With Henry Duarte...
Hello Darlings,
Finding for your favorite jeans is like finding that perfect little black dress. It takes hours of intensive labor, patience, and numerous trips to a mall. But when you find that pair, every top in your wardrobe seems to have that much more potential! For me this mission began, sometime last fall... I was desperate to find a pair of black, skinny, and perfectly cropped jeans. Although, I failed miserably for months, I finally found them this past weekend.
Ever since I saw Olivia Palermo wear a pair of simple black cropped jeans with her YSL's, a simple blouse+vest+blazer combination, and Hermes... I was obsessed! I just had to find that perfect pair for myself! Think Audrey Hepburn and her beloved just-above-the-ankle pants with flats.....ahhh, perfection!
The biggest challenge with cropped pants is finding the right length. Pants either dwarf or elongate, it is all in the crop. You are trying to find a pair that looks neat and sleek, and makes you feel poised and sophisticated. I must admit that every time I go denim shopping I have this list at the back of my mind:
♥ Do not bunch around the knees and behind.
♥ Support my bottom like a push up bra. No flattening of the tush.
♥ High enough at the back, and do not gape. I do not want to worry about the whole world seeing my undies (ever if they are cute :P)
♥ The waist band is not tights, who needs a false muffin-top.
♥ Right length that flatters me, if not then be ready to stop by a tailor.
♥ Consider the stretch factor, if unsure consult the sales person.
♥ Always buy the right size, as you're the only one who sees the number.
I adore cropped styles for spring and summer, as they draw attention to your shoes! And who doesn't love to show off their favorite heel or flat? They are also an ideal alternative to your favorite black skinnies :P Let's just say that you are going to be seeing this pair quite often as they are so easy to wear from day to night!
I am wearing:
- Rory Becca "Jen" ruffle silk top — from Holts
- Rich & Skinny " Legacy" Jeans — from Holts
- Henry Duarte No.Q 65 lamb leather blazer — gift from parents
- Aldo "Gillins" Ring — from Aldo Accessories
- Marc by Marc Jacobs Purse — from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Bleeker Street in NYC
- Pedro Garcia "Mary Jane" Pump — from Holts Last Call
- Chanel Sunnies — gift from parents
This time I went for a simple black and white combination. I wore this outfit to a mass and then stopped by the mall to buy some last minute gifts. For a more formal feel, I went with my new Henry Duarte lamb leather blazer. I love it, so soft and the detailing is exquisite (I'll be sure to include a closer image, next time I wear it). Also, this top is one of my favorites. I adore the delicate fabric and pretty ruffles in the front and back. Simple — that is all that I wanted from this look :P
Now it's your turn to tell me what you think....
