Skin Care... Winter 2011

Hello Darlings,

Every few months, I update my skin care routine to suit the season and my ever-changing skin needs. This winter, my skin has been super dry and very sensitive. Although it took me a while, I have finally discovered a routine that is working well.

This is my current list of skin care favorites and reasons for avoiding Clinique products... and trust me the title of "favorites" does not come easily!

The Clinique Effect
Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
Clinique Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer— Dry to Combination

Despite my disappointment with Clinique 3-step system a few years ago, I gave the line another try after reading wonderful reviews. I purchased toner, moisturizer and night super rescue cream. At first I was happy with the results, but soon began to notice differences in my skin. It became oily and my pores became very enlarged. Major breakouts followed, which led me to many dermatologist visits and ridiculous amount of extractions. Overall, Clinique made my skin a mess. In particular, I noticed that the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion was the biggest factor in exacerbating the breakouts. Meanwhile, the Clarifying Toner was super drying and made my skin look dull. The Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Lotion seemed to work, but considering my lack of luck with the line, I decided not to use any of their products.

Has anyone else, ever had a similar experience with Clinique?

3. Kiehl's Sodium PCA Oil-Free Moisturizer
4. Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
My Favorite Skin Care Products

I've decided that Kiehl's and Lush work best for my skin.

Everyday:  For my everyday routine,  I use simple Dove Bar in the morning and at night. Then tone and moisturize. Very simple but works!

Every Week:  Every 3-7 days I use masques, one from Kiehl's and then followed by one from Lush. Kiehl's does a wonderful job cleaning out the pores, and Lush is great for hydration. I also use Kiehl's masque as spot treatment, which makes blemishes disappear without drying out the skin.

2. Lush Oatifix Masque

What are your skin care secrets???

Wishing Everyone a Beautiful Day!!!!

With Love...
