Hello Darlings, World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week is underway and the action is non-stop. The festivities were kicked off with a cocktail reception hosted by event sponsor MasterCard to celebrate the Stylicity program where I had the opportunity of meet and have my picture with one of my personal fashion heroes, Jeanne Beker — host of Fashion Television for over 25 years.

Korhani Home was the official opening show of the season, which featured a vast array of costume inspired clothing paying tribute to the Orient, English Punk, and French Renaissance. The show was very theatrical and set a high standard for the rest of the week. I enjoyed the presentation greatly.

After the show, I went backstage to congratulate my favourite Redken hair wonder team from Exit Salon. As some of you may know, Exit Salon is who makes my hair silky smooth and fiery red. I have been in the hands of Rob and Leland for more than a year, and I really can't rave more about them.

As a Redken flagship hair salon, Exit Salon's stylists were selected to be part of the Redken team who did the hair for the first day of Toronto Fashion Week. I was amazed to find out that it takes about two weeks leading up to each show for the stylists to develop looks for each designer.

With a busy schedule attending shows and working on Stylicity, I have been staying in the heart of fashion action at Hotel Le Germain Maple Leafs Square. I will also host a bloggers post-fashion week brunch in a private suite at the hotel this Sunday to discuss all the juicy details of the week.

I AM WEARING: Preen Mood Floral Dress // Mike & Chris Leather Hoodie Jacket // Marc by Marc Jacobs Hayworth Fur Vest // Manolo Blahnik Suede and Leather Booties

As for my first look, I wore.a new Preen dress that I bought shopping at one of the Stylicity merchants, Rac Boutique in Yorkville. Although different from my usual style, I am in love with the retro shape and modern print. Unlike anything that I have in my closet, this dress is a perfect spring floral addition. This fashion week, I have not only been exploring the shows but also pushing my own comfort zone with colors and prints.

With Love...

Marta
