Black Friday is the one day Americans — and Canadians are well on their way as well — would sacrifice sleep, sex, and possibly their left leg for a great bargain. The term was coined in 1966 and since 2005 Black Friday has officially become the busiest shopping day of the year.

However before, you pack your tent and camp outside Macy's or Best Bay keep in mind some interesting facts. Not every Black Friday deal is actually a steal, so watch your spending and never forget it's not a great deal or a bargain, if you don't really need it!

It all started with red Maestro lipstick 401 at a luncheon to celebrate the new Giorgio Armani Maestro collection, to a newly discovered fascination with the Armani brand. Coming from a Chanel-lover, this is a huge step... after all, my loyalty has been compromised. It's bad enough that I am cheating on Chanel with Balenciaga's Florabotanica and now a complete conversion to Armani - this is just too much to grasp!

Yes, I love the red but more so I adore the Armani formula. I am a girl who often forgets about lipstick, but Maestro is awesome as I rarely have to re-apply. On my next beauty shopping trip, I am dying to get their 500 color for daily use.

Brendan is the "it" DJ for New York's fashion scene, a co-founder of the shopping site NMRKT, and manager of R&B artist Theophilus London.

Brendan co-hosted my "Cocktails Before Sex" party at the Thompson Hotel rooftop a few months ago during the Toronto International Film Festival.
