Hello Darlings, With an early morning flight from Montreal YUL and three and a half hours later Dallas DFW, I was ready for my second Texas adventure. On my first trip in 2011, I spent some time discovering Houston and Austin. This time, it was all about Dallas!

Dallas is the 9th largest city and part of the 4th largest metropolitan area in the United States.  The city is hugely spread out over 343 square miles but surprisingly only has a population of 1.2 million. Personally, I was always under the impression that Dallas was a big city with lots of hustle and bustle. To my surprise, it turned out to be homey and quiet.

From all of the American cities that I've visited in the past few years, Dallas is the only city where I could see myself living. There is something comforting about Dallas; perhaps the charming neighborhoods, friendly folks or a good social scenes. Overall, Dallas just seems cozy and welcoming.

Despite being in Dallas for only three and a half days mostly dedicated to the pride and joy of the city — Dallas Cowboys— I did squeeze in a bit of shopping and  lovely dinners. I spent the majority of my time downtown and in particular the area called Uptown. The Uptown area was developed on the principle of New Urbanism that promotes walkable neighborhoods which is exactly what makes it wonderful. The area is a combination of great restaurants, lounges and cute shops at the West Village. As for shopping, well this city has a lot to offer and in particular it has the Galleria, which is filled with all types of designer duds and stores. For any woman that loves designer eye candy this is the mall to visit when in Dallas!

What can I say, Texas is becoming a regular destination as I plan to be back for the big South by South West Conference in Austin this coming March. However, as I have yet to meet a real Cowboy perhaps a rodeo will be on my next agenda :P

With Love...
