-Hello Darlings, There are some things in life that a girl simply cannot live without. Somewhere between a breakfast cup of coffee, a favorite pair of pumps and an under-eye concealer is black! Yes, color black. There’s nothing more beautiful than the color that represents the absence of or complete absorption of light . From a pair of pumps, to a purse and finally the rest of the wardrobe, black always works! As Chanel said, “Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.“
For me, it’s been an ongoing dilemma! The guilt that I feel when I buy yet another black piece. From the new Cut25 by Yigal Azrouë bomber to a pair of Gucci boots, it’s an ongoing love/hate relationship. I’ve always felt that neutral colors allow for the woman wearing them to stand out rather than the garment that is being worn.
I’ve come to terms with a fact that black, beige, grey and white are my favorite colors. Stripes is my favorite pattern. Pastel is my favorite way to wear color. Bright color is reserved for accessories, handbags and footwear. Red is for my hair! I suppose some would say that such rules is what makes things safe but I will disagree. Learning about comfort boundaries and discovering your likes is exactly what creates a personal style. Style is not meant to be outrageous or to impress others, it is meant to be yours! Therefore if you love yellow, go for it and wear it! If you love something then why not continue loving it.
