At some point mid-August, every girl finds herself dwelling a little longer on those lush coats while scrolling through the pages of an online store or magazine. As my mom and I were heading out for a shopping date, in my head I was making lists of fall items that I need to purchase. Despite it being 26 degrees; my mind is cozying up in a cashmere shawl on a chilly autumn day.

With a change of a season comes—what I call—a hair re-do. Adjusting my highlights according to the weather forecast has always been my “thing”: cold=richer and deeper copper; warm=ombré honey highlights. With my regular visit to EXIT Salon, I discovered the secret to healthy and shiny hair.

Fresh from my ten day Québec trip, I began a Journey in another sense thanks to my friends at American Express. The past few weeks have been undeniably exciting!

On August 9th, American Express and High Road Communications kindly invited With Love Gabrielle to celebrate the one year anniversary of the American Express Gold Rewards Card.

The evening began with an intimate sunset dinner overlooking Lake Ontario, followed by a Journey and Foreigner concert and an after-party at the Amex lounge. The entire evening was a perfect way for E and I to just relax and have some fun after the long trip. With such a beautiful atmosphere we could not have asked for a better evening to spend together.

One of the best parts of traveling is exploring new places and seeing many new faces. On my recent trip to Montreal, Quebec, I was able to explore a lot of the different downtown areas, eat at many new restaurants, shop in some new stores, and generally had a great experience.

One of the most interesting things about Montreal – in fact, all of Quebec - is it's unique character relative to the rest of Canada. In addition to the distinct language spoken by the majority (French versus English), Montreal is very different socially. But fear not if you are planning your first Montreal trip, since it seems almost everyone working at restaurants, shops, hotels, bars, etc. all speak good english so the language issue is not a challenge.

I finally got away from my desk for desserts with my bestie. After a few treats and some juicy gossip, we headed to Future Shop to pick up my camera lens. Given my beginner’s knowledge of photography and that an average decent camera lens costs a couple hundreds, it was no small investment.

So why all of a sudden shop for “serious” equipment, well I am very proud to announce that WithLoveGabrielle was awarded a government grant as a promising small business! I feel very fortunate to have an opportunity to work in two areas that I truly adore: art and social media.
