What Was I Thinking?

What Was I Thinking?

Hello Darlings, Somewhere in between all the beige and black is an occasional pink touch! If looking into my closet you will find an overwhelming amount of whites and neutrals as they are always my first choice. It is only occasionally that I come home with finds which leave me wondering —  “What was I thinking?”

We all have our comfort zones and a distinct personal style. As a woman you just know your likes and what works for you. However once in a blue moon you find yourself attracted to a piece that is so out of your character that it leaves you puzzled. Do you walk away or play around with the idea of something new?

Of course, you try something new! That’s the whole point of fashion – to have fun! When you love something that is outside of your style then it might be just the addition that you need. After all, there is a reason why you love it!

Spontaneity is a good idea however never force yourself to like things that are outside of your comfort zone. Often times external influences from friends or even a magazine can encourage you buy items that are clearly not a good idea. Can I say hot pants! Just because hot pants are on every runways does not mean that they need to be added to your closet.

Finding a balance between your favorites and spontaneous additions is what evolves your style. It might be a pair of neon pink jeans that you adore for no apparent reason or a shirt with a bulldog! Even if for a moment you feel like 25 going on 5, no worries because at the end of the day you’re wearing something that you love.

So on some days, “What was I thinking?” is just what you need!

 With Love...

Marta
