquer hosted a dinner with Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, the creative mastermind behind the brand. Suzi’s nickname is The First Lady of Nails and aptly so as she creates every shade based on her insights into beauty and fashion trends, and is involved in naming all the colours (hello dream job)!
