Spoiled Rotten…

Hello Darlings,

Happy Friday!!! I hope that everyone is enjoying the beautiful summer weather and taking the time to relax.

I definitely have been taking the time to myself and just focusing on getting back into the swing of things after such a difficult time. I have come to realize that there is nothing wrong with simply slowing down. I must admit that it is pretty awesome, to just kick back and not feel guilty about it. It's a fascinating feeling and one that I am not quite used to :)

Life is quite an adventure and some times things happen that throw you into a whirlpool of hate and fear, but to be quite honest I do believe that everything does happen for a reason. Through the hard times, a personal learns to discover ones strength and it is a very liberating feeling. Which is exactly how I feel now, liberated! I think that knowing that you can handle anything that life throws at you is exactly what allows you to go on as a stronger and better person. I do not mean to sound like I am preaching, but I hope that those who are going through a difficult time do realize that everything will be alright. Just take the time to focus on yourself... and just spoil yourself!

I've been definitely "spoiling" myself by:

taking the time to read Karen Essex's Stealing Athena ( I will definitely share my thoughts once I am done)

doing lots of yoga

spending a lot of time in the park with my little man, Johnny (my cocker spaniel)

by taking the time for mani and pedi's

visiting my esthetically a little more often

taking that extra 5 minutes while getting dressed

grabbing Starbuck's and just reading for joy

spending lots of time with my loved ones

spending lots of time with my girlies

purchasing an item or two that I've wanted for a while.

long bubble baths

watching every FiFa game

watching Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, Devil Wears Prada and Marie Antoinette.

Time to me is a luxury and having the opportunity to spend it on myself is definitely the best way to spoil oneself!

As for today's outfit, I wore it earlier this morning to run a few errands. I've been really loving my Ash wedges...not only because they are super casual but also work with just about anything! Plus, they go sooo perfectly with my new hair color....just joking, but it is true :D Today, I finally had the chance to wear my new Marc by Marc Jacobs giraffe top with the new Marc by Marc Jacobs rings... I know my obsession with all things Marc Jacobs continues, I just can't help myself! Honestly, I think that Marc has the best tee shirts as they wear amazingly well and wash even better. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who likes simple but fun tops. As for the rings, I couldn't have asked for a better accessory... they are perfection!

I am wearing:
Marc by Marc Jacobs " word giraffe" top—from Holt Renfrew
Talula Babaton beige Shorts—from Aritzia
Wilfred Boyfriend Linen Blazer— from Aritzia
Wilfred Leather Neutral Belt— from Aritzia
Ash UFO Wedges— from Holt Renfrew Last Call
Marc by Marc Jacobs " House of Cards Court Harem" ring set— from shopbop.com
Michael Kors Watch—a gift
Chanel Sunglasses—a gift

Well, I am off to get ready for dinner with one of my girlies...

But before I leave I must know, What do you do to spoil yourself????

Wishing Everyone a Beautiful Weekend!!!

With Love...

Marta

  1. I totally agree with the yoga. It’s so relaxing. A lot of the sitting and prostrate poses could just send me to sleep. I stay in poses for a long time… I always fee brand new after doing yoga. It’s the best in the morning.

  2. I’m glad to see you spoiling yourself!

I’m not sure how I spoil myself actually. If it’s food or drink, I end up feeling guilty about it in the end anyway. If it’s clothes, well I have so many… that I feel guilty lol.

I think traveling is how I spoil myself. I do it and feel zero guilt :)

  3. Those wedges are gorgeous! Love your outfit too. I need to do some spoiling..

  4. Oh my gosh your day sounds absolutely relaxing! I have a feeling my day of doing absolutely nothing won’t come until sometime after swimming is over (end of July!). But when I do take those days to spoil myself, I usually crawl up in yoga pants and a t-shirt and watch movies like Clueless or The Notebook! And of course a little ice cream or treat!

  5. I love your list of “me-treats”. You sort of reminded me that it’s important to take time for yourself once in a while. I’ve been so busy, I completely forgot about it. I think, the only “me” activities at the moment are my workouts, I feel really good when I exercise, and walks with Oscar whenever we get a chance to take him to the woods (usually it’s just streets, not so much fun).
Keep meaning to tell you how much I adore your hair colour, it’s gorgeous. And this outfit is lovely. x

  6. I love your shorts. THey are amazing. So are those shoes. An amazing combination.

I’m glad that you’re trying to work through the difficult time :)

  7. Love your new hair color! And I really like the way you are always so positive about everything. It’s so uplifting. So now I must share my list as well (even though it has been quite a long while since I have felt “free” of university work, deadlines, etc… but I try to add a bit of fun here and there so as not to go completely crazy!)

    - playing piano. It just uplifts the mood no matter what is wrong, and there’s nothing better than finally playing a new piece perfectly or opening a new book and trying something you have never attempted before!
    - reading. It’s so rare that I have time to read! It’s definitely a great way to spend a sunny afternoon.
    - going with my mum to the salon to get mani/pedis, massages, facials, etc.
    - taking trips. no matter what, if I come home at the end of the day, I go back into my regular routine of studying/working etc. but if I’m spending a few nights away with no internet access, that is truly liberating!
    - watching movies. especially with loved ones, and with yummy treats! :)

  8. Looking lovely!

I definitely love the mani/pedi, also baths with fantastic lush bath bombs or bubble bath - so great. And of course, shopping!

  9. I’ve been spoiling myself too but I’ve been feeling guilty about it unfortunately. I think a break is deserved for everyone and I agree that when you finally get the free break it’s liberating! Today I spoiled myself by eating comfort food and baking & decorating a ton of sugar cookies :D

  10. Hm, I love to take crazy long walks, and grabbing my boyfriend so we can park ourselves on a sunny patio, order coffees and read. That is heaven to me!

I am really liking your red hair, btw ;)

  11. love your shorts!as always you look amazing on your photos. Taking some time off is also important to me. love to read books and just spend more time with my family.
