Hollywood Moved 10 Miles West
Hello Darlings, Rumor has it Hollywood is where dreams come true – to my surprise the Hollywood that I knew moved 10 miles west!
From lunching at Fred Segal, to shopping Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen and DVF boutiques on Melrose Avenue, to cocktails at Chateau Marmont, and the luxurious and stylish hotels on Sunset Boulevard, I came to realize that my image of Hollywood does really exist – it just moved 10 miles to West Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
While in our culture we mention Hollywood when referring to movie and television celebrities, the reality is that studios are in different far away parts of the city like Burbank (Warner), Century City (Fox), and Culver City (Columbia TriStar). So your chances to see a celebrity in Hollywood are slim. And with this being my first trip to California, I was sad to find that the heart of Hollywood is mostly fast food restaurants and in general a scary place for a young girl.

I enjoyed so much more West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. My red carpet experience at Greystone Manor for the OK! Magazine party was eye-opening to be behind-the-scenes to see young “Hollywood” celebrities in action (we were actually in West Hollywood). And the beautiful brunch at the Bel-Air Hotel for the Montblanc launch gave me a taste of the upscale elegance of old “Hollywood” celebrities in action (we were actually in Beverly Hills). So if all the events, celebrities, shopping, and restaurants are in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, why is it everyone still talks about Hollywood?
Curious to hear how many others have been left wondering the same thing after their first Hollywood experience?
With Love...
