Sherway Gardens Spring #FaveFinds
Hello Darlings, It is said that the best way to know a woman is to go shopping with her. Perhaps a naive statement but one that carries some truth to it. While shopping is an enjoyable activity it is also one that says a lot about woman's likes and dislikes. Even more so it speaks to her emotional state. No woman can disagree with a fact that buying something lovely on a terrible day feels pretty great!
With long work days and school finals coming up, my Friday evening was spent "letting off some steam" and flexing some credit card muscles. As any woman I find comfort in retail therapy, even if shopping is a big part of my job description. For as long as I can remember my mom and I would spend some of our alone mother-daughter time at Sherway Gardens, and I have so many fond memories associated with the mall. It's been a blessing to have the support and an opportunity to work with the very mall. If interested, you can find my style column at Sherway Gardens site, The Endless Closet or the YouTube channel. With a huge expansion opening this fall and number of amazing retailers joining the property, it's an exciting time!
As per our usual, every month or so on a Friday evening my mom and I go shopping together. Today especially we were more than delighted to visit a newly opened Tory Burch store. As expected from the brand, the store was nothing short of perfection. From gold accents and mirrored furniture, the accessories and clothing were beautifully highlighted. My favorite part was in the back which houses the shoe salon. Tory Burch being one of my favorites, the new store opening came with a new pair of shoes. For the past month or two I've been on a hunt for a pair of sandals that could be worn casually. And today, I finally found a pair of peep toe wedges in nude!
With sun finally shinning on Toronto, I've put away my winter wardrobe and today was just the time to add a few more new warm weather additions. My go to for wardrobe basics are always Gap and Aritzia. I've always found it intriguing how over years every woman established a certain trust in particular stores to deliver just what she wants. They are typically her go to for particular occasion. For me, Gap is a go-to for knits and sweaters. I picked up two slub crew sweaters in black and light blue.
For classics with a trendy twist additions is Aritzia and today was like every other shopping trip, I found something I loved. I fell for a pair of shorts overall! I always find myself trying something new at Aritzia. Perhaps it's the relationships with the girls that I've built over the years that always have great suggestions but today I was so happy to buy a Wilfred Free Emanuella Romper, Diaconu Tank, and Izidora Dress.
Overall, it was a pleasant evening spent just joking around, sipping coffee and providing each other with constructive criticism in change rooms. It was a nice way to just escape with my mom!
