Hello Darlings,  This weekend is special in Canada as it's the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Montreal. Last year, I had a chance to enjoy the festivities and the races. You can check out the fun by clicking here :) This year I was looking forward to another fun-filled weekend getaway,  however decided to cancel the trip last minute due to protesting chaos.

For those who are not familiar, Montreal has been facing not so pleasant student protests for the past four months over university tuition hikes. I understand their concerns, but it's still disappointing that they ruined probably the most lucrative weekend of the year for many of the bars and restaurants!

But the upside of skipping my Montreal getaway is that my shopping budget just received a surprising last minute increase! I was also glad to have a bit of free time to go shopping with my mom. Despite finishing my studies last summer, I could not attend my schedule November convocation. I am finally attending my University of Toronto graduation this Thursday and was panicked to find a dress.

I AM WEARING: Gap Crewneck Sweater // Marc by Marc Jacobs Pig Flats // J Brand Floral Cropped Skinny Jeans // Kate Spade New Bond Street Sawyer Purse // Kate Spade Alda Sunglasses // Pandora Leather Charm Bracelet

Shopping for a graduation dress is unlike shopping for any other dress. All that I can compare it to is prom shopping. For my graduation, I was looking for a simple classic dress with a classic pair of pumps. The shoes were a breeze when I laid my eye of a pair of delicate Prada peep-toe pumps - it was meant to be. Now, a dress was a challenge!

A black dress was out of question, and a cocktail dress is inappropriate. I wanted my look to portray the woman that I have become (well, at least that's what I like to tell myself): confident and strong. After a long afternoon but also lots of fun with my mom, I did find a perfect dress that I look forward to wearing. Aside from the dress, I also purchased a pretty pink Juicy Couture coat that was 50% off and two adorable tops from Zara.

With Love...

Marta
