TIFF Day Three: First Celebrity Sightings

Hello Darlings,

It's a rainy morning in Toronto, but no chance a little bad weather could dampen my spirits with such an exciting day ahead. First up will be my first celebrity encounter of this year's Toronto International Film Festival ("TIFF") as I'm invited to hang out in the Variety Studio inside upscale retail store Holt Renfrew.

Variety Magazine is one of the main Hollywood and industry publications, and they are hosting a lounge where media can interview various movie stars attending TIFF to showcase their films. With an action-packed day including no less than 3 big parties, I chose to attend the suite at 11 AM in large part because I am a huge Alexander Skarsgard fan from his acting on the HBO show True Blood. Thanks to MoroccanOil for inviting me!

While it's definitely hard to pass up meeting some other notable celebs visiting the suite, there is a very good reason! Event number two of my day is the George Christy cocktail party at the new Four Seasons hotel in Yorkville. A Toronto institution (brand started and based in Toronto), this is the first event at the new hotel in the upscale Yorkville neighborhood. As an art & architecture grad it will be very interesting to see the new space! Not to mention that Four Seasons has always played a big role in TIFF, so it should be fun mingling with the A-List Hollywood crowd that Four Seasons should draw for their mid-day cocktail party!

Tomorrow is when I will attend my first TIFF movie, but this evening is once again hectic attending more fancy parties. First up on my agenda is the Hello Magazine "Hollywood Movie Star Magic" party at the Ritz Carlton downtown. As Canada's leading celebrity magazine, and with hosting the event at the upscale Ritz Carlton, this party should be the best of TIFF this evening. I also have a fun special engagement at this party, so expect some fabulous party photos coming soon!

And please visit "Cocktails Before Sex" if you want to RSVP for my party at the Thompson rooftop on Tuesday, September 11th. Besides having a wicked awesome view, and that the majority of A-list Young Hollywood celebrities already stay at the Thompson Hotel, I am very excited that DJ Brendan Fallis is co-hosting. Brendan played last night at the new Soho House Toronto, then flew back to New York this morning to DJ for Jill Stuart's New York Fashion Week show - and is then flying right back to Toronto for more TIFF events. Brendan is one of the hottest DJ's on the planet, so I'm excited to hear him play!

What are your TIFF plans for the day?

With Love...

Marta
