Hello Darlings, Last night I had a chance to check out |FAT| Arts & Fashion Week for the first time.  FAT is an annual multi-arts event in Toronto featuring 200 national and international fashion designers, visual artists, bands and performers. It is unlike any fashion event, done in the spirit of gallery or exhibit opening, this avant-garde spectacle is a week long celebration of creativity!

I was there to support Toronto's up-and-coming fashion darling, Rachel Sin and her Fall/Winter 2012 fashion line. As a trained architect, Sin's designs are strong yet feminine. Her work celebrates an independent,  want-to-do-it-all woman whose wardrobe is an extension of her confidence, originality and personal style. From tailored office attire to charming dresses, Rachel Sin is a go-to label for a modern, working girl.

The inspiration behind Rachel Sin collection is Pedro Almodovar films and in particular his protagonist, Penelope Cruz.  As Sin explains, " imagine the Almodovar heroine, you can't help but notice as she walks by, the simple form-fitting dress is as visually stunning as her beauty.

Known to create a strong presence of female characters in his movies, Almodovar consistently creates female characters who can do it all. They can be plan or spectacularly glamorous. They can be needy and possessive or fiercely self-sufficient." A neutral color palette of camel, gray and peach nude perfectly complemented the rich materials of the collection. Rachel Sin's collection was presented with Demü Label's newest collection of jewellery and spiked pouches.

I AM WEARING: Rachel Sin Caroline Dress // Marc by Marc Jacobs Dries Wedges // YSL Arty Ring // Alexander McQueen Razor Necklace

For the show, Rachel Sin kindly dressed me in one of her beautiful tangerine creations from her Spring/Summer 2012 collection. The linen dress features a delicate yet bold ruffle with a form fitting bodice and an open back. The outfit was complete with structured Marc by Marc Jacobs heels and a touches of YSL and Alexander McQueen jewelry.
