With Love... at Rac Boutique presents Mulcair Event...

Hello Darlings,

The other night I had the opportunity to attend a Mulcair presentation at the chic Rac boutique in Yorkville. The Mulcair designs were fantastic and the store was stocked up with a wide selection of up and coming designer pieces.  It was a fantastic night with lots of talented bloggers and fashion insiders.

The highlight of my evening was having the ability to support my friend Anthea from Clothes Line Finds,  the creative genius behind an upcoming documentary, Faces of Fashion. Actually, Anthea and I met three years ago at a bloggers’ lunch and have become great friends. The documentary focuses on the Canadian fashion industry and I am honored to be one of the few bloggers chosen to represent bloggers’ point of view.

The idea behind this film is absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to have the opportunity to share it with you when it is finished. As part of the night, Athea and her filming crew were kind enough to create my first Vlog video, which is coming up sometime next week :)Yes, I am hoping to introduce video blog entries to With Love…

As for the look for the evening, I wore my new Mackage trench coat which was complimented by the new Z Spoke by Zac Posen purse. As always, the quality and beauty of Mackage coats are undeniable and I am probably one of their most loyal customers. With four Mackage coats and counting, I can say that as far as outerwear goes, theirs is truly detailed to perfection. With a fairly reasonable price tag (the average coat is in the $500-800 price range) their items are an “investment” worth making. Now, I sound like I represent Mackage! I do not have any affiliation with the company, I just really love their coats!

I am wearing:
Mackage Abella Trench Coat
Autumn Cashmere Cashmere Dress
Calvin Klien Opaque Tights
La Baccarina Leather and Suede Thigh High Boots
Z Spoke by Zac Posen Tote

Underneath the trench I decided on a simple Autumn Cashmere dress which I love and always will. As far as cashmere goes, Autumn Cashmere is pricy but the quality and longevity makes up for the splurge. I would suggest stocking up on their items on sale, which makes them more affordable. On a more affordable side, I think that Club Monaco has amazing cashmere in great selection of styles. I probably have over a dozen pieces, including variations of the same cardigan because when they go on sale it a sin not to buy multiples. Club Monaco cashmere does wear amazingly well and the quality of the yarn is fantastic.

So, to answer few of reader requests, I would say that if you’re looking for a statement piece that is bound to make an impression I say save up and spend couple hundred on the items from Autumn Cashmere, as their line is sheer luxury. If you’re looking for classic, staple pieces I say definitely check out Club Monaco. I have a large cashmere collection from variety of labels, but these are the best ones as far as quality and longevity goes.

Also, be sure to always hand wash your cashmere and lay flat to dry. When cared for properly, cashmere will last you a long time. Just to add, I do avoid dry cleaners only because the harsh chemicals reduce the lifespan of clothes by a half and also I’ve had sooo many items ruined. Those are my basic guide lines of cashmere indulgence :)

On a side note, I would like to add that I know that I have been a bit sparser with my blog entries due to the lack of inspiration and a major writer’s block. However, I am back and ready to mingle. Here are some things to look forward to in the upcoming weeks:

  • Vlog
  • Packing for a trip without checking luggage
  • Blogging live on location
  • My favorite spring trends and must-have list
  • And much more!

P.S. The million dollar question of today is... are you going to watch the Academy Awards??? I probably will while doing my school work

Wishing Everyone A Happy Sunday!!!

With Love...

Marta
